Nice area, and the heart of where the snow starts. This is the best area for your family to be safe, rest, use the bathroom, and play in the snow. There are vending machines, and plenty parking. The family can play in the wildlife just near the facilities.

I thought this place was beautiful. The Landscaping is to die for. Plenty of vending machines and the bathrooms were very clean. Plenty of parking and plenty of parking for big rigs. I hope I get a chance to stop here again it's wonderful

Take a break and dont drive tired, HWY 80 can be fast and occasionally dangerous from here so best be alert. Splash some water on your face, stretch and put your phone down. On a side note: This rest stop was my dogs favorite. I know that seems silly, but now that he is gone, it's my favorite too.

This is a one of the nicest Rea tops I visited. it doesn’t get any more nature than this gorgeous backdrop of pine trees. Good spot to take a long rest picnic or a walk. They have vending machines and it’s pet friendly. There are however rattlesnake warnings go with caution.

Hasn't been maintained in a long time. Trash cans are overflowing, bathrooms have TP strewn everywhere, vending machines have disappeared. It could be a nice place with history, but it's just a mess at the moment.

Stopped by here around 5am due to my semi needed a REGEN. It was quiet except my loud engine doing the regeneration process so I didn't park near other semi trucks besides I didn't plan on sleeping here. Used the restroom and walked around the area since I'll be here for at least 45 min(it takes to complete REGEN). The outside area seem to be clean, restroom is also clean with toiletries. The vending machines outside the building are all empty though. Overall not a bad rest stop.

It is very nice. Kept rest area and it's pretty looks pretty safe at night. I didn't get out of my car. I had to do something.

They have a well lit 8 hour parking area where you can get some sleep.

Stopped here on our way to Reno from Bay area. Very scenic place, with clean bathrooms. Also plenty of parking for autos and trucks. Well maintained rest area. Good place to stop and take a break on long drives.

Up in the pines where it is cooler and restful. Nice restrooms, commodious and well-maintained, it's a perfect place to get out of your car and stretch your legs, taking a stroll down one path or another, or let your kids run off some energy. In the winter there's snow to play in!

I just drove until I found this spot, where I sat and relaxed for a while. Decent scenery, vending machines, picnic tables, and even a smallish trail you can walk if you need to stretch your legs.

Headed East bound on highway 80, there is a Rest Area in Gold Run that has the the look of a resort more than a Rest Area. Nestled in a wooded area offering log cabin type facilities, there is plenty of room for cars, big rigs, pets and travelers needing a time out from a long drive. The designers hit it out of the park with this creative project that blends in with the surroundings and gives drvers a chance to get back on the road with renewed vigor.

Womens bathrooms were clean, fully stocked and this stop in particular has mirrors, which is nice for anyone looking to freshen up after a long drive.Also, I usually open the stall doors to check and see if I'm alone or not- one bathroom stall was locked from the inside with no one in it.The bathrooms are less than 10-15 feet from the parking spots and there was plenty of lighting around the building, so I luckily didn't have to worry about any lurkers hanging out in the shadows.There's a big grassy area- great for letting your dogs or kids run around.

Not only can you stop to do just about anything like check your car, clean your car, go to bathroom, ECT. But the best thing about this rest stop is the scenery. Look around and smell the air, walk to the side of the restrooms and they have some really cool trees and acorns over the sides of the rails. This is why I enjoy this rest area the most and decided to leave it a positive review. God Bless
