Great place with amazing staff, have a wide variety of fresh/salt water fish along with some 10$ coral frags and tons of other corals. Make sure to QUARANTINE any fish you buy and treat them with fritz paraclense, fritz maracyan, and ich-x by Hikari. A good plenty of their freshwater fish have some illness present like velvet or ick.

Suwadi Ka! 🙏🏼 I drove an over an hour for a Betta fish for my daughter. She chose this perfect Phantom Iridescent Blue Grey beauty meet NoiNoi-means lil one in Thai lol! He’s perfect and the owners of the store were so knowledgeable about all things aquatic.They shared very helpful information for giving NoiNoi the very best Betta life! This store has an amazing hardscape selection, multiple types of stone and wood. They have some amazing center piece manzanita branches in stock at all times. Highly recommend anyone into aquascaping give the store a visit. Their plant selection is large and healthy but for the most part it's easier to keep beginner plants, limited selection for aquascaping. Their freshwater livestock selection is solid, they have both world cichlids, nano fish, catfish, oddballs, inverts, community, etc.

Stay away sell infected fish!! Sold me fish with ICH and never told me their return policy is only within 24. Now I have a 75 gallon of infected fish with ICH praying that they don’t all die!! Don’t go there. No money back, no store credit, no exchange and most important no customer education!!! Very sad. I spend thousand of dollars there and now all down the drain😢😢Update: I am so sad my angelfish died because of them. I am terrified that I will start loosing more fish everyday.

This place is great, in my opinion. They have a wide variety of fresh and saltwater livestock as well as many types of plants, equipment, feed, tanks and decorations. I have found the prices reasonable and never had an issue with the fish being ill. One particular staff member had a sort of know it all attitude that I found off-putting, but everyone else that I've interacted with has been exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly.

Their neon tetras have bent spines and are of extremely low quality (they might even have NTD). I got 45 and 10 of them have bent spines and a couple got sucked into the filter intake and died with more to come most likely. (we all know that healthy fish won't get sucked into the filter intake). They wanted a water sample but fish can't get bent spines from bad water in just 2 days and my water quality is pristine (6.9 ph 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia, 20 nitrates). The customer service member was extremely rude and tried to blame it on me being a bad fishkeeper and causing the bent spines. She would not give me a refund because it is 24 hours past the day I bought it. i would give zero stars if I could but google only lets me do one. never going here again.

Be advised, take a very close look at the fish you buy from Tong. I have gotten dead and sick fish from this store, and if added to a healthy tank, it will put your other fish in danger. They won't take responsibility for the damage and won't even give you a small discount for the purchase of new fish.

Very friendly staff and huge selection of fish to choose from. I'm not an expert on aquariums or the fresh/salt water fish, but what I particularly come here for are the beta fish. I love the different varieties of beta fish that they carry here! Unlike many of the other pet stores, I have yet to come across a beta that's unalive in the cup. There are so many different colors, sizes, and types to choose from. I've personally purchased two from here, and they are always healthy and alert.

It's a nice store with a good selection but the prices are extremely high and I bought five female guppies from them last week and whatever those guppies had completely wiped out my tank. I had about 30 guppies and now I have three left. It wasn't something already in my tank. My tank had been established for a year and no new fish had been introduced for at least 2 months. I know how to keep a healthy tank.

I love Tongs! When a friend gave me my first tank five years ago, he suggested filling it up with fish from Tongs. I still have the majority of those fish today! The staff is very helpful, very knowledgeable, and friendly. The pricing is also better than you'll see at your chain pet stores.

They have a huge variety of fresh and salt water fish as well as supplies and chemicals. The tanks are very clean, the employees extremely friendly and knowledgeable and plenty of them ready to help, so the waiting time is short.We bought some beautiful Discus. wild caught Clownfish and a red Goby that are happily adjusting in our tanks.

The people who work here are kind and knowledgeable, and very patient. I've bought things for my salt water set up in the past and it was amazing. Today I bought some fresh water plants and two bettas. The betta I've had for years really loves the plants and my new bettas are absolutely beautiful. And such a fantastic deal! My betta set ups aren't nearly finished so I'll be back soon but for now my fish are very happy. So grateful for Tong's!!I highly recommend this shop, they have such a wonderful selection. The best.

An aquarist paradise. 1st time expression this place is huge, or in the owners words it's like a warehouse. You get greeted with a selection of foods I had not found in Orange County. With rows and rows of fish, supplies, hardscaping supplies, of fresh or salt water. This is my new favorite Disneyland with the select species fish to avoid costly shipping and handling.

The only thing I didn't like was that there was this one giant fish in a small tank, and literally couldn't really swim freely in the tank. And well also the betta displays on the sides both bettas were dead. I mean bettas are hardy fish... sooo...Other than that it was great experience. They have a variety of fish.I got a female betta fish for my empty 5 gallon tank. And some aquascaping glue.Anyways over all they have many supplies, Beautiful fish, bettas, and have everything u need for proper tank set up.Enjoy😌

Great place to buy plants. Not really with fish. This is more of a turn in burnt operation so fish are not taken care of and die pretty quickly if you don't know what you're doing

I only ever come here for fish food or supplies (cheap supplies only). The store is huge with plenty of selection but the quality of the fish is substandard and they’re way overpriced. I’ve seen many sick fish with ich, epistylis, fin/mouth rot, etc. (the worst I’ve seen were some large boesemani rainbows and one of them literally had its lower jaw rotting off). They had some large roseline sharks for sale and they were severely discolored and idk if it was due to them being infected with some disease or if they’re just badly inbred. The first red flag that everyone should be aware of is “No guarantee” written on some of the tanks which translates to “some of our fish may be sick and might die and we will do nothing about it”. Experienced fishkeepers know that when they see that written anywhere in a fish store, RUN. The workers there don’t even know anything and instead of saying “I don’t know”, sometimes they will just make stuff up. Hell, the guy with the beard on Instagram doesn’t even know the difference between a redtail shark and a rainbow shark

Tongs is an iconic tropical fish store. It's been around for a long time. We came here 15 years ago and it was old then. It's high volume, if your local fish store doesn't have it, Tongs probably does. Looking for a cheap $20 tank to keep that goldfish your kid won alive, Tongs has it, probably next to $2,000 reef set up. It's not as pretty as some newer shops, but it's established, 1000's of fish, 1000's of hard and soft corals, polyps, crabs, shrimp and more. The wife and I have been to 100's of tropical fish stores in the 30+ years we've had salt water tanks. We go to Tongs to treasure hunt, some of the mystery frags we've purchased have grown into very nice surprises. It's not the prettiest, but if you've been in the hobby for a while, you'll be surprised at what you may find here.

I was able to find an assortment fish, plants and material. the material is kinda pricey but all in one place. My only two complaints are really the lack of knowledgable staff that was available. The girl behind the counter couldnt answer any of my questions and the rest were so busy catching up with setup that they were not approachable (they didnt open on time.) their staff showed up at 10:30 and didnt open til 10:40. Maybe the experience would be different a few hrs in... or on a weekday.

I need some feeders and end up going this morning at 10:30 right when they open. what I notice was the workers rushing around scooping out all the dead fishes from their tanks. There were lots of dead fishes of variety. I looked at their feeders and I can see that all of them were so skinny and sick. So, I looked around to see how bad the other fishes are fairing. To my expectations every tank has a sick fish if not more. I did end up getting some feed just to feed my fish for the next few day and I expect a few to die today and it was ok since I can use those to feed my fish. But when I got home and put the feeders in the feeder tank and a few hours has pass now, more than 15 had died. some were super skinny that I had not notice and some has fungus growing on them. I end up not feeding any to my fish and trying to treat these at the moment.I have to say this place either care more about the money or just doesn't know how to care for fishes. Sad seeing workers coming in the morning and scooping 1/4 bag full of dead fish.Need to find a good shop that sell healthy fish. these fish will definitely infect other fish for sure if not treated.

Tong's is my favorite tropical fish store! The variety of fish, plants, and supplies is amazing! The tanks are well maintained and they know their fish! The staff is really helpful too! I always spend way too much time in there! (I don't want to leave, lol)

The store isn’t very clean. I mean the stock tanks and frag tanks. Some fish were dead floating around and some visibly stressed (colors all gone or turned brown) others had ick. Their prices were pretty typical but don’t buy unless you Qt. The staff was cool and helpful

Great place for supplies and fish. They have a good selection of fresh water and salt water fish. This is the largest store I've seen around. Lots of parking and its next to the 405 freeway off magnolia. The staff is friendly and take good care of the customers.
