After all the rain a little dog showed up at the parking lot of my workplace. We fed it and felt bad for it since it kept having to deal with being out in the cold. I called numerous animal shelters and all of them turned me away because they were all at max capacity. Luckily, my coworker found a loving home willing to take the dog in. The hard part was catching him. You could tell he had been on the streets for a while from how smart he was. He knew not to get too close, wouldn't fall for any traps, etc. Thankfully, I decided to call Fresno Animal Center again and told them about our unique situation. That we only needed help CATCHING the dog, and then afterward give him to us to house. After two weeks of their nice employee Rudy coming out and setting up a trap were we able to get the dog. His new family has named him Jack, and he now has brothers. This all wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the Fresno Animal Center willing to help us with our unique request!

Someone from the shelter saw a Facebook post and notified me that my lost dogs might be at the shelter. They were! They took great care of them and the staff were super helpful and friendly. They even microchipped them for me! So relieved and happy!

I found a dog and took it here and they said they cannot take it. All other shelters apparently get dogs from here so when you call everyone else they say they can’t take them. I’m confused on why this is. Also when I said I cannot keep it they told me to “release her back where you found her” which is illegal and can land you in jail with a 1000 dollar fine. If this is the only shelter than can take dogs and they arnt then they should allow other shelters to take in until their capacity is lower. I will never donate or volunteer again to any animal shelter. I’ve given countless days to volunteering. Please be better.

honestly would give no stars if i could. found two abandoned puppies and took them in because they are the only shelter in fresno that will take them. i got there and they said they had to check them. they got checked and they said okay theyre healthy but we aren't taking any animals unless they are sick or injured. they then asked me if i was sure that i couldnt keep them and i should consider "helping them more" and "thinking of them" because they are at capacity. they then gave me a pamphlet and said call these shelters they'll take them so then i call and guess what? this shelter is the only one who can take animals in. so then i proceeded to tell them nobody would take them and i cant take them back and they told me to put them out on the street and not worry about them. all of the employees who helped me had the nastiest attitudes and also told me to illegally dump the animals. so long story short, they will do nothing to help the stray animals and they are useless. sincerely hope that they better themselves

If i could give it zero stars i would, we recently found three kittens who’s mother did not want to feed them and abandoned them, we had no other option but to give them up because were not allowed to have pets so we called this place and they said they would call us the next day to bring them in. That night two kittens died and we got left with one. The next day came around and they told us we could not bring in the kitten unless it was sick or injured even though we stated the kittens had not been wanting to eat formula and the lady on the phone continued to give us attitude and said to just leave them where we found them even after we continued to tell her the kittens have not ate in more than a day and were only 3 days old and very weak. Poor customer service and worst place ever.

Great facilities, all the staff seem to love and take each animal's needs into consideration. I'm fostering a sweet sharpie mix. If you can't adopt foster, it bring love into any home.

I've been searching for my dog all weekend and the employees at Fresno Animal Center have all been the most caring and compassionate people I have experienced during thisdifficult time. This is also the most well organized and cleanest shelter I have ever been to.

I have reported a deceased cat that was found outside my driveway since 4/4/2024 and I have been told that it will take 24/48 hours for them to be able to pick up do to the fact that they prioritize other urgent matters , well it has been over 120 hours of waiting for some type of response , and it doesn’t help that the line is never available they transfers the calls to the city of Fresno which it looks like they’re not doing anything about it either, there’s not a corporate number to contact a supervisor or anyone to get helpand the SPCA can’t do anything about it because they don’t work with the city of Fresno only Fresno county, Which is ridiculous.

Took time off work to take in a cat that was found by my dd. Cat cries when eating. We asked them to check her mouth. Instead they fed her wet food and said she's fine. So I guess we're all liars right?? I plan to take her to my vet and return w the bill. Waste of city resources they're trying to NOT help poor animals.

Adopted a beautiful Husky named TINKERBELL. I honestly wanted to take them all home.. So sad :(. The staff are overtly friendly and so kind. Thanks for a clean and inviting Center!!! Wish people were more responsible with animals.....then maybe this Center wouldn't be needed.

My dog Trunks has passed and my other dog Panther has been howling & crying for him? So I went to Google and looked up online to buy a pet. And found this place... I'm sorry for the people who've had a bad experience with this facility but my experience was very good. There were some glitches but nothing to really complain about. I plan to return to adopt another pet soon.

I took in a sickly kitten & a sick cat that I found on my first visit back in June. They told me to put the cat back where I found it & that they had no room for the kitten & that they would euthanize her unless they could find a foster for her that night or I could sign up to foster her which I did. Went back 2 weeks later so they could evaluate her. Another woman was there with 4 healthy kittens she had found under an abandoned car. Once again they told her to put them back where she found them. She couldn't foster them as she has a dog that likely would have killed them. When I went back for the second evaluation for my foster kitten I had found 3 more kittens just before the 4th of July & my daughter had found 3 kittens in her neighborhood. They refused to put them in my foster care & just gave me a list of cat rescues to contact but with kitten season in full swing they are all full. They did take back my foster kitten who is part flame point Siamese with gorgeous blue eyes.To portray themselves as low kill they won't take in sickly cats & because they built a small cat adoption room they are dumping the stray cat problem back on the rescues & the general public.Update: Their latest excuse for not excepting cats is they have to be sick or injured & meet some other criteria. They are operating like a privately funded rescue but their 21 million dollar facility & staff is funded thru our tax dollars. They are suppose to be the open animal shelter for Fresno so people like myself who find homeless animals have a place to take them

Absolutely useless and irresponsible is this operation. I captured an aggressive dog that attempted to attack one of my staff members and had attacked three dogs and one cat in my community. I called these people to please come and pick the dog up before it attacks any more people or animals. I was told my call was a priority but at the end of the day they never showed up or even extended the simple courtesy of a phone call. The dog escaped and tried to attack another resident just this morning! DO NOT DONATE TO THIS BUSNIESS!! The level of ineptitude is astounding.

I nwed to find a dog i surrenderwd to the 24/7 pet vet , i know i cant get any info from them...ive been looking to see if i can find him online at any if the animal shelters and i think theres a possible few that could be him! Just adopted two kittens today! All the staff were so helpful and professional. The facility is clean and the adoption process was automated and super easy! I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for your fur-ever friend!🐈‍⬛🐾

I went there Looking for My 5yr old male Chocolate Brindle French Bulldog.Everyone was helpful well except the counter person until another person asked her the same thing I did walking in and did it without hesitation. To some people their animals are family., They have lil souls... Sadly my lil guy is still missing. 😔😭💔

When fostering for them they cover all of the vaccinations, rabies vaccine, spray or neuter, and health visits until the little one is ready for adoption. They are clean and efficient. Great services

Officer Ventura is a wonderful compassionate person..Extremely gentle with a dog that was hit by a car, it was alive and he transported it to 24/7 pet vet.. Thank you again

The employees are so friendly and helpful. I adopted a Cockapoo on Friday and love her. The only bad thing is they didn't from her undernesth and left burs and knotted fur all over her stomach and arm or address. We had to cut them off, poor thing was suffering from them.

Not sanitized once so ever, hand sanitizer needs to be refilled. Front service doesn’t greet you. Also treats the animals terrible. Had one girl cleaning up the cage and was full on yelling at the dog like it was her own. Wouldn’t recommend coming just to look at the pets. They clearly don’t seem to care about the animals or people willing to adopt. Also aren’t allowed to touch the animals in cages because of “germs”.

Wow! The Haunted Howls event was so cool, we came late and still felt like their was so much to do. We saw the dogs, the cats & even the snow cones! They put a lot into this first event and boy oh boy, we can't wait for next year's! Thank you!

The shelter is Awesome, THE Supervising Staff is Awful ,, I went in with my friend and over heard supervisor gossiping with the main boss about a employee. Such a bad example to set. It put a bad taste in my mouth... Terrible. My friend said it's not the 1st time she heard them .. Very Unprofessional... I hope they treat the animals better

Adopted 2 kitties on the free adoption weekend the other week. It was super busy and the staff and volunteers worked their butts off helping the giant room of people. I'm so appreciative of the help and customer service I've received, and the 2 kittens couldn't be happier.
