I've been going to Bogie's Discount Pet Food & Supplies for over six months, but today’s experience with my dog, Nikki, left me shocked. The staff labeled him as the "problem dog" upon our arrival. I had even given Nikki calming pills before our appointment and informed the groomer.Later, the groomer called me to say that Nikki had bled a bit but assured me he was no longer bleeding. She was quite casual about it, mentioning Nikki's bleeding and difficult behavior without much concern. When I went to pick him up, the groomer explained that when she put the harness on Nikki, he moved abruptly, causing the harness to stick to his body and exacerbate the bleeding. The severity of his wound was significantly downplayed. Considering the challenges they faced with Nikki, I decided to tip the groomer in cash. However, she neither apologized nor showed any concern, continuing to blame Nikki for being difficult.When I got home, I discovered a distressing wound on Nikki, who was clearly in pain. It was much worse than described, with his bone visible through torn skin, and he was trembling.I was shocked by the groomer's attitude and their carelessness with a dog. I don't think any human being seeing this kind of wound would feel anything but sadness. Yet, there were no apologies, no concerns expressed, and they still blamed Nikki.I strongly advise against visiting Bogie’s Discount Pet Food & Supplies, especially if you have an energetic dog or if you deeply care about your pet's well-being. They show a lack of concern for your dog, offer no apologies if something goes wrong, and are quick to judge your dog rather than evaluating their own skills. I suspect they'll be relieved that Nikki, the "problem dog," won't be bothering them anymore after this experience.

We love Jackie , she has been sparrow’s groomer and we love her attention to detail, she is very gentle with my puppy since he gets super nervous at the groomer. Looks like he is finally warming up to the idea and we love his cuts !

Fantastic find! My partner and I live at Artist's Walk Apartments in Fremont, and Bogie's was always in the periphery of our vision... I am originally from the San Mateo area and had been taking our mini aussie Harley to another place in San Carlos. Harley was well due a groom and our previous shop couldn't get her during the calendar month. Plus their rates had increased. We called Bogie's, and they offered an appointment as soon as the very next day! Great price and everyone was so friendly and hospitable. Harley isn't the easiest doggo, but they didn't bat an eye. We also picked up some treats and toys for our cat, Banksy. They offered an amazing discount on both our shopping goodies, and on the grooming since we were new customers. Highly recommend, and we will be going back. =]

Terrible grooming service. This was 2nd appointment for my pet. First appointment wasn't very positive but wanted to support a local business but they crossed all limits for 2nd as appointment.They kept my pup for 6+ hours and constantly lied about the reason of delay. After I showed up waiting for 5 hours, saw that they had just started with my dog and she was locked up for 5 hours. Utterly rude behavior by store manager and didn't even groom the dog properly.My pup hasn't even eaten since I brought her home. This was a total torture. Never coming back here.If you love your pet, DO NOT BRING them here for grooming.

Took our dog to get groomed, had a 12:00 appointment & picked her up at 3:30. The staff were all so kind, and the dog came back smelling great! Some blunt cuts with her haircut, but for the price ($75+tip) we can’t complain. They even gave her cute little bows ❤️

Decided to try Bogies again after last visits for grooming results in our dogs coming back with fleas. Room much cleaner and no fleas on this visit. Both dogs didn't seem traumatized as we picked them up. Will patronize them again

Love this place! But they dont always have correct pricing. Most things dont even have a price on them. Went here yesterday and got a 15lb bag of dog food & asked the staff ( after looking for awhile for prices) how much and he said between $17-42. I grabbed my bag, and when he rung me up, it was $62. I didnt realize until i got hiome since we were all so busy talking while he was ringing me up. So crazy to spend that when i spend a little more than that for a 50lb bag!!

WOW what a hidden gem. This place is awesome. Everyone is friendly and they will exceed your expectations.I brought my dog to be groomed today and wow he went in an old man and came out a young pup. Jackie is amazing. With a smile & love she took care of my big guy with LOVE. She’s perfect! There must have been 10 pounds of hair (long haired German Shepherd). I’ll never take him anywhere else. I’ll update who groomed him shortly!What a tour too. I met Mike and he showed us all the reptiles. It was like going to the zoo. He knew everything about them (I’m too scared to own one lol but it was worth the education!)

I don’t go here all the time because I’ve had bad experiences with the groomers (no customer service whatsoever and overall a bad job), but the other day I went in for kitten food and was helped by the nicest young man who said his name was Shane who was so incredibly helpful. He helped me find the right food for my new kitten and was so informative. I’ve never received this kind of service from any pet store before and I will definitely be back (but only to buy products. I don’t trust their services or rather the workers who perform them.)

I really Love the place, but I think the last time we had our dog's nails cut it really seemed as though they didn't do a very good job because a week later they were too long and hurt,as her nails are sharp.

I called and booked an appointment earlier in the week and I forgot to put it in my calendar I called the day of my appointment to check the time and was told they didn't even have an appointment for me but they had had a cancellation and to come now. When I arrived the woman apologized said she did have my appointment she just didn't see it it was later that day at 2:00. I let the groomer know what I wanted as far as cut, nails,bathing, and teeth brushed. A few hours later I get a call and left a voicemail saying that my dog was ready to pick up when I arrived my dog was still being groomed he looked terrible I was told she was unable to manage him as he's very squirrely. I said that it was fine I would just touch him up when I got home. When I got home I realized his nails were never even cut, nor were his teeth even brushed. My mother-in-law told me to put a dot of food coloring in the back of his mouth so that I could see if they brushed his teeth and lo and behold it was still there very prominent not fainted or even brushed away I am so disappointed because I don't have money to just throw away. I would not recommend taking any dog here to be groomed.

I love this store, they always have great service and the groomers have been wonderful with my dogs. I especially like the new groomers they have there now. It's not usually packed so it's nice during the pandemic not to feel like people are on top of you.

Very friendly and professional staff! It's a one-stop shop for almost everything, for almost any kind of pet! The prices are very competitive! Everything is the same price or even cheaper than chewy.com! The gentleman that helped me with my 9week old German Shepherd puppy' food knew exactly what and how much to feed him. He knew what I could expect when switching his food and didn't automatically go to the most expensive bag. He even educated me on "fillers" used in "cheap" dog foods. The best part, this new, great, healthy food cost roughly the same as the grocery store garbage! He offered my puppy treats at checkout and asked me to call him if I needed to. They really go above and beyond and I'm thrilled to have them in my neighborhood! Thanks Bogie's!!

this is such a wonderful friendly mom-and-pop shop that has been here in Fremont for a very long time. I remember coming here when I was a child with my mother to groom our Siberian Husky and purchase her food. It is my go-to spot when I want to get the best price on dog and cat food. The staff is wonderful and remember you by name. I would recommend for first-time pet owners if you need to learn about the best products to take care of your animals.

You can tell the owner and workers love animals in the amount of effort and knowledge they bring when you go in. They will always greet you and ask if you need help. They always give options and always have a smile on their face. And if they don't have it and are able to, they will order it for you.

For visiting a small business I was so over-the-top with happiness, because this shop is 100% a Gold Mine !! My little Angel needed her nails trimmed desperately, & while I tried two different large Pet Stores the answer was not now or maybe later this evening even if they only had 1 dog in the grooming area and that dog was completely groomed. At Bogie's Angel was taken right in and she had to be held down by 3 people the last time her nails were done and with this being her 1st time at Bogie's, we left her with the groomer I believe her name was Angie(sorry if I got it wrong) but no sooner than we walked away there she was with Angel and she was already finished with her nails. Less than 10 minutes. Sorry if I rambled but I want people to know we really do need to SUPPORT OUR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. Bogie's Discount Pet Food & Supply is one you should try.

Dear owner,Please take corrective action on employee who literally told me ( loyal customer since 3 years) to take our dogElsewhere as I ran late for my appointment due to PG&EOutage. I agree I should have called to inform but groomer who did not seem really busy or interested was not accommodating and I had to drop my pet back home and than get to work.I own a small business too and totally understand how scheduling works but also offer help to customers ifThings don’t go as planned.

Lovely place for getting your dog groomed. I left the choice of the cut to the professional (Megan* not sure of spelling) and was not disappointed. She was loving and understanding of my dog and her needs and gave her a cute clean cut that suited her needs. She also did her nails and gave me a full report on how my dog did during the experience (ok except for her feet). Also when there was an issue of trying to find records of my dog's vaccinations she gave me leniency and some time to get them together. I'm definitely going back and happy my dog is in such good hands.

Response to owner: My dog had some matting around the neck but his legs were not combed at all.... no excuse not to deshed his thighs if they had to cut matting from his neck.They usually do a great job, but I got my dog groomed yesterday and today I am pulling golf sized clumps of hair from his leg fur. What exactly was my $30 premium for deshedding used for? Will not be going here again.

Excellent pet store! Very helpful staff! Very clean store! They have these thick, extra large biscuits that are perfect for my pitbull mix, Rottweiler and Greyhound mix, and I give the smaller broken pieces to my smaller dogs.

Absolutely wonderful service! Scott answered all my questions and listened to my dogs needs. I have a 19 year old deaf and blind dog and is always terrified when clipping her nails. The groomer Megan was so sweet and gentle with her that she didn’t whine once. My other dog who’s 6 years old and a rescue is also terrified of getting her nails trimmed and she calmed her down. The whole experience was so wonderful when usually it’s a nail bitter. I definitely recommend this grooming shop as I will be going there for all my dogs needs now!

I have had bad experiences with Bogie's and their infamous grooming service before with my dog but this experience had finally pushed me to write this review. It really pains me to see old fixtures such as Bogie's practice bad business by not honoring reservations. It's puzzling to me how they manage to stay afloat in this kind of market with such practices as well. I wasn't very pleased to wait two weeks for a grooming appointment just to show up and be met with "Oh your reservation was never booked! Sorry about that! :)". Unacceptable, re-evaluate and restructure your pen and paper reservation system. 1 star.

Knowledgable staff and ALWAYS willing to help! I bought some organic chick start that my laying hens accidentally got a hold of. We had been eating the eggs, and I wanted to ensure there weren't any antibiotics in the chick start. I called and the woman who answered went out of her way to check all the chick start they carried, took pictures of the tags, and was even willing to call their supplier if need be. We quickly found the brand and determined it was, in fact, antibiotic-free. What was so amazing is that this happened about 10 minutes before the store was to close. Despite the hour, she took the call and helped me beyond the closing time. I will give my business to Bogie's for all my critter needs (and I have A LOT of critters)!!! : )

The staff is great. The guy I talked to really knew a lot about all the dog food, and they stock short so it's fresh.One star off for being a bit spendy. I got a harness there and saw it for half on Amazon. But I guess that's brick and mortar, right?

My Bernie loves to come here. He does not mind the grooming at all, I think he likes any kind of attention. I pick up food he likes here as well. Everyone is nice, it's all good.
