I found a stray dog at a late hour and was struggling to find anywhere that would accept her. They accepted her and took her in even though it was very late at night. They answer calls at all hours of the day. I’ve been calling to check on her and the staff have been very helpful.

i went there to get my dog a vaccine for rabies and the dog flu shot. they said they could not give him the vaccines because of a skin condition. these are not vets but vet techs. i lost my dog today to the flu. he caught it there.

I delivered a new mobile veterinary care unit and emergency disaster response unit to add to their fleet. They seemed to be quite efficient and they were very busy reuniting pets with their owners and adopting pets to their furever homes.

I made a neglected case phone call to carson shelter to check in on a pet that was being neglected back in Nov 20th 2023. A wonderful lady on the phone was really nice and helpful, she told me I could check in with the same number 3-4 days after the incident & see the status.I called today and was greeted by another operator named "Regina" First I couldn't even hear her from music playing very loud, I told her I would like to check in to see how the case is going, she had put on hold, then was very rude in her demeanor. I told her the place I was calling about was a gated community and gave her the address. I called her very kindly and even when I noted her attitude I gave her kind energy back. She was unable to give me any information yet the other operator told me if I gave my number then it would be allowed. It sucks , especially being in this field that they allow one, unprofessional people work in a shelter. Given the reputation carson shelter has as a kill shelter, but also not able to do wellness checks. I live right infront of the house I reported on and I have not one seen an officer visit their doorstep.

I called the facility and was disappointed that regardless of what button I pushed, I could never talk to a live person. I drove to the facility to drop off two large bags of bedding and towels, which I was told was urgently needed. But when I arrived and asked where to leave them, the attendant nodded to the sidewalk and walked away. Really??I heard all of the dogs barking, and it sort of broke my heart, made me wish I could find someone for each and everyone of them.

My first time I adopted from hear it was a cat that I wasent hear for cuz the cat I wanted was put on a 10 day hold got hear today as I was told get hear early an then they tell me she’s not available I can come bk at closing an see if they can let her be adopted I try an speak to the Lieutenant an he has attitude I’m trying to explain to him the manager told me to be hear early so she would be mine an that’s when he finally changed his tone but the whole time he kept asking me an my two teenage sons to wait out side never did he tell anyone else I really have to say if my kids dident want this cat so bad I would of let my feelings out on what I feel about this place an I can say I WILL NEVER COME BK HEAR AFTER THIS !!!

I rescued my little girls here. The wait might be a while, but the workers and volunteers are great. Please adopt! Rescued animals are the best!! If I could afford and adopt all of them, I would!!

No-kill Animal Shelter. Due to Covid restrictions, everything is by appointment only.I went here with my family for a "Love at First Sight" appointment, and we adopted an adorable 5 y/o Pit Bull. Our other dog (also a Pit Bull) died recently, and I couldn't imagine going through the Holiday Season without a companion.Staff is very polite and informative. I hope I won't have to go back anytime soon, because picking out a new pet is never easy (I want to take all of them home with me) but I would highly recommend this facility if you're looking for a new furry friend or a feathered one, or even a reptile.

Terrible customer service, rude volunteers, I was so crushed to see my wife be ignored and really given no help when trying to give a fur baby a better life, would highly recommend that you seek another shelter

CONS-You need to make an online appointment in order to see your potential new pet.-Several families get the same time frame.-No social distancing.-No first come first serve. Most likely line cutters will be the first to get in.PROS-You get to interact with potential new pet.-If you find and like a ready to adopt pet you can take him/her the very same day.-The staff is sooo nice.So after one of my beloved 🐕 went to heaven I promised myself I would never get another furry family member, but my whole family decided it would be good to give a chance to another 🐕. We tried to adopt through SEAACA and Downey animal shelter with no avail. I saw those german shepard and pit bull mix puppies online but I wasn't interested in any of them but my daughter asked me to interact with one of them and I must say it was "Love at first hug" because as soon as she was place in my hands we both hugged each other and even my daughter was surprised how she attached to me. So I originally went to ask for information about other 🐕 and I ended up taking a little one who stole my ❤I strongly recommend adopting from shelters instead of buying from heartless people that don't even care about pets.

Everyone please go rescue a pet. They're having a special right now any no adoption fees I got my dog Rottweiler purebred I got a purebred Rottweiler he's only a year old he still sits to pee sometimes for free. Please everyone rescue a pet save them from being killed. He's so big he makes my daughter's Siberian husky look like a chihuahua. You can see the Siberian husky and the dog I rescued laying side by side.

I took my little dog to the Carson Animal Shelter. They have an animalclinic for the animal vaccinations.My dog got so scared at the clinic, but the staff was gentle to my dog.My dog did not have any problemsfor the vaccination. Also, they only charged $10.00 for the dog flu vaccination. This is the only placewhere they offer dog flu vaccination for the low price & their service is excellent. I would like to recommend this place to all pet parents.UPDATE : CARSON ANIMAL SHELTERMy friend wanted to adopt a dog.Since I visited the shelter before, I wanted to help her find the right dogfor her.When I arrived at the shelter, there were plenty of parking spaces.I heard that a lot of dogs were barking.They recommended that before youvisit the shelter, you should view the dogs on the Carson Animal Shelter Website first. Then, visir the adoptabledogs. They said that you could see the dogs on Monday through Saturday between 11 AM- 6 PM.My friend wanted to adopt a small dogsuch as Chihuahua. I found a perfectdog for her. I saw a young, black smallfemale dog was quiet. She was a small Chihuahua mix dog.After that, I wanted to see the GermanShepherd dogs for other friends, too.I heard that a lot o people don't like to adopt big dogs, so usually big dogs stayed at the shelter for a long time.If you adopt the dog from the shelter,sometimes, they would waive an adoption fee.Lately, shelter was having many dogs, and they need to have loving homes.I would like to recommend that peopleshould adopt dogs from the Carson Animal Shelter.

Found this little guy when on my way to work, couldn't leave him there on the street under this heat day he could die, took him to animal shelter in carson,staff was helpful, hope this little guy finds someone who really love him, not like the asshxxe who left him to die on the street...

Went here to adopt a dog I seen on their website. Wasn’t a match when I seen him. Found a girl dog that was mislabeled as a pitbull. She was amazing though I had to adopt her that day. Staff was very helpful with getting animals out to interact with us. Sad to say that they are low staff. So I encourage people to apply or volunteer to help these animals! A lot of bad things are said about these shelters. From my experience this animal shelter cared more about these animals than most people said in reviews! That’s why they work there and are trying their best to save them. Also they aren’t even doing it to make a profit. You adopt a pet, you pay a small fee and they will give you food, toys, blanket for your dog. Till you can get some.

With a broken heart, I brought a deceased feral cat, I had been feeding since 2010, to this location. I named him Cookie. They were very kind and understanding. On that day, they were having adoptions. I observed very well cared for animals and caring people. Appeared to be a great place to adopt an animal.

Saw puppy A5542221 online and decided to call and inquire. The lady that answered said she would be available for adoption 3/29/23 @ 2pm since it was a Wednesday there was no appointments. I asked to be put on the list they stated no list it would be first come first serve. On 3/29/23 I called the shelter before heading over to make sure she would be able for adoption. I gave the man the puppy # and he said she would indeed be available. I arrived at the Carson shelter at 10:30 am to be the first person in line as it was first come first serve. Not to mention I stood in line rain and all to adopt this puppy. The facility finally opened at 2pm and the lady stated she was not available for adoption because she had to be neutered and would be available March 31st and on that day it would be by appointments only. So I asked if I can take her and bring her back for the procedure or take her to my own vet . Again no only if she were on medication. So now I stood in line for almost 4 hrs for nothing. I was given an appointment but I am not the 1st person on the list so I most likely will not get her. Carson you need to get your act together and give people correct information. I lost a day of work due to your incompetence.

Came to this shelter to adopt a puppy. They told me she would be available to be adopted the following day and that they opened at 11am. She said first come first served and no holds for any pets. We showed up at 1030am the next morning and we were 1st in line. When we went in to ask about the puppy all of a sudden she was not available? I believe they got paid off or someone was lying.

Rescued a bunny from this shelter and the staff was very kind and knowledgeable. We have also rescued a cat in the past from this location. They have dogs, cats, rabbits and sometimes other animals (birds & farm animals). Clean location and animals come spayed or neutered with initial vaccinations & even a free check up with a local veterinarian within the first 5 days.

Called about a cat for adoption. Was on hold for 30 minutes. Finally hung up. They don’t answer calls or take calls. Everything is online. Appointments are booked a month out. By then the pet you want to adopt will be euthanized. These shelters are not trying to save these animals at all. They take them in and kill them all. They don’t even bother to take calls or make it easy to adopt. Extremely disheartening.

They had almost no cats, most of the cages were empty. Of the five cats they had, NONE of them were available to adopt, they were all being held for rescue agencies or something else. Nearly all of the dogs were pitbulls too, but I guess that's not their fault. What frustrates me is that they had no cats available.Update: I came back during "Kitten season" in June, and there were plenty of cats and kittens available. I adopted two at a special discounted rate, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Thank you Carson animal shelter for not euthanize this dog he's a great wonderful pet he has a forever home his name is HOKA.... he was at your shelter for a month so I came and rescued him from Death Row I recommend people adopt a pet dog cat whatever they have there adopt a friend.... so go to your nearest animal shelter....

I know there are some bad reviews of this place, but my experience was GREAT. I brought my puppy in for shots. The main Vet there i forgot her name but she was a blond lady, saw my dog had some allergy skin issues and asked if I fed my dog chicken. I told her yes and was instructed to stop giving chicken for a while and BAM 2 months later no more rashes. I still give him chicken here and there just not on a daily basis. Thank you Caraon Animal Shelter !!

I was very impressed with the staff at the shelter. They were all very helpful and patient, and they took great care of the animals. The kennels were clean and well-maintained, and the animals seemed to be happy and healthy. I would highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a pet.
