I'm no country girl 🤠, so pardon my 🏙️ city-slicker culture shock, but I found this store so quaint and charming (much like the rest of Half Moon Bay). Surprise BUNNIES & CHICKS were the highlight of my day! 🐇🐰🐥🐤😍They don't have much in the way of supplies for cats and dogs, but they have some very unique items for farm animals, rabbits, chickens and other birds, that I imagine would otherwise be difficult to find in a brick & mortar store. Wanna pick up chicks? Need a harness for your cock? They've got you covered! 🐣🐓I heard one of the employees discussing chicken feed options with a customer, and while I know next to nothing about chicken feed, he sounded extremely knowledgeable on the subject!Even if you don't need supplies, it's a great detour off the main strip to look around and feel like you just traveled back in time or teleported to another land.Kids will for sure enjoy looking at the bunnies and baby chicks! 🐇🐰🐇🐣🐤🐥 I actually feel bad for them, as I doubt they enjoy the constant stream of strangers gawking and children squealing and trying to poke through the cage :/ but I have to admit they are adorable and I couldn't help myself. 😍They had several Netherland dwarfs, 2 very large floppy-eared rabbits, a guinea pig, 2 types of chicks, ducks, and a mystery bird that we conjectured were baby turkeys. The chicks seemed to be available in 2 different age-groups.When we approached the cash register, a lady placing what seemed to be a very large order at the counter was arguing over the price of some bag of feed. She seemed unsure of what she wanted, but had commandeered the attention of 2 employees at the register, and had them both engaged in a haggling dispute for several minutes. By the time she was pulling out her phone to try to justify her stance, another employee could see the long line forming, as well as the fact that it wasn't going anywhere any time soon. She peeked around the front desk and noticed that we only had 2 small items, and offered to "ring us up" if we could tell her the prices of each item. Thank goodness! Otherwise who knows how long we might have been stuck waiting behind that woman. You'd think that perhaps they'd have a separate area for placing long, involved orders, like a customer service desk or something, but I don't know how often they encounter that sort of problem. Here's hoping it was just a fluke. 🤞

Nice selection of farming supplies, feeds, chicks, and rare items. The atmosphere is country and family friendly. I come here just to get pine pellets for my pet. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. A good place to stop by if you are in the downtown area of Half Moon Bay.

"Best place in town to pick up chicks". ☺️ Got my chickens and my Netherland Dwarf bunny from Feed & Fuel. They have a lot of chicken breeds all year round. My favorites are Rhode Island Reds and Buff Orphingtons. They have all the chicken, rabbit, cat and dog feed and supplies you'd want.

My Rabbit loves the Hay we get from here and its only $5 dollars for a big bag. Definantly recommend if you have a rabbit. They also have doggy treats, chicken and duck feed and crickets which my bearded dragon also loves.

This is a good and proper feed store that we use to buy our chicken food. They have a large selection of chicken, horse and dog items. They also sell pullets.Established, rustic retail places like this are getting harder to find. Let's hope they never close.

Great historic location. Even walking through this great feed store is fun. It's packed full of great little corners and aisles and fun and sometimes very rare finds! A treasure trove for sure! Next time your in Half Moon Bay take a stop in and check it out. You will not be disappointed!

I like the country atmosphere and their wide selection of feed, souvenirs, baby chicks, supplies and unique items. The staff is friendly too.I was disappointed though to find some specialty domestic bird items are no longer carried. They had fewer bird toys than I've seen in the past and I used to find exotic blends of Zupreem. But it could be that Zupreem had discontinued those products and that they weren't big sellers for the store. Also I thought the prices were high, maybe twice what I've seen at other stores.Otherwise, it's a treat to go there. I bought a bird toy that was marked half off. I'd still recommend this place. It's a fun store with a great variety. My overall experiences there have been positive and the staff seems knowledgeable enough. 👍🏼

People say this place is great. My husband also had a great experience when he went in the gentleman was very nice. I Called about a chick that i had got, who ended up being a rooster it was a mixup about information and this women was so rude she was yelling at me over the phone I passed the phone to my husband while she yelled some more and before my husband could get a word in this women hangs up. I think the person who initially answer the phone said this women is in charge of the live stock and possibly name is Leslie. It was the worst experience and never was I rude to her I even told her why she was yelling at me I understood i had been told the wrong information.

Farm-centric feed store which sells chickens, chicks, and other fowl, along with everything you need to care for them. Got horses? This is also the place for you. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, good prices, and a lot of fun to take the kiddos on the weekend. Insider tip: park out back, there's almost always a couple spaces.

I love Half Moon Bay Feed and Fuel. Live chicks,ducklings,sometimes rabbits and mice to purchase. Outside there is a chicken coop with adult fowl which is almost like a visit to a farm, especially for kids. I have seen grasshoppers for sale, as well as ladybugs. Westernwear and everything for western riding. Really worth a visit. Helpful staff.If street Parking is filled up, go around back. Lots of free parking

Terrible customer service. Brianna's behavior is terrible towards customers. Their chickens die within 24-48 hrs...Brianna is not even willing to give advice etc....just keep repeating "we have the best birds..." which is quiet obviously not true. Do not take your chance just avoid them.

Great location for your 4H supplies and to pick up western wear/saddles along with a live chicken or two. They have all the feed and bedding you'll need to raise your all your livestock.Live rabbits and turkeys and other goodies, plus you can order anything for your ranch/farm right there from their freindly staff.A fun place to visit even if your not in need of feed or fuel.

I'm going to add to my review that I lost some of my most valuable birds that I received as gifts from this place or purchase myself in the recent Heat Wave where I moved to and there are absolutely no feed stores or hatcheries that sell anything remotely near the quality that this place does so I actually am going to plan on driving 200 miles back to this place and purchasing either hatching eggs if I purchase chicks I will pray that they make the 200 mile Journey they probably won't or get there and spend the night out front when they're selling their 3-month-old Birds IS THE ONLY TOTALLY COMPREHENSIVE feed, bedding, enclosure building supply, riding tack & apparel ( babies to XXL Adults ), amazing variety of country flavoured, quality gift items ( the handmade stuff is definitely desirable eye - candy ), famous Breyer®Collectibles, free horseman's magazines, Hobby Farms CHICKENS monthly, small yet attractive variety of DIY/info./docu./ books, OTC medications, remedies & 1st Aid supplies for kennels, ranchers & farmers, store between Santa Cruz & Berkeley that I actually know of, that is still in continuous operation, actually for nearly 110 yrs. Feeding what feeds us , supplying our ponds & barnyards with a rich variety of healthy, outstandingly beautiful, carefully chosen fowl, ( there is a large focus on feathered stock as well as keeping our beloved performance & companion animals sleek & healthy, Since 1911.The staff is friendly, helpful & knowledgable. The only place I can recommend to pick up chicks from in San Mateo County. I raise chickens myself , ALL FromHMB Feed ' n ' Fuel & they are all true champions at what they do. If you want great chicken feed grab some of the Modesto Mills Organic feeds. Modesto Mills is a California company from the ground to the mill. They are well stocked here for a reasonable price. HMB feed and Fuel has a little bit of everything for everyone with animals.
