This is a market in a small town but it has everything. Deli has a nice variety of prepared foods, and produce was fresh. Store is clean and organized. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This place had always been my go to when I'm up north! I wish we were still bringing in revenue from the redwood run. I wish the people who owns the property could realize and find a way to make it happen again. 🙋 I will say thank you for the years it was possible in Piercy CA!!! 👍

I have not much complaints it's a good place if your passing through and they have great customer service but the prices seem to be a bit crazy just a handful of stuff can get expensive but I guess it's good if your living in the area since there's not that many options up here

I take back everything negative I've ever said about this store Michelle the cashier saw me and tears because my father's failing health and she was nice enough to give me a big hug and make me feel loved and cared for and I just wanted to say that is what life is about is caring for those who are really hurting and I just wanted to say you really are lucky to have Michelle as an employee does care and she has such a good heart. She deserves a raise

Limited selection and more expensive compared to some of the bigger chains. However, the selection is more locally sourced with lots of organic and natural options. This is always where I grocery shop first when visiting the area and whatever I can't find I get from another store but usually I find whatever I need here and it's high quality and worth the extra cost.

I've been going to Ray's for years but this is the first time I've written a review. If I'd been asked to write one, say two or more years ago , I'd have given them 2 -3 stars, but these days the cashier's are all super nice, the music is excellent, the deli food is the best and I enjoy shopping there...a lot!

Way over priced for what you get! Waitress was awful, didn't pay attention to us and was more interested in talking to other customers! We had to flag down another waitress who brought the check which was wrong since we asked for separate checks. Flagged the same waitress down and she informed us that she would have to get our waitress to do it! Then our waitress mixed it up! There was 4 of us 2 on each check finally we walked up to the front and had them fix it! Very disappointed with this place!

I called to ask if they cashed checks and they said yes as long as it's under $1000 and you have to spend 10% of the checks amount, which in itself is outrageous. So we got there, did our shopping and then they decided to tell me that they only cash checks within a 20 mile radius and they couldn't take it. How ridiculous! It was a retirement check from my old job and they sent it from corporate in Chicago. I have never heard of such ridiculous policies and I've cashed checks everywhere! I'm only here to work for the season so I don't have a local bank account anywhere. This on top of the prices being sky high and that was before inflation, I'd much rather take my business elsewhere. What is this place even good for?

The prices knocked my socks off! Personally I drive to Eureka for a Costco run every week or two, INFINITELY better value. Just one example, tubs of spinach at Ray's and Shops Smart are 5oz and $4.99....exact same brand at Costco,16oz and the price was $3.79!!! Get 3 times as much plus a bonus ounce and save $1.20!!!!

The staff seemed over worked and grumpy. The food was a bit high and the fresh produce wasn't so fresh. We sat out in the parking lot for an hour before going in, so that my wife who has a traumatic brain injury could remember everything she needed to purchase. On the way out of our car and into the store a very angry looking employee agressively told me we had to "leave the parking lot" because we had been there for so long. When she saw that we were there to spend money she backed off in embarrassment. My wife is getting very tired of having to explain her perceived very "un-normal" behavior due to her usage of her very intelligent & creative integrative coping skills she has implemented as part of her recovery from a t.b.i. The employee who followed us around playing "catch a shoplifter" was the same aggressive staff member who rudely commented on our "unusual" amount of parking lot time. I thought shopping was supposed to be fun and exciting not stressful and uncomfortable. For being a "small town" store with supposed "small town" etiquette, we were left feeling angered and anxious. I feel that a vast number of retailers need to address empathy, manners and how "the customer is always right", is the best way to interact with the people who are basically the guarantors of their pay check.

Nice selection with some luxuries...small town store don't expect 10k space here...but its bigger than you think when rolling upto itPharmacy closed they may have gotten a little greedy with rentSelection of items is still okayDeli changed food orange chicken and Gen Tao chicken out way to long hard to even chew this time.I rarely visit...customer service is friendly. If they loose that it will be the end of them

I asked for 6 slices of turkey, I was told the slicer was being used and to come back in 10 minutes, the guy using the slicer offered to let her slice my order but she said " oh no, she can wait!" I walked out, never to return!!

I had never been to Ray's but they had a lot of items that were really cool. The unfortunate part is it was in Mendocino county and hopefully I'll never ever go back there because frankly, it sucks lemons. Have a great weekend

There is a new lady that just started working evenings, and my first dealing with her she shorted me $5. When I confronted her about it she did not even look at the receipt or the change she just said oh I was just checking to see if you were paying attencion. what I would like to know is when did cashier's take on the responsability of checking if customers are paying attencion? This store is already over priced, and now I have to worry about my change also. Most of the staff, at least during the day, are really nice and helpful, but I would pay attention to the night crew.

The customer service was great! My mom and I were having trouble finding stuff to make s'mores and without even asking, an employee came up to us offered to help us look for the items we needed and stayed with us until we did. He was very kind and so we're the people at the register.

Yeah, ok. Get over the backpackers and shady characters.Don't let the exterior fool you. It may not have parking like the big boxes, but Ray's carries a wide selection, great produce, and as was discussed in prior review, a great Hot Deli.This is a great little big store. A real asset to the area I'm sure.

We use Keith's pharmacy, I appreciate the way Keith works with his customers to make sure they are completely satisfied!! The new look at Ray's Food Place is beautiful, and the customer service is definitely better than I've ever seen it!! The assistant manager and most of the clerks (the ones I've known forever) go above and beyond to make sure the customer leaves feeling he or she has been treated with the respect they deserve and that everything was done to make their shopping experience a good one!!

Our only close pharmacy is inside (& the only reason we go in). Rays here is a 'specialty' store with the high prices you find in such stores. We simply can't afford to shop there. If you are amongst the fortunate, you will probably like the place. There's some good things & you will pay for them in abundance.

Really much nicer than expected for the only game in town.And now l know about Shop Smart. You sold me bad meat, and there is always a line in checkout hire some more employees!Redway isn't that far to drive.
