Because S&F is small, this store was the go-to place for fair prices on most everyday items. It’s nice that they have bulk items as well.The issue is that the prices have crept up to match the major stores now and in some cases, even higher. Some items doubled in price just one week.Their selection of items is not nearly as good as any of the majors, so to me there’s not much value in going there for everyday food shopping. unless there is a coupon or big sale.

Bad service (lines too long), bad produce, bad management (store littered with boxes), prices are ok though. Selection is usually pretty poor, too much store brand and sold out stuff.

I work here currently and I love it! We might not get everything we want in the deliverys that we ordered or on the truck loads, but I still love working here.Then again, we have "supervisors, that don't meet the perspective and depending who they are, the management and supervisors don't treat their employees with respect! They don't treat them like human beings.

I remember Smart &Final when it was across from Target Fairfield. I am pleased they've returned. I've always had the mindset they're on a mid level above a typical grocery store; and at the same time, below a costco style store. I think their prices are compatible and the quality of items is top notch.

Despite the current pandemic, this place is always stocked! I've never had any issues finding any of the basic groceries and cleaning supplies. They have great deals without the need of a membership. Employees are always friendly and do their best to ensure social distancing. Friendly advice: they will not let you in without a face mask. Also you usually have to get the shopping cart from one of the stalls in the parking lot because they hardly ever have any at the entrance.

Smart and Final is a discount grocery store. They have a parking lot they share with many other businesses but it’s more than adequate for the crowd. They have a big produce section and fairly large frozen foods section. They offer lots of big bulk items including a large candy section. Employees are usually friendly but you have to bother them at the register checking other people out as not too many are circulating in the store. They have good 🛒 shopping carts. They are especially busy after the nearby High School lets out (about 3:00 P.M.). The store has been clean every time I have gone. If my review is helpful please leave me a thumbs up! Thank you. So much better now, Cashiers always on alert to ensure lines are moving. This Store has improved a lot, the employees are so Positive. Still GOOD and the SALE is the best Price in town. To let you know, Smart and Final has the BEST Rotisserie Chicken in Fairfield. TRY IT, it's a $1.50 more than Costco, but WORTH IT.

Usually shopping here is pleasant. Today not so much. I had come thru with a group of items and had my card decline,This had happened before with multiple uses on my new card. So I went outside to call the bank and they said the card was fine, it was not.That would not have matter much, I would have thanked the cashier and went away without and dealt with it tomorrow. Except I told the second cashier , Lisa, what had happened before she began the transaction and her demeanor changed and she became very suspicious and rude. Being treated like that is not how a professional should behave. Making it more of an ordeal then it needed to be. So instead of just being upset with my bank, I'm completely turned off to this store. I would strongly suggest talking to Lisa, who was working just before 7 o'clock, about how to treat customers, because despite her supposed years as a cashier, she was one of the rudest I have met.

I love Smart & Final. When I need to shop in bulk that's where I go! Their meats and seafood are also good. My family absolutely loves their rotisserie chicken as do I! They are always juicy, tender and seasoned just right!

To Whom It May Concern,I am writing you because this is my fourth time going into your store and being harassed, discriminated and disrespected by Sonia the head manager at Smart and Final in Fairfield, California on Texas Street. I’ve never been treated so rudely and disrespected in my entire life. After the last time, on April 8th 2020, I decided to stay away for a month because she treated me so rudely through conversation and walking away while I waited for her to check my order. Prior to this there had been two separate and earlier hostile counts in mid-March.I am a Shipt Shopper. Before becoming a ship shopper and dealing with her harassment, discrimination and rude behavior, I was a customer. She even went so far as to accuse me of stealing. Stereotyping me unjustly. I asked her if I stole something, why are you not calling the police to report me? She didn’t answer. She just yelled for me to put my stuff on the counter and told me to hurry up and get out of her store after she made me wait 30 minutes before confirming my Shipt order that I completed for my customer. The only reason she finally confirmed my order is because I had to act like I was about to walk out of the store and have the other Black customer service representatives call her 4 times.This was her 3rd incident, where she humiliated me in front of a line full of customers and staff. This particular time the customers were even talking about it because they witnessed everything. She’s behaved like this twice before, so this time I proceeded to record the conversation and even though she knew I was recording she continued to yell and get berate me unprompted. I’ve never met Sonia until I started working at Shipt. I gave her a pass twice thinking maybe she had a bad day. But the third and forth time I’d had enough. But times left me shaking in anger and disbelief. I couldn’t understand how another human could treat someone as she treated me without a second thought. I really couldn’t believe that she was even in a position of leadership.Today on June 3rd 2020, I’d completed my Shopping for Shipt for my customer and as soon as I got to her register she said “What are you doing here, I told you that you are not allowed to shop here anymore.” I said my company never told me I couldn’t complete orders here and I’ve already completed my shop for the customer. I said no one from Smart and Final told me that I couldn’t shop here. She said, “ I am in charge of this store and I said you can’t shop here. Leave the store.” Again customers are witnessing everything. She proceeded to say that she will checkout this order but it will be the last time. She continued to be disrespectful and undermining. Soon she refused to check my order and took my cart, not doing what she had claimed to do prior, which was to proceed and process my checkout.In response, I asked her for her head manager or corporate information. She said she doesn’t have a manager in charge of her. I left the store. Again she is aware that I recorded her and took her photo. After being humiliated, harassed, and discriminated against countless times by the the same manger after every interaction, I would like to officially escalate this continuous dispute to Smart & Final’s Corporate Manager. It’s not fair to anyone to be treated as I have been treated for the past three months by a person who is meant to lead by example. Sonia truly is not a good fit for the position she holds as Manager, perhaps Jesus would be a better fit for her position. The short, cubby female manager is rude & unprofessional. She made exchanging expired items I purchased there, extremely difficult. It shouldn’t be an issue for a customer to exchange expired/spoiled items purchased from their store. They must removed expired food from the shelves or be courteous while customers request exchanges. Simple!FYI: CUSTOMERS plz pay attention to expiration dates. SMH

I have reviewed the previous reviews before adding my own ... I do relate and agree with most posts - there is a HUGE DOWNFALL on long lines and # of cashiers or lack thereof ... this store was a great addition to the neighborhood but so sad to say the long lines and most times only 2 cashiers - this is not only unfair to customers, but employees as well. I used to frequent the store but have scaled back because of the continuing problem with lines and staffing. to top that off I was almost run over by a stockboy moving pallets around ... as he rudely passed me I noticed ear buds in his ears - unbelievable and unsafe...reflects poorly on the managers ... for as long as this has reflected in the reviews some improvement should have occured by now . . .

I shop here frequently and usually good selections but this is like the 4th time I've come in the Morning to get fresh produce and they either are out of stuff or have molded fruit, bananas are old and brown had to walk out and go to Walmart. Other than that the staff is usually friendly and caring

Bigger than the old store. Always has a good selection of items. Good idea of being bigger than a convenience store but smaller than a grocery store. Rarely have found anything out of stock and employees are friendly.
