Our local Safeway has been a staple for our town both as one of the largest employers and also providing groceries. A great staff of helpful individuals work there and are itching to help. The selection has picked up since the supply chain issues have been sorted. Very clean and well kept too, great selection.

I have visited this location 3 times in the past few weeks since my husband began working in town. Never again.I have thrown out now 6 containers of beef items that all showed an unexpired date when opened to cook yet were slimy and rotten upon opening to cook with. I also purchased quick foods near produce that I didn’t notice were already expired at purchase and had to toss. (I’m pregnant but either way, YUCK!) this is definitely a major issue and not a one time occurrence or I would not leave the review. When prices aren’t that low, how can you still stock foods that are rotten?? Feel free to contact me to resolve.

This is as solid a Safeway as you'd need. The essentials are all covered and there's a pretty large deli area. Prices are reasonable and seem to be consistent with grocery stores in the area. The store is clean and the staff was helpful when we needed their assistance.

Ordered curbside pickup 3-4 times. Every time they were very prompt. Only wish had option of no bags, but maybe I missed that. Shopped in store at least a dozen times. Website states no liquor sales before 9 am, but not sure that is accurate.

I mostly get what I expect at Safeway. It is annoying how frequently the price at the checkout is higher than what is posted on the shelf. It takes time if prefer not expend to resolve. Sometimes I wonder if this is part of Safeway’s business strategy.

They've done a bit of a remodel to this location recently, moved some stuff around and organized things. It's looking a lot better than it did about a year ago. Items are much better stocked and they seem well staffed again.Regular prices on most items are outrageous. The only way not to spend an arm and a leg on groceries is to shop the sales (which change every Wednesday) and I highly recommend using the Safeway app to get the best "For U" deals (which can save you a boatload of money, if you play your coupons right).This location closes at midnight. It used to be open 24 hours and I really wish that it still was because there is literally nothing open in this entire town between midnight and 5AM.

The store has great produce and a variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from also has great selection of meats poultry and seafood there deli is also packed with food to go plates as well as meats to be sliced to your liking five star rating on the deli customer service worker in the evening also has a great variety of breads rolls and buns from organic to gluten free.what i did not like was one of the workers there following me around and being disrespectful having a very negative attitude and aggressive demeanour i always wonder why individuals that are that miserable and negative choose to work in the customer service field i do not know his name nor would i care to know after following me around the store he then followed us me and my girl up to the cash register where the cashier Jil was working and had a negative demeanour towards her as well she was very cheerful and helpful got us out of there as quickly as possible ft.bragg safeway I commend ms. Jil for her great customer service and help she should get a raise on the other hand the miserable individual working there should do everyone a favor and just quit his job he seems as though he hates his job and doesn't enjoy it vs people like Jil thank you for making my visit to Safeway Ft.Bragg a very pleasant one she deserves 5 stars but the individual I speak of nicknamed miserable one made me give it a 3 star rating I will return on a different occasion and maybe my experience will be different to say the least i will find out this individuals name and not judge the whole situation on that visit but I like to inform my community of my experiences with businesses and places that I've enjoyed as well as disliked keep the people well informed so that they may or may not have to deal with things that i have afterall my findings are valid and the community is what makes or breaks a business

Here on the Mendocino coast there are just a few local markets, Purity, Harvest and a couple even smaller local grocery stores. I prefer the local markets. However, there are occasionally items either not available locally or on sale that have my wife shopping at virtually every market in town.Today she picked up a few items at Safeway, including two items from the deli counter, including the one pictured here along with the piece of hard plastic that was in it. I almost swallowed this piece of plastic.I don't really need to say how dangerous and irresponsible this was on the part of Safeway, but I will. Had this piece been in someone else's bite, say a child or if I had swallowed it, I might be posting this from the hospital instead of from my living room.Completely irresponsible!!Shop locally.

Bad very bad. Dirty floors, many empty shelves, and pieces of friend chicken spills all over next to the cashier. I step in and almost feel very slippery! Could be a disaster for me. I am 72 years old!

This is a fried burrito.... Basically it's just a deep fried tortilla. There was NOTHING inside it. And it's not like it was cheap. Totally disappointed.

Stopped to shop here and what a stark comparison to the other stores he had been shopping at prior to being in Fort Bragg. I was relieved to get some fresh produce and meat. I didnt think the place was all that great but Fort Bragg is a cool place so this was a nice change from other places I had been to.

The Safeway app was fun, till it stopped working.The cashiers are mostly friendly, though some evening managers act in ways I don't prefer. I think they could be more patient and butter knowledgeable. But the general staff is very great! Better not butter, but it's punny so I'll leave the typo.

Very rude cashier named Jill. Unprofessional, and has been rude to another cashier every time I come in. Not sure what the problem is between them, but I feel bad for anyone who's working with her. Needs to be moved or fired honestly. Not the first time I've seen her act like a child either. She's rude to customers as well. I would avoid her if you come in for anything, or go somewhere else.

Clerk was less than helpful but nice, get the impression he was new. Could not honor the $5 off next visit receipt coupon we had received the night before which was irritating. There's not a lot of grocery stores in Fort Bragg so it is what it is.

Price gouging. Constant miscalculations at the register and failure to honor their own marked prices much less online promotions. The staff is fine but this place is terribly managed at the uppermost level. The community at large has nothing but negative things to say about Safeway which explains the inordinate amount of fake reviews you see here... With a little effort you can fulfill your needs elsewhere for less while also supporting local businesses

The short deli girl in your store was amazing, as well as your meat guy cleaning the floor that waited on my on the service counter.I was in the grocery business 5yrs.Your team is awesome!

Safeway is one of the best stores I've seen and great prices especially compared to any other grocery stores anywhere. On top of that every employee that I have had the pleasure of getting to know are great people and take pride in the job they do always trying to be informative about the products they carry. No matter what I have brought up to them everyone has gone above and beyond any expectations.

This is a Safeway. Much like any other Safeway you've ever been in. Not great, not horrible. The best thing about this Safeway is that it's close to the coast, like everything else in Fort Bragg.

This store is well stocked, with fresh produce, a good selection of organics, bakery, meat counter, etc. I've always found what I needed. Prices are pretty high here and the seem to be understaffed a bit so lines are long. The staff is friendly.

The food is more on the expensive side, perhaps of its tourist location. The hot food is roughly made. I found a dead bug in my salad. Won’t recommend any cold food like salads since I don’t see quality control here.

I've been told "This is the busiest Safeway in California', believe it, it's super busy, but the staff still have time for any, & all of the customers needs, wants, & requests. I've encountered the friendliest most knowledgeable & helpful workers in this store. Customer service is alive & well at Fort Bragg Safeway!

While I understand Safeway's concern over thefts, to lock up all their hard alcohol, including the cheap stuff, seems overkill given the wines one aisle were free and clear for the taking. Then, one has to wait 15 ++ minutes for an employee with a key to mosey over and then to walk off with your selection without so much as a nod. Where was he going? When I asked the obvious question he just looks at me and says I have to take it to the front. All said and done, one 30 minutes for 1 purchase is too much.

As always, Safeway at Fort Bragg was a good-sized grocery store. We were able to buy fruits, some cleaning wipes, and face masks. We were able to use the phone number and get discounts on items.
