Tried to get some golf in on my day off, but after the rain we had, I must say it was a challenge. Most of the fairways were still a little soggy. I had a great time tho, & will definitely be back on a better weathered day for sure.

Me and my son played here for our first time yesterday and what a surprise it was. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were very nice and the layout is spectacular. We will be back real soon to play it again. Good prices as well.

San Juan Oaks Round of Golf in Review January 27th, 2019Check it out, it’s been a while since I last played San Juan Oaks, as the last time prior to this latest outing was in September 2018 with my Cousin, and we had a blast at that time, but this time, was even better, it was like San Juan Oaks, 2.0!I was delighted to notice immediately that there was an upgrade made to the cart fleet at the “Oaks” as they are all now equipped with the most user friendly and GOLF RELEVANT GPS systems, information which made for a truly unique, and whole new way to play and experience my local-home town course. You can even order lunch and keep score all through the carts applications which was NICE! Not to mention, they look classy going back to the khaki base with a sleek new black top roof… all combined makes it a fun cart to drive all throughout the round. As usual the pro shop staff at the front counter was nice and prompt to get me out on the range (or tee) quickly, which was great as it gave me a little extra time on the practice chipping green 😊!The range was in great shape, as usual, and I was lucky enough to play and not have any wind that day, so that was a bonus from the Golf Gods.Course conditions are the in some of the best they have ever been which is why it was a tough day from the championship tees. The fairways were like carpets, the boundary lines were freshly marked, and the greens were softer, fast, and smooth. I cannot complain one bit about the conditions of the greens that day, there was not one noticeable blemish, and they all rolled true. Practice makes perfect!San Juan Oaks has always been a nice place to test all parts and limits of my game and have fun, but with SJO 2.0 golf carts on standby ready to roll, I found it much easier and a TUN OF FUN to do it now, and I cannot wait to play here again. Pace of play was noticeably faster thanks due to the GPS carts, and due to marshals out on the course keeping pace. I will be back soon, just got to let the current stormy weather let up a little bit and pass us by.Much thanks to everyone out at SJO for a great way to ease into the work week, and cheers too much more enjoyable rounds in the future!Alan Travasso

Fred Couples signature hole #6. Golf course is in great condition except for bunkers. Like most golf courses these days there's no sand in the bunkers.

I was traveling to California, visiting family and found myself at the San Juan Oaks Restaurant and Golf Club... I was impressed with the architecture, the beauty of the surroundings and that was even before setting foot, inside the building... We were greeted by a friendly and attentive staff, who showed us to a well appointed table... Our Waitress, Jaculyn, was amazing, she was professional friendly and we wanted for nothing... The inside of the restaurant was just as impressive as the exterior, and the views of the expansive golf course, was beautiful and added to the ambience of our surroundings... All in all a wonderful experience was had, by all... I would recommend the restaurant for the tasty food, wonderful service and the incredible view... I don't golf, but this place made me want to give it a shot... Thank you to all the staff, for making our visit a memorable and enjoyable one...

Great layout in a beautiful setting. Very challenging with two different front and backlayouts. Front being flatter with wide open fairways and water and the back through the rolling hills with a lot of elevation changes. Calm in the morning and windy in the afternoon which really added to the challenge. We started at 10:00, so we got a taste of both. Pace of play is about 4.5 hrs. Only real criticism was the lack of sand in the traps. Greens were firm and held the ball well. Fast with the grain and quite bit slower against the grain. As other's have pointed out, add sand to the traps and this is a five star layout. Club house is very nice and the food was ok. No complaints with the service. Nice range and practice facilities.

Really nice course and facilities. Incredible views & the staff is very attentive. I went with friends who were greeted by name by several staff members. Lots of challenging fairways & greens. Golfing the San Andreas fault line is a very California thing to do 😊

Love San Juan oaks. Such a unique course layout. Fairways are beautiful. Greens are perfect. Play the front nine aggressively but play smart on the back and place your tee shots strategically. Course is a blast!

Great golf course, lovely views; except greens tend to be slow, is that the intention ? Some of the bunkers could use more sand.Awesome friendly professional pro shop staff , cart operations staff and snack shack personnel. (Pls keep more of the super pretzels in stock). Please open the restaurant and bar!! It’s been closed too long.AND open the course on Monday and /or Tuesday. Thanks !

Had a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch while seated at the outdoor patio. Ordered the ham & cheese sandwich with fries. It wasn't anything special. Just so so. The service was good & the waitstaff was friendly. I would definitely try it again but perhaps order something different. I did however truly enjoy the relaxing atmosphere & the show the wild turkeys put on. Apparently they knew I watching. There was no extra charge for that!

One of the best golf courses in the area. The green play fast and the course layout gives you quite a challenge. Not to mention the afternoon winds add a degree of difficulty to your round. The food and beverage after the round is very good too.

One of be best courses in the area. The clubhouse, beautiful Spanish architecture, and the countryside setting are very attractive. The course is in good shape and the rough is low so you an find those occasional erratic shots.

Fairways were pristine, bunker sand was good. Greens had been punched and sanded but we were apprised of that - made for an easier day putting as you could hammer putts that were usually more treacherous. Only negative was slow group 3 groups ahead of us kept us all waiting - a marshal would have been a plus.

We had a great time at San Juan Oaks. The course was in beautiful condition and it is a challenging back nine. Fairways and greens were perfect. I only wish they had a senior rate.

Front nine was most enjoyable and a good warm up for a challenging back nine. Hoping to meet the back with a little "course knowledge" next time. Overall course was in great shape, except for the mud traps...

I love that place. It's a place I get to go play golf with my favorite uncle. But really it's a beautiful coarse. The greens are good & the whole place is well maintained. A tip if can play early before it gets to windy because then it becomes a really tough coarse out there.

Hollister’s best golf course, it’s nice to see their going to remodel it even though it doesn’t need it.Im giving it one star due to the fact their planing to build houses around it. No more beautiful views.

I like the course but it’s really a shame to play a qualifier were bunkers were unplayable. Also I came home and discovered four days later that I got poison oak all over my arms from playing San Juan Oaks. Someone in the pro shop should let people know that it’s out there and be careful!

A real gem! A nice layout with beautiful views, I feel like I'm on vacation when I play here. Definitely worth the drive if you're staying anywhere near the Monterey coast. If you have played Blackhorse and bayonet and not willing to take out a second mortgage to play the Pebble Beach tracks, this should be next on your list. The only reason I didn't give 5stars is because of the lack of sand in the bunkers which make them all but unplayable I hear there are no plans to fix them anytime soon, which is really a shame.

Sooo good!! I haven't tried anything I haven't loved yet. Salads are huge and delicious, burgers bomb...even the soups are awesome and i'm not a soup lovin person. The events I've been to there are beautiful. I definitely recommend having a banquet there or going there on Valentines day, you won't be disappointed i.m.o.

Lovely course. Beautiful scenery. Fun to play, but if you're a Bad Golfer (like me), and not in the fairway, your ball is gone. I mean, you can look for it, but you're more likely to find a rattlesnake than your ball.

Amazing course, very well kept and excellent service. Some odd holes that add to a very unique experience. Great food, run a beer cart often and wonderful location for weddings.

was recently going to practice at coyote creek, but since it was 100 degrees at the time at coyote creek, i headed down to san juan oaks where it was a mere 79 degrees with a nice cooling breeze, nice practice facility, a challenging golf course with a friendly staff. two thumbs up! a good place to go when you want to get away from the heat but dont want or cant make it to the coast.
