I'm a handyman, and I was doing a job in Galt today. As is often the case, I needed some hardware, and Ace was the closest store. Man, was I pleased! Not only did they have what I needed, but an actual human employee helped me find what I needed. Their selection on plumbing, hardware, wiring, etc was extensive and well organized. I live in Elk Grove, and there are no longer any proper hardware stores in town, so I'm going to start driving to Galt to go to Ace.

Dark and dreary. This Ace doest have the energy other Ace's have. The employees were nice and somewhat helpful, but it was if they were all sentenced to work there.

While this is usually a great store today not so much. Tell your employees to stay home if they are sick! While I stood for 5 minutes , UNACKNOWLEDGED, at the key counter, I watched the guy making keys wipe his nose on his sleeve at least 10 times! Lots of sniffing as well. Do I want him handling my keys? NOPE!

I don’t know which ace hardware store they’re going to but it’s not the one in Galt, place has young kids working in there don’t know nothing about hardware don’t know where nothing is at and they stand around talking to each other about their night before no service at all.

Best ace around, everytime I go there to find parts no one carries. Their knowledgeable and willing staff help me make parts and find bolts and screws specific to my needs. No one does that.

The place looks good with the new expansion. Has your basic hardware needs. If your home needs it or you want it, I recommend swinging by before going to the big stores.

I had quite a list of sprinkler pieces I needed and I was pleasantly surprised that they had everything on my list. In addition they gave me 10% off for being a veteran. I will definitely be going back!! Every time I come in looking for something they almost always have it in stock.

Drove an hour round trip to buy a grinder the website said was in stock here. The first people to try helping me were great then this Jose (a supervisor) guy tried looking for it for a bit. Didn’t say anything to me for a good fifteen minutes while I looked for it with him and then with no explanation or apology says “guess we don’t have it”. When I told him that’s frustrating because I just drove 30min to get it he got all huffy and indignant. Didn’t offer any other help or suggested products. Just shrugged and said we don’t have it. Rest of the staff were good. The women at the front provided much more information and better customer service than either supervisor.

This place so far has had everything I've come in for. They're a little more than the big orange store but they're also 20 minutes closer pand nearly an hour round trip, so if your time is money and your list isn't too long, its not a bad choice. The employees that have helped me have all been great and very attentive and the place is set up well for how small it is.

It would be cool if they'd update the hours online more frequently since they change them all the time apparently....Says 8pm close, but really it's 630pm now!I could have stopped on my way home, wanted to keep my money local so I didn't stop... now I get to go back into town. Thanks guys🤦‍♂️

Suppose to open at 730am it is now 742. No cashier. Pretty sad. Need to find more reliable workers. Only place around that sells pellets for treager. Guess I can't rely on ACE no more. Not the liveliest or happiest bunch ether.😶 But after talking with Rick he apologized and was really helpful and nice ty Rick. 👍

Absolutely worthless. New management has tanked a once great store. No downstocking, no inventory management. How can you place orders if you don't control inventory? Go in for a part a month later, still out of stock. Dont blame Covid, this is a lazy issue

I’ve been coming here for 12 years. The employee turnover rate has climbed but even still, one can get more help here than any other big box store. It’s more expensive but time is money and I understand that I am paying for convenience. Although, they NEED to expand their hardware more like the Lodi store.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean, well stocked, with reasonable prices. They dont have the variety of a Home Depot or a Lowe's but they are surprisingly close and they're my go to for every day repairs as well as medium sized projects. This is one of the better businesses in town.

I'm so glad they finally gave the store a face lift. It's so much easier to find things now. Everyone is pretty helpful when you have questions or need help finding something particular and they always have the odd sized bolts and screws we need for things.

Small store. Understandably quite cramped as they're trying to stock everything you might need. Staff is generally pleasant and helpful. Often greet you at the door and ask what they can help you find. Significantly more expensive than big box stores, of course, but that's to be expected.

Since their remodel it has taken a while for them to get restocked, the Delivery system being compromised by Covid hasn't helped their ability to provide products as before.They are doing a good job, considering what they are up against!

I just moved to the rural area and the closest Ace is at Galt, so I had been in there to pick up items here and there, the associates working there are helpful.I went in today at 5:06 and there was a worker holding the door open for customers and I walked up to the door, she immediately yelled at me “ we are closed “ I checked their hours and it said 6:30.. I walked back to the door and asked them to be nice to customers if they are closing an hour and half early. We as the customers are not psychic and so if we spent 15 mins one way driving to your store and you want to close earlier than normal hours than you need to be kind and not yell at them like they are little kids or that we had done something wrong.. I am disappointed in that associates behavior and lack of customers service..

This place is like the neighborhood hardware store I often visited with my father as a child.. The service is beyond anything you can get at a big chain. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful, and have a very good handle on all the inventory. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

This Ace is awesome. Great staff that is friendly and eager to help. Good selection of products here as well. Prices are a little high but there is that convenience factor. I don't mind as they are a local business and I like to keep my money local.

They closed at 7:00 PM despite the website saying open until 8:00. I drove from Wilton, arrived at 7:09 to pick up my order already paid for, and they refused to bring out my one small item. Really, really bad customer service. I would advise not patronizing this place.

I absolutely love this place. I probably come here alot more than I should. The staff is very knowledgeable, I remember asking one of the associates about my faucet and he asked what part of town do I live in, and thats all he needed to know exactly what I was looking for. Thanks guys!

I love shopping here. Always staffed with enough employees to be able to offer assistance. Not just what aisle but take you there and answer questions. Refreshing change from the big box stores and conveniently located.
