We loved our stay in the secret cottages.Well appointed, fun vibe, and a super good location. We ate nearby at the Glenn Ellen Star, and wine tasted at Talisman accross the street. In the morning we went down the street to Le Pascals, a great French cafe, for breakfast. The best collection of pillows and towels. We had a shower and a large jetted tub in our room. There was a coffeemaker in the room where we got enough to get us out of the house and on towards breakfast.A cute patio that looks over the river, which we could hear softly all night.

The cottages are so charming and in a great location! We stayed in Cottage #5. Winter is not the usual time to be in wine country, but this stay made it the perfect time to be there. It is next to the creek and was absolutely amazing to stay in. Opening the windows to listen to the water run over the rocks and having the fireplace going was while it was cold out made it feel cozy and relaxing. The owners attention to detail is notable and were very attentive to the comfort of our stay. I loved everything about the cottages and if I get the chance to come back to this area, I will definitely stay there again!

A wonderful, quiet, cozy little place to spend a romantic getaway. We stayed in the Creekside cottage, which has a great view. The location is nice as well, overall I was very happy with our stay and we will definitely be back soon.2023 Update: Still a superb hidden gem in the center of Glen Ellen. This would still be my first choice for lodging in the area. Karen is wonderful, helpful and accommodating and you really should stop reading this and plan a trip!

This place was absolutely wonderful! Down to every detail! The rooms were so so cute - had a fireplace and a Jacuzzi in each. There were little things like the tiny decorations And the makeup towels To the cozy blankets pillows and rugs that were strewn all over the bed chairs and floor. This was such a relaxing and beautiful Oasis, I can't wait to go back!

Great service and good food. Great selection of Martinis and a huge selection of wine. Cute atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food was enjoyable but not so good that we feel we must go back. However, as with all my reviews, mood and choice of entree play a huge role on how you feel about the food. Overall this restaurant is worth a visit.

Glen Ellen is in a great central point between Sonoma and Santa Rosa. The town had a great small town feel and the Glen Ellen Inn is in a quiet street off from the main drag. Karen has done everything to make you feel welcome and always makes herself available to assist with any concerns. Overall, we had a great time at Glen Ellen Inn and would recommend it to anyone!

Off the beaten path this place is worth the drive to eat and stay. The food is very well prepared and presented with flair. The menu is slightly limited but you should be able to find something for everyone. The wine list (book) is extensive and offers a few hundred choices. The cottages and there are only 7 of them make you feel at home. Very nicely done in a true cottage setting. Our room had a steam shower, fire place and two person jacuzzi tub. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with your choice to eat and stay at this secret hideaway. Probably not a place to bring the kids if you plan to stay since most folks there like ourselves were there for some quiet time.

This is a really cute little cluster of cottages, in the quaint town of Glenn Ellen. Two excellent restaurants adjacent to the property, and a block walk to an amazing French Bakery/Breakfast café. Our room was Creekside, spacious, and had an amazing steam shower and jacuzzi tub in our bathroom. Check in was easy and handled via a quick text message (the norm these days in Napa/Sonoma region). Host also made sure the room was well stocked with coffee, tea and snacks. This is a perfect stay for a romantic few night get away.

Best kept secret!! The cottages are gorgeous! The staff is friendly and so helpful! The food at the restaurant on site is fabulous!! Walking distance to several wineries. I recommend renting a convertible if you are renting transportation. I also recommend grabbing sandwiches at the Glen Ellen Market. They are delicious!!

We stayed for three nights in Secret Cottage #4. It was wonderful! Our breakfast nook looked over the quietly babbling creek. Everything was better than expected. Comfortable bed, clean, fresh fruit delivered to our Cottage daily. Fireplace and in-room hot tub were nice touches. The attached restaurant also had really great food. Other positives were Glen Ellen's Metro Market with fabulous deli and salad bar, and the Jack London Saloon if you like hanging with the locals. These places were only a two block walk.

Great little find. The food was perfect and the staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a Kobe Beef burger that has ruined normal burgers for me. Also had steak and shrimp seasoned with tarragon with potatoes (was a special). This is a beautiful, cozy and romantic place for dinner.

We were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation for the secret cottages behind the Glen Ellen inn restaurant. Karen was super accommodating. The cottages were clean and comfortable. I loved the steam shower! Good thing to note, their restaurant was closed on the Wednesday night that we stayed. I don't know if that's every Wednesday, but it wasn't a big deal! Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. 5/5, thanks Karen!

Nice cocktails. Enormous, seemingly never ending wine list. Fancy appetizers. Cozy little bar. Did not have dinner, so I can't speak to their menu. Service at the bar was quite expeditious. Wife and sister in law loved their drinks and apps. The beer list has some excellent beers, but the list is a bit on the short side.

Love love love. I am very picky and rearly leave any reviews. But this place is what my husband and I needed. Beautiful cottages next to a stream, fire place, huge shower, steam room, and the hot tubs are huge which was important since my husband is very tall and I am curvy. We will definitely come again. Plus the price was very reasonable.

We visted wine country last week. We stayed and dined here. Perfection is how I would describe the food! Beautifully presented and just as beautifully in my tummy. We had the halibut and crabcake, and for dessert the bread pudding. Superb! The rolls are just as great and too many to choose from martini's.We stayed in secret cottage #3. I so much appreciate B & B's over hotels. You will appreciate them, and they are far much better. This room was spacious, romantic, and had everything we needed. Very pleasant, and secluded. Plus, a walk away from the restaurant and Garden Court Cafe (for breakfast). The perfect getaway if you are on a wine country trip!

We ate lunch here one day and if we had more time in the area, we would have been back. The patio is great. You might want to make a reservation, even during lunch, because the place is very popular. I had a dish with mussels and french fries, it was fabulous!

One of our very favorite places to eat. Always take our out of town guests here for the food and service. Adorable cottages on the creek. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is the menu is a bit limited. Always very good but would love to see some rotation

As many other reviews have said, this is one of the best kept secrets in Glen Ellen. We were stopping by for one evening on a wine country tour, and this "three star hotel" went far and beyond that designation. For reference, we stayed in cottages 1 and 7. If you're in the area, check it out!Pros:-The space around the cottages is well made. Even before you get in the room, it feels like you've truly found a secret grotto of places to stay.-The rooms themselves have more than enough space. All cottages come with jet tubs, showers with built-in steamers to turn it into a sauna (!), and fireplaces. Cottage 7 even came with a separate living room area with its own TV, just in case you have a group and want to entertain.-The beds are very soft. After a long day out, sometimes you just want a place to lay down and rest. While the beds are close to needing updates (there is a slight valley in them pushing both occupants towards the middle), they are great overall.-There is a restaurant right next to the cottages (it's also where you check in) that serves some delicious food and martinis. They don't necessarily specialize in anything, but it is a great balance between a quick bite to eat and fine dining.-Climate control was excellent. Each room (family room and bedroom) had its own fan, and a central AC and heater. Just to make it better, a centralized fireplace makes for an extra heater, though we didn't use it.Cons:-Location is a bit out there. Realistically you're probably stopping over here for a night or two and have your own car, but beyond a grocery store, two cafes, and a restaurant you're not seeing much in this small town. It is also a bit annoying that there are limited sidewalks nearby, meaning you have to walk in the bike lane in some of the parts of town.-Room variance. While most of this review is on room 7, it seems that the rooms here change significantly between cottages. For example, it seems only 50% of the cottages have outdoor patios, and only cottage 7 is completely separated from the rest of the cottages.-Getting REALLY nitpicky here, but the fan in our living room area was a bit loud. We didn't use it much, but it might be slightly annoying if you're trying to do something like watching a movie.-The shower could use some new rubber sealers on the door. After taking a shower most of the floor around the shower was soaked, requiring multiple towels. Luckily, management gave many towels to us in the room, so this was never a true problem.
