My pup had operations on a fatty tumor and a cist on his head. He had his 5 front teeth extracted also. he hasn't a clue that this has happened to him. He's healing excellent. We couldn't be happier.

New ownership brings change, to personnel and operating systems. Staff need training (and retraining, or perhaps a different job...) and it shows. Expect long waits, even if you're just picking up meds. Staff constantly complaining about the new system, the new owner, and each other. - the negative energy is palpable. My dog had emergency surgery and was sent home with 3 medications, very little verbal instructions , and zero written aftercare instructions. When I called and came in 2 days later because something was wrong, the owner vet made it sound like the surgeon vet had done something wrong or missed something like a punctured lung - not even possible so why bring it up? (My dog was having a reaction to one of the meds; when it was stopped, he was ok.) Again no aftercare discussed, which seems strange considering he was full of staples, sutures, and drains.I am hoping things improve with staff training, reassignments, morale, and overall job satisfaction soon. Currently people are going there because they are longtime clients of the previous vet owner, or, it is close by and they have an emergency. On my recent 3 visits, no one was super stoked about the customer service they received. It would be nice if they can get to a standard level of care expected of a medical facility. (Reassigning one particular front desk employee to a non-customer service position or out the door would be a great start.)

Good experience. Good service for my dog. It was expensive but all vet bills are these days. Irene has been my vet for 35 years now. The rest of the office employees where helpful and friendly for covid19 restrictions being in place at the time. No complaints from me.

My Golden Retriever youngster tore one of her nails out. The surgery follow up and dressing changes were done for avery reasonable cost. Very caring staff.Have taken care of my cats too.

Editing my review to reflect the kindness and dedication of this practice to the welfare of animals. We brought a sick elderly cat that we believed was terminally ill. The staff and Dr generously squeezed us into their packed appointment schedule on an emergency basis and helped us make an informed decision on what to do about our ailing senior cat. They have a lab on-site with fast results which is really convenient! Although we were added into a busy schedule, the Dr and staff were so kind and gave our kitty lots of care and love. Our cat made a full recovery but the reason I'm giving 5 stars is that this office didn't turn us away even though they were busy and they treated us with compassion and kindness. We really appreciate the great service.

Been using BOAH for over 30 years and Irene is a great vet, but her front desk staff is an absolute nightmare. My dog was diagnosed with diabetes almost 9 years ago and over the the course of his illness which required insulin Rx renewals every three months I was told how sick they were of refilling my prescriptions, that I needed to get a "better attitude" about my struggles to get refills, told to go somewhere else, and hung up on. I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday, no help from them, and the only bright side is I never have to deal with them again.

The ABSOLUTE BEST veterinary ever!!! Drove up from Roseville for a pre-appointment surgery for my overly-excited/hyperactive/distracted pitty. Most people are very scared and weary of him because his movements are just scary…like he drank a case of Rockstar. It reminds me of when my autistic daughter would have a meltdown in public and people would shame us for her behavior. The tech wanted to put a muzzle on him, and Dr. Irene said it wasn’t necessary. Of course, I was more than willing to muscle the muzzle on him. When Dr. Irene was face to face with him, he put his paws on her shoulder and snuggled his cheek to her face and was happy. She called him a “Love-bug” and he settled down for a moment. The vet was thorough with her exam and extremely gentle- difficult feat to manage with my dog. We have been to 4 different vets and I will not take him anywhere else after meeting Dr. Irene. Driving an hour each way to Black Oak is well worth the excellent care he receives there! Not to mention the pricing is fair and the other clients did not frown at my dog and I in disapproval of his constant barking and wild behavior.

Amazing caring People, fair pricing, and devoted to your pets well being. Anchored by Dr Irene a wonderful part of the Divide for the 35 years I've been around here. Recent Abcess on my cat taken care of immediately catching a cancellation late in the day but Dr Irene kept him to get the lance and drain done. 7:30 pm I was able to pick up a groggy boy for $500 less than I had to pay at the emergency vet in the middle of the night last time he did this. Where else do you find caring like that?

They are skilled, knowledgeable, organized, reasonably priced, and extremely compassionate and understanding. I like every person who works here, they are all great to interact with. This is a very important place to me up here because it provides high level care for my pets at a conveniently close location considering the area.

We have been taking our pets here for over 10 years. Dr. Irene is fantastic, and we just recently met Dr. Maggie, who is also wonderful. Dr. Maggie performed surgery on one of our cats, and we really appreciated the time she took to discuss the details with us before and after the surgery. She was very sweet to our kitty, obviously a true animal lover, which we appreciate in a vet. It's wonderful having a first class vet available right here on the Georgetown Divide.

I agree with previous review that states there are only 2 Veterinarians who care at this facility. If I could just rate Irene, I would give 5 stars, but since my interactions also, unfortunately, involve the staff I am going to say 1 star rating only. Those who communicate the results of testing, examinations of pets, etc. DO NOT know how to properly communicate. They rush the conversations. They DO NOT listen or properly answer questions you may have regarding your pet's visit. I even called them to ask them follow-up questions since they did not answer them the first time and they tried to rush me off the phone. This is extremely unprofessional. I know the office is in Georgetown, but come on... Get whatever's happening with you personally out of your tone of voice and face and get it together. DON'T TRY AND RUSH YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR CLIENTS, LISTEN TO THEIR CONCERNS and LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY. We do pay your bills. You know that, right?As far as Irene and the one other Vet I met (can't think of her name RN - short, light brownish/red, wavy hair) they are superb. 5 stars for them and they are the ONLY reason I will continue to go back.To those in the office that think they can tell clients to go somewhere else or good luck finding lower prices elsewhere or are falsely under the impression they are better than everyone else in the world... Come down from the ugly, prideful pedestals you built for yourselves, cause you are DEFINITELY NOT as great as you think yourselves to be. The ONLY REASON (now get this through your heads) that we come back is because of people like Irene who remain humble, sweet and grateful for client's business. So... Calm down and get your Sh*t together.

Wonderful, friendly and caring staff that go out of their way to be helpful. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and nobody tries to up sell or talk you into products and services you or you pet don't really need. They do their very best to get you seen in a timely fashion. Everyone truly cares about your animal.

Not normal times phone call from parking lot was picked up by fax machine x4. Appointment for shots was for 3 pm. 100 degrees and 1/2 hr. In the car was rough and finally finished with everything at 4:15.Not typical for this clinic, but I feel generous with my 3 star rating.

I started bringing my dog here after moving to the Divide area about a year ago. In my experience, their customer service can be hit or miss. The receptionists always seem like they have too much going on at once, which makes it difficult to get information or questions answered by phone. I am guessing that COVID has a lot to do with this.I will say, though, that my dog has alway received wonderful care! I trust the knowledge and care provided by everyone there. My dog is always happy to go in, even without me or my wife coming in with him!

Our Golden Retriever just has 3 small lumps and one extremely large one removed here. She stayed extremely late the day before the 4th of July to make sure he was okay after the meds. They are close and good. I highly recommend them.

The doctors are great here, the staff on the other hand is so rude and unprofessional. As soon as i walked in i waited in line and one of the front desk girls rudely approached us asking if she could help us. this isn’t the first time they have been rude when helping us , the last time we came in which was the week before we walked in and waiting and they lady looked at us and walked to the back and came back up and continued to stare and not say anything till i spoke up. very unprofessional!!

Horrible place! They are SO unorgaized, which is scary, since they are dealing with your pet's life. Nobody communicates with eachother properly or with the customers. They were even discussing their poor communication while I was standing there waiting...for an HOUR! I even had an appointment for a simple allergy shot. Anyone there could have given it to my dog, but they couldn't figure out how..then lost his chart, then had to weigh him again, then had to decide how much to give him again, then charged me DOUBLE what I was quoted over the phone for it! When I finally expressed my frustration. The lady at the desk was not only snotty and pretentious, like I had the problem, but down right rude, saying, "We never would have told you it was that price and you can feel free to go somewhere else." Good luck finding it cheaper." I will NEVER step foot back in that place again. It is a joke.
