Very convenient place to shop when you are in Silver Lakes. Nice little store with the essentials. It's clean and the people working here are friendly. The prices are a little bit higher here but not much more than a big super market. I will say this as a resident of Silver Lakes, if you need anything and do not want to drive 17 miles to Victorville or Barstow come here. I also recommend people taking a trip on Route 66 stop by for snacks and beverages at Silver Lakes Market.

Just moved to the area spoke to a very pleasant woman they do accept EBT cash and snap here which is great for the area because there’s no local market until Victorville

Friendly staff, big selection for a tiny store. Higher prices but not uncommon for places without buying power of chain stores.

The boss is very nice likes to have conversations about products and the pricing here. The cashiers are nice, they don’t have an attitude towards EBT transactions anymore not that I’ve experienced, many are struggling at this time 2023! Please be understanding. Some don’t even want to use EBT but need too must be able to put food on the table. Even Seniors. With the high food cost it’s gonna be more EBT users and some are out working as we know, just want once again say they aren’t rude here about EBT customers. Times Change..

Let me first tell you about the staff. From the very first time I visited this place (years ago) the staff always made me feel welcome. Often, they greet you as you walk in the door! Even though they don't know me, it feels good. I feel like I'm part of the store if that makes any sense. Now that I've been coming here for six months, they feel like family even though I don't know their names. I always see plenty of staff walking the store and if I look like I'm lost they ask if I need help. It makes you just want to join in and work there also. The only store I know that compares is Trader Joe's.So, the selection is not immense, but they usually have almost anything I am looking for. Walking around the aisles, I walk through their toiletries and right to their wine and beer section. Decent selection and prices although I pretty much stick with my favorites. Candy, chips, and soda to my right but I head down the dairy, fresh eggs, milk, juices, etc. You'll find a few different brands and sizes of everything. Swing around to the frozen and ice cream. They often have specials on ice cream (and other stuff) so I always grab a box or quart of some chilly concoction.Moving on to another cold case with cheeses, hot dogs, deli meats, and then the beef, chicken, pork and so on. Again they always have some deal on a few cuts and since I'm a serious carnivore I grab something here too. Although it's not Prime, their prices on beef are pretty good. There's a butcher in the back right there in case you are looking for something special.(Okay, I just realized that I shop this store clockwise and focusing mainly on my left and the aisle I am in. I don't really wander much down the other aisles for cat/dog food, household, and canned goods. Interesting (for me) to reflect on one's own behavior patterns.)Continuing to the produce, not a huge selection here, (one and half aisles) but they do have the basics. A lot of the produce is priced pretty high, but based on the rest of the store I'm pretty sure they're not marking this stuff up and getting rich here. It's just expensive to get fresh produce delivered and it's just plain expensive everywhere. Finally, breads, crackers, cookies and pastry and a nice selection of Hispanic goods. All of this is packaged, there's no "freshly baked here" stuff, but I really wouldn't expect that in any small town. Once in a while you'll find something out of the ordinary and made a little closer to home. Hard liquor is near the checkout. So, I don't usually go down the other aisles much, but they've got pet food, household goods, fishing supplies, soda and waters, cleaning supplies, canned and packaged goods, rice, etc. When we l moved here, I was a little concerned that not only would this store have a limited selection of items, but the prices would be out of this world. I was wrong. By the way, they also have gasoline here (no diesel) and with your debit card and active participation in their store program you can get a nice discount equaling retail prices in the city.Needless to say, this is the first place I go when shopping and if they don't have it which is unusual, I can often wait until I go into town. I've shopped a few times at the "other" store here, but a lot of their food items are expired and not any cheaper. Again, the staff make this store who are always very friendly, helpful and available. Everyone really goes out of their way to put a smile on your face.

Who would ever think that a small market like this could match pricing of larger stores and even beat their prices? The quality of meat and produce is great and they have it all, or if not, will order. Staff could not be better.

Seemed good, but I've only been there a few times during the day. Don't know about it in the evening. Not saying it's a bad place, the community around there is clean and a lot of professionals live there, so once again I can't honestly say anything about the evening. The employees have always been nice and very courteous, they all seem very personable. Prices are good, but it is a market in a desert community. Almost forgot, gas is available.

Very friendly and helpful staff. There is all the basics you need packed into the small looking space (from the outside). I prefer giving my business to local places like these guys vs the big chain stores because you get way more personable experience. The staff even knows many customers by name. Another big plus is the butcher shop has some nice fresh cuts that are done with a good level of skill. The ground beef is made fresh from the trim they have from the steaks/roasts they cut which is super hard to find these days. No factory mystery meat here.

Most small town markets charge 7 bucks for an apple because they know you don't have a choice. SLM, however, charges very reasonable prices, and the selection is really good for such a small place.

My late husband and I loved to come to the lake and stay at the inn. We always stopped here on our way in and stocked up. Everyone is so nice and helpful and the store is clean and has everything you need.

The store is very nice has interesting items. BUT staff. apparently are not fond of poor people who use eBT. CASHIER MADE SURE TO SPEAK LOUDLY ABOUT ME USING IT, so everyone in line behind me would hear. The cashier also proceeded to get annoyed when I did not pay with exact change for the cash &'

SLM has just about anything you are looking for, including fresh meat that is cut right there. Everyone that works there is knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Prices are a little higher than in town (17 no away), but by the time you figure your fuel, wear & tear on your vehicle, etc, it pays off. I am not talking about doing your major shopping there, however they do have some great sales, especially the meat.

This wonderful family owned market has great prices especially since all their products must be trucked in off route. That means some big vendors won’t put Silver Lakes Market on their routes because it’s “too far” from the large cities! They’re honest, fair and run an excellent market! They’re so friendly - and will even order products for you personally whenever they can. Ask Ron about that - he’s in charge of ordering. Some people whine about a small fee that the credit card companies charge the MARKET for small transactions. Really? Cash works for those kinds of orders. People are spoiled and seem to think only about petty things. This gem of a real grocery store has served Silver Lakes for 30 years! You save one heck of a lot of gas, time and hassle shopping here. Be grateful we have this market and support them every chance you get.*I am a 15 year supporter of SLM. I have no family working here but they’ve always made me feel like I am!

Visiting from out of town and was pleasantly surprised with the variety of food and other products available. Was greeted by everyone there, and everyone was very helpful with all my questions on where things were. Pleasant service and good first time experience.

I love the people here, they really connect with people in that small town, although good deals happen sometimes, everything is quite limited and pricy at times, but for specifics if you're a local😎 you will find your favorite generic classics and Instantly know what you want while enjoying this friendly community, I wish it had more variety though, shopping for the same thing gets old...

This little market has been here for years. They can be a little pricey but they do have a little bit of everything in the middle of the desert. The people who work here are always friendly and very helpful.

Great we have this little market in the community. Don't like the nickle-diming like a charge for atm for small purchases. Not when this cust shops regularly. If there is a good sales price on an item you can be sure you gotta spend $20 to get it. And loyalty cards...please. Been living here 20 yrs plus. I AM loyal! But not gonna change..gotta support the whole fam. Still glad they here. Would shop more but for the penny pinch.

It is a local market with a friendly staff and very well stocked to find about anything you are looking for, meat and produce sections. It is also convient because the nearest supermarket is about 20 miles away. They also have fishing supplies and sell gas.

We were visiting family in Silverlakes, where we also lived for 9 years. It was fun to go back to the market and remember all the times I ran down there to pick up odds and ends for some meal or something. Oh the memories.

I was just starting to like this place till now Very disappointed from the response of one of their cashier's. I don't think that was a professional way to treat a paying customer that just payed for $216 of gasoline, having a line of payingcustomers waiting to pay when it's close to closing time is not a justifiable excuse for treating a paying customer in a awful manner, what a inconvenience don't think I will go back as much as I used to .not after this bad experience.FYI it's not the customers fault the fuel pumps don't give receipts after purchasing fuel at the pump , their should be something done about that too prevent this bad experience from happening again!

It's a very convenient market. Very well stocked and good variety. It's quite a bit marked up but you do pay for the convenience of not having to drive 15 miles in either direction.

If you need something and don't want to drive 40min to the nearest big chain grocery store, this is the place to go. The increased price of product here is what you'd spend in both gas and time going to the nearest big chain grocery store.
