Dinner on our second night in Sonoma was in the charming town of Glen Ellen, just south of Santa Rosa. Most of us chose the Prix Fixe dinner at "the fig cafe & winebar" featuring Duck Confit with one outlier having the pasta with wild boar. All paired with delicious Pinot Noirs from Niagara and California that we brought with us since the have very reasonable corkage. Another night to be remembered!

Similar to its sister restaurant, the food was out of this world. 🤤 Unfortunately, our waitress never came by our table after we ordered, and she forgot my wife’s drink. It was a busy night—and they appeared short-staffed—but she walked by us multiple times without checking in. All that said, it was a lovely meal and we would go back!Vegetarian options: MUST order the polenta…!

I’m completely smitten by The Fig Cafe. From the ambiance, the excellent service and attention to detail is just extraordinary. The food and menu are excellent. Our server Willy was a pleasure to interact with and it’s clear every employee loves their job. Dinner was just delicious, good size portions expertly prepared. The highest quality with reasonable prices. I’ll give Fig a rousing 10/10. I can’t wait to return.

based on what we experienced last night, this is an average place... restaurant was cold inside when we got there and never really warmed up even after an hour while filled with people! management needs to acknowledge that unlike the moving staff, people sitting at table need to be eating their meal in a warm environment and it was just not it. Waiter was polite, friendly and available when needed.we ordered wines by the glass and not cheap at $16 average per glass...food was delivered without a long wait but both entrees were luke warm not hot!!! one was sent back and was just average in taste, nothing special. Steak frites was fine...we ordered the brownie sundae for dessert and it was just ok, nothing out of this world. they charge $5 for bread if you order some so you know.waiter kindly took off one entree off the bill after my friend barely ate any of it, taste was too greasy. An overall average experience for this once great place we had visited 10 years ago.too bad.

As usual, a truly amazing restaurant with sensational food and amazingly warm welcome. Two years later… so good to be back to our favorite restaurant in Glen Ellen. Really enjoyed the delicious food and great service. A tad disappointed that there is now a corking fee! Pre-Covid, we were used to bring our own wine knowing that it would not add to our bill. It was a unique feature to the fig cafe. We were a little disappointed to see a $15 corking fee added to our bill tonight. Not for the fee itself (what is $15 on a bill that is well over $200), but it is more for the principle. I would seriously recommend the fig cafe to go back to free corking, as it was pre-Covid.

The white pizza with fig and pancetta should just be a permanent menu item as this was by far the best thing we ordered for dinner. My burger was really good, but copious amounts of garlic spread did come back to haunt me in the form of heartburn. But I'd probably eat it again if I'm in the area. They open bottles of wine which makes it a great place to enjoy at bottle you picked up at one of the nearby Vineyards. The staff was very nice, and helpful. Desert was mediocre.

Fantastic dinner experience in a casual yet elegant environment. Compliments to the chefs and the kitchen staff for maintaining such high level even after more than 20 years in the business. We came here on new year's eve and the wife had the set course menu with the main course being the short rib wild mushroom risotto. I had the Brussel sprouts, the signature fig arugula salad, and the chefs burger which was a relevation with those addictive fries. Service was friendly and competent. Overall a wonderful dining experience to cap off 2018.

Wonderful place. We tried all the specials. Bean soup (delicious). Pot roast (so tender). Beignets (straight from New Orleans).I really appreciated the portions, and that they were willing to split the entrées between me and my partner without any hassle. The wine list is also above reproach. Great variety of Sonoma county and external wines. Looking at you Bonny Doon from Aptos. When we come back to Glen Ellen, this will be on the list to visit again.

Fantastic option in Glen Ellen with very robust menu and wine selection.Had a salad and mushroom pizza. Everything was delicious and very filling. They usually have a daily menu with an appetizer, main and dessert. It's usually well priced so I'd recommend exploring that option as well. Oh and I was going to forget the fried chickpeas. Simply delicious and a great option with your wine.We were lucky to get seated immediately which made the experience even better.

We spent a lovely evening enjoying a delicious, fresh and flavorful meal at this wonderful gem that was lively, reasonably priced and had a wonderful and attentive waitstaff. We made reservations and glad we did because every table was full on a Tuesday evening but we were quickly attended to and our food arrived promptly. We loved the arugula and fig salad so much we purchased their delicious fig vinaigrette bottled dressing to take home. The brussel sprouts were some of the best we’ve had with lots of crispy pork belly, all tossed in a tangy sauce. My husband enjoyed a flavorful smoky burger with lots of yummy and creative toppings along with some delicious crispy hot fries. I opted for the appetizer bowl of fresh mussels in a fennel broth that came with crispy fries and charred bread. Perfection and a perfect entree sized portion! The restaurant is cozy and we chatted a bit with our neighbors, but it was a fun evening and the restaurant had a wonderful energy. Highly recommend a stop here if staying in or near Glen Ellen.

We weren't sure what to expect, we're staying overnight in Glen Ellen and chose the Fig almost at random. It is an absolute gem. The food was outstanding. Get the duck fat potatoes to start, they are a must-have. I had the pork sago as my main and it is out-of-this-world good, deep rich flavors. I'd come back just to eat that again. The pizza and King Salmon were really good too. The wine list is small, but full of excellent local bottles. The servers were friendly and helpful. The decor is fun and welcoming. The only slight letdown was the caramel compote desert, which was merely very good - a little too sweet and slightly cloying. But, don't worry, the brown sugar buttermilk cake was outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

Good, flavorful dishes. The polenta was particularly wonderful. The profiteroles were a nice end to the meal as well.

Stumbled upon this absolute gem of a place while visiting Glen Ellen! The staff are SO friendly and accommodating. I immediately loved the homey vibe as well; it seemed like a lot of regulars came back to eat and were recognized by the staff.Highly recommend brown sugar buttermilk cake!! I’m not a cake person at all but I devoured this one.

Delicious food, good service. Slightly crowded indoor seating but the meal was well worth it. The duck confit and steak were just perfect.

I like this place a lot. We stay at the Jack London Lodge when we are in the area, and the Fig is just around the corner. Menu tends to be on the lighter side - pizzas, etc - but you can get a heavier meal if you wish. Service is excellent, and the wines are local. It can get crowded, so booking ahead is advisable.

I've been here twice and was thoroughly impressed each time. Best burger of my life was from here. Their pizzas are really good too and they have a very generous complimentary corkage policy but if you do bring your own wine, please make sure to follow their guidelines (they have some rules about it so I'd probably check with them first).

Had dry Beef Bergeneon after I ordered more sauce, still too dry. Never had a bad meal there. 2 starts because the service was good. It was a Friday night with clients and didn't want to send back.

To be completely honest, the place was mediocre at best. Don’t get me wrong the food was good, but the overall service was just poor. The waitress that I had was lousy at checking in and bringing my food. I had about 3 other people give me my courses, not including “my waitress.” But again food is food and this food is very good. I recommend coming here if you have a few extra hours in you day because the wait/eat time was over 3 1/2 hours. To touch up on the wait, it was dreadful. Over 3.5 hours for dinner is horrible. It was a one hour wait for the appetizer. One hour for the main course, and one hour for dessert. It felt like I was in church. Just patiently waiting and then finally when it seemed like the wait was over it wasn’t. Again I would recommend coming here for the food only if you have around 4 hours of spare time.
