I was desperate to find a groomer since I'm leaving town on Sunday and I want to be sure to take my pups with me. Going on a vacation to see a good friend who just couldn't quite make it here this time. Went into the shaggy dog and asked her if there was any possibility of getting my two Yorkies groomed and God bless Lynette she said absolutely sure and I'll tell you the dogs got home at about 7:30 tonight. I know she stayed overtime and I am so very grateful. The grooming was perfect! They're absolutely adorable. I'm extremely happy and satisfied. Thank you Lynette and I think it was Steven for taking the time to do me a favor. I know you were exhausted by the time the dogs were picked up..

We are passing through and needed our newly adopted Maltipoo bathed and trimmed. They got us in the next day and did a terrific job. Our puppy looks SO much better.

I don't typically give reviews if I don't like the service, but I hope to save someone else the frustration I'm feeling now. My son took our 8 month old English Sheepdog (yes an actual shaggy dog) to this establishment. He was there 7 HOURS! They shaved him down completely, parts of his ears, face and nose down to bare skin, left patches of hair and for some reason chose not to cut the top of his head the same length AND didn't trim his feet at all. When my son picked him up he was told they had to shave him close because "we don't brush our dog" he is brushed daily, they also charged him more than what my wife was told. They essentially blamed the puppy for their incredibly poor quality of work. I own a business and I don't take bad reviews lightly, but think twice before using this place.

Came for our appointment last week and no one was there. No explanation but rescheduled us for today. I took my dog in despite being in a lot of pain myself only for them to decide not to groom our dog again. No explanation again, just sent us away but took other dogs to groom. This is two times in a row where our schedule has been completely disrupted with no warning or concern from the business. I was up in tears from pain for a hour this morning but I didn’t want to cancel on a small business last minute so I showed up anyways. They couldn’t even do me the courtesy of calling to say they needed to reschedule. Apparently their long time customers mean nothing to them and I should have just stayed in bed rather than put myself through more pain for their benefit. We were given a bogus number for the owner.

We have four dogs and the Shaggy Dog has the best people working in there shop, each dog that is brought in to get a bath, haircut, nails trimed they are pampered and treated as if they are royalty and they come out looking that way. The staff takes it's time to talk to you about what is going to be the best for your dog, I live where there are nothing but foxtails and my puppy is a Multipoo and is always full of them so he gets a foxtail cut. Just try them out, be patient as they are busy, but they take the care and time on each pet. This is my Arthur and he is deaf but the groomers are so patient with him and he always looks wonderful.

Stood out side today for an hour past my appointments time. There were others waiting as well. Michelle didn't show up for work and the owner didn't answer her phone. A new employee was also waiting outside he said he called and texted her several times with no response. An hour later.he said she messaged the new employee and said she wasn't coming in today. How can you run a buisness like this? At least call your clients and tell.them you closed up shop for the day. My time is important apparently you don't need my buisness so I'm moving on.

I will never ever take my pup to this place again! They yell at the dogs I have heard them when they thought they put me on hold and a man’s voice was yelling at the dog’s 🤬 they cute my pup around her private area and also scalped her back left leg. when I picked her up, she was traumatized with drawn not happy. I do not recommend this place and besides that they don’t even let you come in the building.

Been there a couple of times just to get my boys nails trimmed, they've hurt him, bad, both times... just trimming his nails! He's 10 years old and has NEVER yelped or cried when getting his nails clipped, ever! No wonder they don't let anyone come into the lobby, hide behind the partition and close the front door. I won't ever go back. No telling what they're doing to all the other poor babies. Very bad attitudes there as well, she acted almost grumpy, like it was a burden that my boy yelped in in pain instead of admitting she screwed up.... again, or try to do a better job or be more gentle. Bad, bad business! You've been warned!

We take our 2 dogs there every 2 months... our experience since we have taken our dogs there are very good. The staff is super cool and they are very understanding since I'm always late to my dogs appointments...

Would NEVER recommend this place. Spoke to staff both when scheduling and when dropping her off, told them not to cut either her tail or ears and they said they understood and had alternate ways of removing her small matts in those places. Picked up my shih tzu/yorkie with a poodle haircut and the exact opposite of what I asked. Was told they had to completely shave her because "you dont brush her enough". I've never been so disappointed in "professional" service and this one experience with The Shaggy Dog has proven to me why I have always opted to groom her myself. Terrible experience.

We are on vacation in Pismo Beach and my standard poodle needed a bath before heading back home. I called around and Shaggy Dog Grooming was able to fit her in. I give them an A+ rating! They were personable, kind and did a wonderful job on my poodle - she was in only for a bath but they shaved her face, cuffs and base of tail along with her personal area. They blew her dry, she was so fluffy, she looks like a teddy bear! My regular groomer never did the job of this groomer, in fact I had decided to clip her myself because I was so dissatisfied with my regular groomer. I highly recommend Shaggy Dog Grooming!

My dog has been going to various groomers for years and years. I have never heard my dog cried like he did when i went to pick him up, he is a quiet dog. He has been shaking, won't eat, and is very scared like I've never seen him before.I don't know what they did to my dog, but I'm not coming back that's for sure.

Took my Yorkie for trim and came out a bald little boy and very tramatized. Took over month to get back to normal. Do not take ur pet here if u love them.😨

The best ever. My Pup went for her first grooming. Came out a happy dang Poodle instead of the ragamuff she went in as. Real dog people who care. Not the cheapest but tip heavy anyway, worth it.

I've been going to shaggy dog now.. daily for about 7 yrs and I love it .of course there are ups and downs to a salon but I consider shaggy dog my family not just another job. Lannette coxon the owner of shaggy dog is the most laid back chill boss I've ever had she nvr raises her voice she gives me the freedom I need in grooming and she's funny and loooovvves conversation.and a darn good groomer who loves dogs and even more cats.that being said we are looking for another groomer or even a bather willing to step up and learn to groom.

Horrible just horrible . I've taken my dog their atleast 4 or 5 times . First to show up last to leave why should a cut last 6 hours when it used to only take 2. My dog is now very sick in the pet e.r due to their lack of skills. They turns out they have been draining his glands and I never ask them to and they e been doing it wrong . Now my 7 pound dog is in pet e.r wont drink or goto bathroom and is having major prostate problems . My dog is my child and if yours is to dont take them here . It may not happen alot but it happened to me . Please be warned and careful. And to the wana be vet tecks their this isnt the last you have heard of this . You hurt the wrong dog

I love this place and they are more than happy to cut my big dogs nails even though he is not a big fan. They work with him to calm him down, which is really nice. But sometimes I call when Google says they are open and they are not. But I plan on trying again today!

Shaved my moms malimute husky completely bald! You are not suppose to shave huskys! Spoke with owner or supervisors and they basically said that it would take a long time to comb her so they shaved her instead. Then they told me that my mom requested her to be shaved but she did not! She has never ever shaved her Husky!Before and after photos attached! My mom has been to a lot of other groomers none of them have ever been too lazy to comb her. She was not called or told her dog would be or needed to be shaved!

Absolute garbage. Did nothing that I asked for, were unprofessional, and did a terrible job. Asked for my dog to have half of its hair trimmed off (keep in mind my dogs hair was 6 inches long) and I came in to pick her up and she had been shaved (unevenly). When these things were brought to the staffs attention they tried to say that “it was the way the hair layed. Actual trash.

They pulled a muscle in my cats leg and didn't let me know anything was wrong. They did not check on the my cat after a groom. So if your animal is injured there, they will refuse to take responsibility. They will not pay the vet bill.
