This is a review for the Safeway supermarket in the middle of Foster City. The market was clean, and had a good selection of food and products. The staff was courteous, and in general does not take a lot of time to pay for your groceries. If you are doing your groceries shopping here, I do recommend that you join the Safeway club to get the discounts (this is free). Parking is easily available. Near by this supermarket one finds some restaurants and a couple of parks.

If you specially shop the sale items at Safeway you do okay. Otherwise, some things are priced too high. The digital items are the best buy if it's something you use.

I got two packs of chickens (drumsticks and thighs) last night from Safeway, and both smell so bad and disgusting. I had to throw them out. Date on the packages indicated that they are not expired! What a waste of money!!!

Neat, safe, quick and reliable. I love the Sandwich and hot food department. The staff there are very personable and take their time and don't try to rush you. I love them in my neighborhood, thank you!

Overpriced. One impossible meat patty was $10 ($9.99 if you want exact) and I had to get two because I had a vegetarian friend. Real meat is literally cheaper at Costco. I could get 4 patties for $10 at Costco. Not to mention, fake meat is also WAYYY cheaper at Costco. Safeway is acting like a tourist trap. A small bag of jelly beans was $2.5 and my friend wanted it so I bought it for him and then he said he didn't like it. It was like 30 jelly beans in there for $2.5. It's literally a robbery.

There were no carts, when I asked I was told “yea, they have been stolen”. I had to cut the diet soda’s from the list, couldn’t carry it all.When checking out, the guy took no care packing the fruit and veges. Ripped leaves off cabbage and just threw everything in the bag.Left me with the feeling that management needs a lot of work!

Update: Safeway is moving away from their ridiculous urbanization trends in pricing and fresh vegetable packaging. Pricing is approaching expectations, but still not there.I'd really like to see this Safeway modify all of their open refrigeration units to be closed - it would be cleaner, more energy efficient and keep the food safer (temperature wise.) there's really no excuse to keep eggs and dairy products in refrigerators without doors.The team members at the store are still great, but the pricing is really terrible.

Ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. When I went to pick it up, it just wasn't there. They simply didn't make it. When I asked what they could do for me, they offered to sell me a random cake off the shelf at full price. Completely unacceptable. I will never shop here again.Edit: I contacted them directly as they requested that I do in their response to this review. They confirmed that the store received the order but did not make the cake. They did nothing for me and offered nothing. No one should ever shop here.

The cashier lady who was running lane 3 today was extremely rude and threw my eggs in a bag without even caring as gave and was very rude when I asked for another bag for them. She also was very rude to the lady who was ahead of me as well.

Music is terribly loud! I came to this Safeway with a long list of things to buy. The loud music (much louder than usual), almost impossible to concentrate on my shopping list. I went to Customer Service but I was told that the manager is on the lunch (at 8pm) and nobody can lower the volume! I spent 40 minutes in the store and got out with headache! Not my store anymore!

Literally open from 8am - 2am every day of the week. Easy access from E Hillsdale Boulevard, with ample, safe parking outside the store. They stock pretty much everything you would need in terms of food/ household items and they have a pretty decent selection of alcohol. Can be a bit pricier than buying in bulk from CostCo or Target, but I guess the convenience comes at a price.

One of the finer Safeways in the Bay area very casual comfortable vibe. No need to lock down products. Have plenty of help with self check out available and large selection for any item you seek.my Interaction with staff and fellow shoppers was pleasant. Overall great store.

Is this store closing down? I went there tonight and the deli was closed at 6:30. There was a display case of food and I couldn’t buy any of it much less the deli meat and cheese I needed.There was one checker for large carts and an entire store of people. The other two checkers were for 15 items or less. I called the store from the long line I was waiting in to ask them to please open another line and no one even answered the phone.Are there problems at this store? I won’t be going back anytime soon.

This is place has lots of variety and good selection of foods. My only feedback is I wish they have vegan option in their deli.After the renovation, the layout has been really good. Staff here is very good and helpful. Some are friendly. There are days that are busier than others. But overall good.

The most convenient store close to my place. Been going to the store for more than 20 years. I can find most of the stuff which I am looking for and they slso gsve asian stuff but off course not cheap compare to asian grocery store but when we arectalking about last minute and other stores have closed then Safeway to the rescue. All of the stuff are fresh and I like the sale item too.

I really like this Safeway. Yes, the parking is difficult. It's always crowded. Now in the era of COVID-19, the lines are longer. But I appreciate that they are taking precautions to ensure our safety. Also they have a gorgeous floral department. And their produce is top notch. My kids are crazy about their fried chicken! The reason it's always crowded is because it's a great supermarket!

The freezer, deli and produce were beautifully stocked. A noticable improvement. However I'm disabled and there were no leaves open that would fit my motorized cart. Points for offering a cart, but they need to have checkout access.

Pretty solid Safeway in a convenient location. Large enough to have good selection, produce always seems fresh. Deli service can be slow, and checkout lines can be long when it's busy even with most open. Parking lot can also be frustrating with the layout, but that affects everything in the shopping center.
