Awesome place for family time. Tons of reptiles and surprise animals to see and plenty for the kids to do. My kids absolutely loved feeding the turtles and fishes in the front pond, as well as the tortoises in the front and back end of the zoo as well. Beautiful display of gorgeous reptiles from around the world!

Love Jay and his crew. Went all of the way from NJ to get there. He is a 100% real person and absolute gem. Animals are well kept and the kids had a great time. Would love to get out there again.

It's always an incredible experience to be surrounded by positive individuals. Jay Brewer's reptile zoo is truly excellent, and the entire staff there is amazing! Juan and Juliet provided us with assistance and shared their knowledge about the reptiles. If you're seeking an unforgettable adventure, I highly recommend visiting Prehistoricpets in Fountain Valley, California! You'll have a fantastic time filled with positive energy and loads of fun!

Very very nice and cool place. Love all the staffs are very nice you can see that they love it there. A lot of different reptiles, a really good place to learn. Jay is amazing, the sweetest guy. Been just watching and amazed by his bravery and sincerity taking care of all the animals. I salute you Jay, you can say Im a fan. This place, and Jay made my non-snake lover husband loves them. We had a blast going to this place. We felt welcomed and just everything was amazing.

If you are fascinated with gigantic snakes this is a cool place to visit. Lots of different snakes and monitor lizards along with some huge specimens. Awesome place and not expensive to see the animals. Hope to go one day when Jay decides to let one of the gigantic retics out to slither around and experience that...

My partner and I were just trying to find something fun to do in LA before we headed back home so we stopped here. We thought we were just walking into an exotic pet store but were happy to see that they had a zoo! That was the last moment we were happy with our experience here. The staff was okay - we had very minimal interactions with them. The animal husbandry was awful. The enclosures were pretty much all too small and all too filthy. They had cohabited several species that shouldn’t be cohabitated. There was mouth rot, missing fingers, weight issues and LOTS of improper shedding. There was a rattle snake there that had so much scale spread going on, there was no way anyone taking care of them could claim ignorance to their weight issues.Where are the water features for the MASSIVE semi aquatic snakes?! Nope! Just 4x2 enclosures (the proper size for a single bearded dragon) and a dog water bowl. They have American Alligators laying in a litter box filled with water (& a large amount of feces) as their pool.Do better or shut the place down. These animals deserve better.

Great day to spend at the Reptile Zoo. Feeding turtles, picture with a boa, and hands-on educational activity!

We had a birthday party here for our 4 year old daughter. Amazing in every way. Anh Tai was the handler/presenter and did an great job with the group. He kept everyone engaged and the younger ones who were nervous at first relaxed and were excited to participate by the end. Could not have been happier with the experience.

Great place to take the kids and learn about reptiles. Kids get to touch snakes and tortoises plus more. Staff is nice and educated the kids a bit too. Huge alligators too!

One of my favorite places to go! It’s fun feeding the tortoises and the staff are always willing to talk about the reptiles and answer any questions.

Rating this place is nearly impossible because I’m not sure that I agree with what’s happening here. But I’ll try to be as detailed as I can be. Judge more in the review than the rating.I heard about Prehistoric Pets ages ago and finally got the chance to visit with my son today. It is in a plaza so there is plenty of free parking. When you go in you are greeted by a large turtle enclosure next to giant tortoises in the pet shop section. To get into the Reptile Zoo adults have to pay $10 and kids over 4 pay $8. There are additional add ones like feeding the turtles or taking s picture with a snake. The Reptile Zoo is unbelievable! It’s huge with enclosures large and small! There are even a couple exhibits close to zoo quality. They have literally the largest snake I’ve ever seen. It just keeps going... it’s overwhelming! There is a glass window giving you a view of their python breeding area. My imagination ran wild. Hundreds of GIANT snakes! I heard from the employees that was nothing... they had tons of snakes back there. I don’t know how I feel about all this. It’s clearly for profit and not to help the species. There have been a lot of negative reviews about the conditions the animals on display are kept under and why I’ll not a reptile expert, I didn’t get that same feeling. While there are TONS of animals, the ones I saw had plenty of room and had water in clean cages. One bit of proof was that this place didn’t smell which is amazing. But again, I’m not an expert. All the animals in the zoo are not for sale, so I think there are a lot of rescues which I’m cool with. The employees were nice about answering questions and there were A LOT of employees around. I could have stayed all day asking questions. So on one hand this place gets a 5 star rating from a spectacle standpoint, the morality questions don’t allow me to give it a 6. In fact, I may even decide (as I learn more) to chance my thoughts to a 1. I just need to think more about it and maybe learn more. I WANT to say this is the coolest place ever! But honestly, my gut tells me that they’re profiting on the misfortune of these animals and that’s just not cool. I’m telling myself the zoo are rescues, in which case my rating stands... but obviously the thousands of snakes they’re breeding in the back are another thing...All in all a crazy place. If your conscious let’s you, absolutely check it out to judge for yourself.

I just got a baby boa a few weeks ago who wasn't eating seemingly no matter what I tried. I figured let me bring her over to the experts which was a very good move. Olav had everything under control and was successful in getting my snake to eat within 10 minutes that I couldn't do in a couple of weeks. He was very knowledgeable and professional as I can say about the rest of the staff there. This is the place to go for anything and everything reptile with great staff and every product under the sun for reptiles, many of which you won't even be able to find in other well known pet stores. Thanks again Olav.

An absolute disgrace. Zero care for correct husbandry. Over crowded, filthy and several animals with severe visible health issues.

This place is amazing. If you're a reptile lover, you should come check it out. If you have littles... they will love it. Feed the turtles and coi fish that are right at the entrance in the pond. Or the big tortoises that are right next to the pond.I have to add... If you have reptiles that require superworms, crickets, pinkies, etc... This is the place to buy them. Forget going to Petco. Their containers of worms are terribly shelved, and most of the insects are dead or eating each other. That's all.

Loved it. Clean conditions, good staff, neat animals. Has a gift shop and a zoo. I did not check out the gift shop but the zoo was fascinating. Information given on the creatures was minimal; venomous animals were marked as venomous. Many families were present.

Fast and friendly service for the most part was kinda bummed because the snakes I wanted were slightly bigger than the picture posted on the website I thought they were babies but bought them anyway got the pair for $500 boy and girl named them Adam and Lilith, Adam is yellowish and Lilith is a darker color.

LOVED this place! Knowledge employees who are clearly working their buns off in there! The tortoise feeding areas are super cool and we loved the zoo area. Went in there for some stuff for a new snake I just got and was given some great info. Planning on taking my niece back there to feed the animals and check out some cool reptiles. This place rocks.
