A gem of a place hidden away in Hughson. Authentic and delicious with large portioned servings. The salsa flight ranged from mild green to hot and spicy red served with chips made inhouse. The flour tortillas were freshly made too! The shredded beef was tender and just fell apart. Didn't try the tequila but enjoyed a tall draft beer to wash it all down. The ambiance and decor was comfortable and the service was friendly and attentive. Update 8/9/23: impromptu last minute get together with a group of five easily accommodated and provided excellent service, meals and drinks. Everyone was surprised at the many dinner options and large portions. We had a great time. And the music kept us grooving in our seats.

Must try! Food was great, atmosphere was nice even outside. Drinks are really good. Let me tell you that you will not leave hungry- so much food. Service was ok- not great not bad- average- but not worth deducting a star for that. Prices are average but again a lot of food. My margarita was $12 but had enough alcohol in it. We will visit again and recommend.

Celebrated my brother's birthday here. A small get together. I recommend you make a reservation or you'll be waiting to get a table. The bar side is nice but a tight squeeze to get people in. The drink choices are great and they had holiday drinks options as well. The old fashioned is fantastic. The rest itself is such a great and comfortable vibe. The food is amazing. It came a lot quicker than expected and that is not a complaint. Just a surprise. I definitely recommend coming here for dinner with friends or family.

Had the Quesadilla Fritta, Quesa birria, La Fresa (cocktail) along with complimentary chips and salsa. Everything had a fantastic fresh flavor to it. No ingredients overpowered any of the others in the dish making it excellent. I was full less than half way through my meal, but not in a heavy uncomfortable way. Servers were also very attentive and helpful. Outdoor and inside seating options. Walk ins are an option, but I'd suggest a reservation during busy times specifically if trying to sit inside. I highly recommend this spot, and I'm glad I happened to find it. Will definitely be returning again.

If you find yourself in Hughson/ Turlock area, this is the place to have lunch or dinner.The service is unbelievable. I stop by to have coffee with some business associates and stayed for a late lunch. Taco salad with Carne Asada meat toping.Orginally, Estela, our waitress, told us the bad news the coffee maker was broken, then about 10 minutes later, I was able to get it up and present two nice big cups of fresh coffee. 👍 thank you. This team goes the extra distance to make customers feel great.

👍🏾 for presentation and service. However the Chef was too generous with the salt. We could only stomach half the food. My 13 year old son normally bodies food quickly and he didn’t finish his tacos for the first time ever. I heard some other guest complaining about the taste as well. I won’t be going back but no regrets for trying a new place.

Knock all cause her but remember customers service is your title 🙄 .. pricey but worth it!! Ceviche was the bomb but small

If you want great atmosphere, food/drinks and last but not least amazing staff I highly recomennd this restaurant! From the bar to the outdoor and indoor dinning you'll have a great experience. EVERY SINGLE staff member is amazing you can tell they put great effort is providing the best! I'll point out one staff member in particular, Andrea and shes the definititon of what great customer service is. A great server, listener, communicator, undertanding, and over the top. She's the best!!!! Mind you she was not our original server when my 5 guest and I arrived. I'll share a portion of our experience towards the end of our visit. A small mistake with our check took place when our original server finished with her shift and we had to pay so the next staff member can take over. Andrea was that next person to attend our table. I notice a different charge made to my card than originally listed on the reciept or mentioned prior by our previous server. That charge was the gratuity charge added for the size of the party. Some restaurant businesses would care more about the money but When I brought up my concern of the miscommunication Andrea assisted with figuring out where the misunderstanding had happened. And all I can say is that she handled it beyond expectation. There was a mutual understanding of the mistake and at the end of the day it felt like we were treaded like family.I wish you all great success, I look forward to our next visit to Agave Azul. Thank you for everything.

The food was delicious but not such a great experience. We sat on the inside, the tables were very close together, and it was packed full with people and very loud. That's ok with me, however there was a German Shepherd standing by the table beside us. I didn't feel comfortable eating beside a big dog, which I don't feel should have been allowed inside the restaurant. The waiter was not very friendly at all from the moment she approached our table. I would go back to give it another try as I really liked the food, hoping it's a better experience next time!

Yesterday, I was out with friends for a late lunch at this place. The service was great and the food overall was tasty.My only problem is their new menu does not consider people with common allergies. I suffered an allergic reaction after eating their ribeye tacos. The tacos come with a sauce that uses peanuts in it. I am highly allergic to peanuts and this experience left me with a scratchy throat, watery eyes and itchy mouth. Luckily I had Benadryl and an epipen ready.I suggest that this restaurant update their menus to warn patrons of their ingredients with potential allergens (like peanuts or shellfish, etc.). If I had known there was peanuts made in the sauce, I would have asked for the tacos without the sauce.Dietary restrictions: Ask the servers about your allergy restrictions to make sure you don’t accidentally eat something you’re not supposed to digest.

I have been here a few times with my family and the food and service is consistently great! They had chips with 3 different salsas that really hit the spot. Last time I ordered the chilaquiles with shrimp and it was delicious!!! The flavor was great and the chilaquiles were crispy. I will always come here when I am in the Modesto area. Highly recomended!!!!Kid-friendliness: Willing to make reservations.

What a hidden gem this is.They took a party of 11 around 11am on a Saturday. We sat outside, it was a beautiful day but there was a slight chill. We got cozy with the space heaterz. Jenavy our server was absolutely Fantastic! She answered all my questions and got me some 💣 as Chilaquiles rojos. Jenavy Rocks! I paired the plate a Death by Paloma and what a combination that was. The kids loved the 🥞 and quesabirria. Will eat in next time I'm in the area.Just Go!

Best place for the prettiest and tastiest cucumber jalapeño margarita in the Valley! Husband and I had lunch with friends visiting from Calaveras who specifically requested authentic Mexican food, so we brought them here..they loved it! Establishment is well decorated with art, vibrant colors, and lively music always playing in the background. They have TVs, nice outdoor dining, and an xtra large menu. They serve chips and salsa and have a delicious xtra spicy salsa if you ask. Service is friendly, although usually busy they are always efficient. Aside from the gazing into the beauty of my drink and savoring each sip, we also shared a couple of orders of tequila shrimp that we love so much and almost forgot the pic. It’s served beautifully with buttery white rice in the canter and this amazing flavor bursting tequila shrimp that surrounds it with chunks of flavor. I ordered the grilled fish tacos that were pleasantly delicious. I asked what type of fish they used, it was not Tilapia, so I ordered as she said it was similar to cod and these tacos were filled with tasty fresh goodness👌My husband enjoyed his green sauce chicken served with rice, beans and warm tortillas. We love this place for always consistently great Mexican food and vibes!

Food was ok. The women that waited us was sweet but everyone else that brought out food was not on top of things. We didn't get any utensils. And they forgot my spoon for my pozole. The drink was very strong couldn't really enjoy it. So i just left it.

I’ve been coming here for some time now, my last two experiences have not been very pleasant. When arriving the hosts do not ask if you prefer inside or out. First time no one approched us for drinks we left after 20 minute wait. Today again we waiting 20 minutes to be sat but were going to be sat outside. When asked if we could have inside the wait was going to be another hour or hour and a half.

Food was delicious. Service was very slow. My order was unfortunately forgotten. There were quite a few children zipping around between tables. I was accidentally sprayed with the cleaner that was being used to clean the tables 3 different times.I will try it again, maybe it was just an off day.

Not very often that we venture east into Hughson, but wow... what a nice surprise to find a great restaurant so close! Food was awesome; recommending the Pollo con Crema y Rajas as now officially my favorite dish (until I try something else...). Found the "Margarita Flights" unique and very good! Salsas were excellent, two spicy and one mild, but all full of flavor. We will be back to try the remaining dishes on the menu... thanks for a great experience!
