Why does this store always smell like dead fish? I know other stores that sell fish and the smell does not greet you at the door. It's awful and makes for a short shopping experience.

This is one of our original grocery stores in the area. They have very competitive prices and it is more relaxing to shop here. They stock a lot of the International food items and they have great selection of meats at affordable prices. Parking is also not a problem here.

Unfortunately, they are always understaffed. Store is very clean. Shelves are always stocked. It's just that you can never find help. Self checkout is almost never staffed. Out of four machines, on average two machines are working.

No employee to be found for self check out. I hustle up an employee, Nancy, to help a fellow patron, then myself. As it turns out when Nancy and myself return to the self checkout area,, all four patrons are in need of service. Good ol' Nancy helps everyone else but myself. I remind the incompetent employee I'm still in need of a price override. Once again Nancy shines me on. Thanks NANCY!

I've been going to Lucky's for over four years now. The employees are courteous, friendly, helpful , and professional. Also a nice clean store. Prices are pretty good as well. Overall A great place to shop. I definitely recommend this store.July 20, 2023 : Still the same great employees, which is some what rare to see, but definitely a good sign. Continues to be a great place to grocery shop and I still highly recommend this store!

1 cashier when there are 8 people in line? The management here need to step up. Place is always understaffed and at least 1 of the self check out machines are broken. No wonder people go to safeway even if their parking sucks.

Kim in the bakery dept. Is THE BEST !! Every year she has done the most beautiful cakes for our daughter's! From special doll cakes, to sparkle cakes, she is truly talented, and they taste even better than they look! 🎂 You just bring her a pic of the idea you want, and she does that or even better! If you don't have all the pieces, she thinks of creative ways to make it happen. People always give us the best complements about how awesome our birthday cakes are, and it's all thanks to her love she pours into her work. I always like to keep Kim in the loop when I'm ordering a cake. 👌🏾

Is it me or is the front end of Lucky's have very disgruntled employees working up front? Especially the cashiers! They act like we are bothering them at their job. Cashier Steve was lazy when scanning large/heavy items in my cart. I KNOW he is able to use the scanner gun like everyone before him. He actually made ME lift, carry and find the bar code for him. Nobody has EVER done that my entire life living in Herc since 1981. Today, cashier Jaden, did not greet me so I said hello. He was mute. Bagger acknowledged me and had great customer se vice skills til the end of the transaction. I also said thank you to Jayden ...and to my surprise, he was still mute and just handed me my receipt. Lucky needs to do better. My n xt step is to write corp since none from the store responds to my compliments & complaints up in here.

I was in a hurry and mistakenly left my credit card at self checkout. Left the store and went to another store...when I realized my card was missing. Hurried back to Lucky's and was told no one had seen it. Call my bank and cancel card. Later on, I called the store and was told it was indeed there and I could pick it up. Upon arriving, the manager had safely tucked it away in the safe. Lucky's you are the BEST!!! Thank you!!!

Used to be a regular customer, first time after more than 10 years not been inLucky, I meet unfriendly employees who are indifferent (just as before). Checkout person did not put all the things in the bags I bought and dumped them in the shipping cart. One item was supposed to be $12 for 3, when I checked the receipt, it rang up $5.99 for 1 that I actually paid. I enjoy Trader Joe, Sprouts, Costco, and Safeway, not going back to Lucky again with this experience.

Lines were long! Saturday early afternoon, but self-checkout was easy & fast! Found items easily 🙌 organic banana 🍌 & cilantro. Clerk in meat department helpful & efficient bagging shrimp!

Lines are always long and slow and there are never enough cashiers. Items are organized in a strange way. I have been coming to this store for few years now and I am still wasting time walking from isle to isle looking for things. Also, the meat department is small, not that many choices compared to other stores. I wish we had another big grocery store (like Safeway) in this town as a competition. Maybe that would force Lucky to improve things.

Luckys is good but often cannot maintain stock on popular items. I find them at the Pinole store so not sure what the problem is. They need to stop wiping off the belt between shoppers as it backs up the line.

I always got great service and great deals from this store.It also has a cozy atmosphere.Safeway, just opened a brand new store about 2 blocks away, but I still love going to this Lucky store.

Today Lizzie V. made my day. She was working the deli and she gave my daughter and I great customer service. She was friendly and has a great smile. I will be coming back soon because Lizzie has great customer service and that is what luckys been missing.

Average quality groceries: O rice/quality. Staff always super helpful. Plenty of parking. Lines usually 3 or less. No in stock issues. Produce, Butcher, Bakery quality average to good.

The outside trash can was left overfilled with garbage. The outside LUCKY employee, who was collecting the carts in the parking lot nearby and was putting them in their proper place outside the store, did not pay attention to my comment made to him to empty the garbage can. Again, I told him to empty the outside garbage can, which was overfilled with garbage and was leaking garbage on the pavement, but he didn't do it. Bad service.

Terrible experience again can't get the turkey sandwich th have available, the turkey with the Fig and ciabatta bread. They never have any of the ingredients necessary to make the sandwiches that they advertise. third week in a row I've had a problem with them making their sandwiches that they build to sell you. This time the staffed but it be to three different sandwich makers and then they just kind of laughed at me when they realized I could get the sandwichI called the manager Dave and he promised to make everything right for me next week

This place has a terrible cat litter box smell right as you come in the door. Gross. The staff is nice, but the smell hits me right when I enter and it makes me nauseous.

Today is a very pandemic year, Lucky's is one of the best stores I know here in Hercules, but I noticed none of them are telling their customers to practice social distancing. I think they should implement that at all times.

They put in new flooring on uneven floors.Dont believe me? Go here and find out lol. Its like walking up and down some hills. 4 stars cz its clean and all the staff here are very nice. If you spend all that money on floors, might as well do it right. Im just saying

It has wide isles. They have decent fish products. I usually go to health foody type stores but this Lucky store has bay shrimp which I sometimes get a hankering.

Customer service is what gives this 3⭐️ stars. The store is good but in serious need of renovation. I hope Lucky's prepared to see the potential and invest in our city.
