The owner is rude and will charge hundreds of dollars for nothing. We took a Honda 7k generator because it won't start. Two weeks later we pick up the gen and they charged us 260$, only to realize that generator still won't start. And we drove two hours from Fortuna to our place. We called them and they said to bring it back. Ok! So we moved once again super heavy gen and drove once again for two hours. After we haven't heard from them for more than two weeks, my partner went there to see what was going on and they said he need to pay 800$ because they have to change the alternator. When he asked about the first charge of 260$ they couldn't provide the answer about what was fixed for that money. Also, he asked why they didn't call us first to check if we are okay to pay that much for the repair and after all why they didn't call when the generator was done? They lied to his face and said they try to call us but we didn't answer the phone. He told them to take off the alternator because he won't pay another 800$ when they charged us 260$ for absolutely nothing and at that moment the owner started yelling at him, his words exactly: “I’m DONE WITH YOU GET THE F... OUT OF HERE AND DON'T BRING YOUR SHEET HERE ANYMORE!” So my partner took the gen and left while this one continue yelling the same thing over and over again. Well, I can assure you that we have no attention of visiting your shop ever again, and I am gladly sharing this experience with all of our friends and neighbors, especially the ones who have the same business as ourselves, so they can avoid your shop.

They have prices that are every bit as good or better than the chain stores. Very knowledgeable staff. Experienced with logging and equipment. They are able to repair Husqvarna and Honda equipment.

Over the last couple of years I have gone to them for various parts and advice, and I have been nothing but pleased. Not only are they friendly, but their prices are competitive with online prices. While I love to shop local, so often I find prices local to be unnecessarily high. With this place the choice is simple, great prices, great service!

Great staff. Some day I hope to be able to own the professional-grade equipment stocked here so that my lawn and landscape will be immaculate.Right now, I barely have time to mow it the three times a year that I do, and that's only because the neighbor's dog got lost in the grass, and I was responsible to lead the expedition to retrieve the collie.If you guys ever offer the roomba version of the lawn mower, I'm on board.

Took a honda 2k generator to this shop to be repaired. The kept it for a week, said they fixed it and charged me $35. After getting the gen home it worked for a few hrs but then repeated its problem. As it is a backup gen and fortuna is a good distance from my home on alderpoint, I did not return to complain or ask for further work. Fortunately, Milts Saw shop in Garberville reopened so I took the 2k to them to look at. Turns out they reassembly of the interior by Scotty's created another problem on top of the original problem that they did not fix. As a result, the current fix requires an extra $100 part to replace the part damaged by the sloppy reassembly of the generator by Scottys. I cannot recommend the service department of Scotty's nor will I patronize it for any future needs...

Clean and organized store, they didn't have the part I needed but he gave me the cleanest used one he had which was great he said he would do what he could and i wasn't going to leave empty handed i was very happy. Go here first before any other spot. Thanks guys
