Omari, our clerk was amazing! He was courteous, knowledgeable, and wonderfully respectful! I was so incredibly grateful for his help. He allowed my 9 year old to bag the groceries- He was so patient. Overall it was his kindness that made the visit a 10 in my book! Is definitely a peaceful end to the day.

To be fair, the staff here is very nice.. However, they lock up a lot of merchandise and it's difficult to get anyone to help. Also, they do not answer the phone... I waited 15 minutes at the pharmacy to ask a question and called 3 times while I was waiting, but they do not answer the phone and you can't leave a message

The new self checkout are awful and, humiliating . Its recording you an shows u ur self it pauses an alerts the worker to come check if your stealing often an it's unreasonable .The problem is the system isn't functioning correctly. Which is humiliating to treat everyone like a criminal. when you switch food from ur hand from right to left . I scan with my right hand because I'm right handed obviously. Then switch the product to my left hand to place it on scale so system can recognize the weight of item to verify that I'm purchasing it. The scale is on the left side so it makes sense to switch my product from my right hand to my left hand instead of reaching all the way over with my body and place it down with my right hand . It's more efficient and makes sense. What doesn't make sense is the camera scanning my entire body an questioning why I'm placing a product down with my left hand . Why is the system questioning that I'm moving the product from my right hand to my left hand. It's policing me an scanning me . Then the system accusing me of stealing an having a worker verify. Which is fine because I wasn't but the way it set up is degrading . When the system should see that the product I just scanned is the weight of the product that I just placed down on the scale. The only reason why the system should ask for verification is if the weight is off on the scale or if the product was not placed on the scale after being scanned. Not ask for verification because it's watching my hands , when the product weight is correct on the scale . That is reasonable because the system needs to verify the purchase.It happen three times to me because I had a normal amount of groceries to last about a week. This is a problem a people aren't going to put up with this .This is fairly new, and I would hope the company would reconsider fixing this. Humiliating your customers isn't good for business. Going to go back and record this happing a put this on ticktock.

Can't beat $5 Friday. If you don't mind spending a little more gor the higher quality products it's the most convenient place to do some quick shopping. Pretty much everything you might need from baby food and diapers to pet food and quality produce.

JUST WENT TO SAFEWAY ON WATERMAN BLVD. , ONLY ONE REGISTER OPEN. NOW THEY WANT EVERYONE TO USE SELF CHECKOUT. PAY THERE PRICES AND DO THERE WORK. MAYBE THEY WANT ME TO USE WALMART. I WILL SHOP RAILEY'S.

They lock their customers inside the store now. If you pop in for a quick second and don’t find what you need, you have to wait in line or find an associate to let you out. When an associate yelled at me telling me I couldn’t go out the way I came, I told them I’m not buying anything and they told me I have to go around. I went to that register and the cashier let me walk through. All those unnecessary steps for the same result. It’s very uncomfortable and redundant, and they need to have a better system for this. I see other customers complaining about the same problem. I don’t even want to shop here anymore because it was so embarrassing. Raley’s is nearby and I would now recommend them over this place for an easier shopping experience.

Safeway has now locked you in the store. I went in and didn't find what I needed and tried to leave and had to have an associate let me out. Safeway, I do not feel comfortable being locked inside your store. I will surely find somewhere else to shop. I understand you need to protect you assets but by locking customers in your store? No thank you

The products are diverse and meet most needs, the prices are about what you expect in this current economic climate, and the line wait to checkout is not too bad as the cashier's are efficient and friendly. The main problem is the customer service. If you end up needing guidance or direction while you're shopping you will probably have a hard time finding someone you can help you as the workers are either in the back or just absent from the floor.

It is a bit pricey by comparison, but this store is very well stocked.The floors are clean and all of the prices are in order, a very nice experience shopping here.The cashiers are very friendly and apparently care about people in general.I would definitely shop here again even if I can't get generic dish soap for less than $3 or milk at around $3.49.The sales ad didn't seem to have any usually awesome deals this week.Overall it seems about 30% more expensive than the bargain chain stores or I would have given 5 stars.The prices might be worth the availability & convenience for some and the atmosphere is outstanding in comparison to other stores.

For me Safeway is the way to go for a army of fresh flowers. No better way to say I'm sorry for clogging the toilet than with a beautiful arrangement of flowers. This costed 50 with a vase.

Been coming here for awhile as I like Safeway/Vons stores, but this one might be the worst. Horrible selection of meat, especially steaks. Also, the lines are always the longest. Why have 9 lanes if only 2 are open and there are at least 10 people in each line. This happens every time.

Clean, higher end grocery store that typically does a great job. I have typically enjoyed their baked goods. However lately, O don't know what is going on.Several times I have purchased the cream cheese iced brownies only to find they did not label said brownies to contain chocolate chips as well. If labels clearly stated that? I would not have purchased these. I have had these odd batches from 3 local Safeways over the last few months and am just done.If you're looking for anything else? Not a bad store.

the guidelines for entering and leaving the supermarket cause me panic. I have entered twice and I feel desperate. I don't like that supermarket anymore. I have changed my pharmacy to another supermarket. what a pity the pharmacy service was great. I don't see people like before, it's emptier... so bad! 😔

If you go in this store, it is clean but many employees are rude !But, there is one employee usually working at the quick checkout, his name is Thomas !This human being is amazing!He has a disability at his right arm but he works better and faster than most of employees working there!He deserves respect and kindness.

Very efficient employees... I placed my cart out of the way to look at the meats and when I turned around my cart was gone. It was full of food. I kept turning and touring looking for it. And saw am employee with an arm load of the same things I put in my cart. He had already put half away. I was like now I have to go get the rest. Very efficient... Irony at checkout it was the same employee.

I asked for help and the deli guy said "No" I couldn't get his attention at first. But maybe he heard me wrong. Face mask and a soulful voice in a load area like the deli. The other person was on top of it immediately.

Very poor customer wait times at checkout. With no self-check available in the store, customers often wait in long lines behind one or maybe two cashiers--never enough open to handle the number of people wanting to check out. I've been in checkout lines with more than a dozen customers and only one cashier working. Calls for more cashiers go unheeded. Management couldn't care less. After three months of this, I now shop elsewhere.PS--Three years later, I decided to return to this store for a few quick shopping runs and I must say, nothing has changed. Management remains utterly contemptuous of their customers' time. The checkout situation remains a serious issue--too few cashiers for too many customers. If you want to waste your time, go to this Safeway.PPS--I returned to the same store this afternoon and found nothing much has changed. Same issues as before. Sure, they've added (finally) a self-service checkout areas. But there are still too few live cashiers or customer service people. Plus, the store no longer carries paper bags. No paper bags. Just plastic bags. Poor management decisions continue to abound at this store, sadly.

5/13/22I was here yesterday, and felt like the cashier was passive aggressively shooing me from the store. She asked if I like sardines multiple times and I said yes each time. I don’t know why she did that, but eventually she suggested multiple times I buy my sardines from Grocery Outlet. I have no problem shopping at discount stores, but as a POC, she seemed to be making a coded attempt to tell me to go shop in what most would consider “the ghetto”. Why would I be advised to go elsewhere for something I was already buying here? And regularly buy here.Most of the cashiers here are cold with me. It’s very hurtful. I thought someone was actually being kind this time. Perhaps this cashier meant well, but still went against the grain.Update 5/23/22:I spoke to “Misty” the store manager regarding a complaint I had about being profiled constantly at this store. I explained that I have struggles feeling comfortable here because of this experience and feel like little was actually done to fix the problem. She offered some explanation about one person I identified, but I wasn’t really given time to explain much about the staff members who I had problems with. The previous week. She’d ask for more information but before I could say all I needed I’d get interrupted or the subject would change. Her best offer seemed to be to order my groceries online so I don’t have to even come inside of the store. I find that both sad and insulting because I should be able to shop inside. Like everyone one else, comfortably, and without fear of being discriminated against.8/12/22Jontae is super irritating. He won’t just ring up your groceries until you cross your arms. He’ll provokingly shoot the breeze with equally inconsiderate colleagues while watching your frustration build. He spent about three minutes and only rang two items. I try not to shop at Safeway anymore, but unfortunately I have to sometimes because of items or practicality. Please manage your time better!

they got self check out area now, which added like three stars to this review. kinda has the urban metal corraling which you wouldn't expect in this suburban area but whatever they want to do to facilitate self checkout it is worth it.

Love this Safeway - 5 star store.PROS: Friendly and helpful staff. They have everything I need. Great produce section. New to the area, I was happy to find a place so convenient. Even the shoppers are friendly and helpful to this new transplant. I felt at home.CONS: Too many door dings despite the ample sized parking spaces. Bad luck or a bi-product of having an expensive car?

Deli department was phenomenal. Starbucks guy was solo, but didn't bother to even acknowledge that I was standing at the counter. He looked right at me several times and said nothing not a hello, give me a minute nothing. I get it you are busy but acknowledge that you see your customers waiting. So I left and took my business to a real Starbucks

It's a nice store. It isn't a grocery store I stop by very much. This Safeway is located in a pretty busy parking lot. I was able to get most of what I needed. It was fine though, it wasn't anything that I had to have. Would I suggest this store? Yes. Will I be back? Maybe. It'll keep being the store I only stop by on occasion.

I hate shopping during the holidays but the staff at Safeway makes it not so bad. They keep the store stocked and clean. There's always a staff member to help you if needed and you are always greeted. You really feel like they appreciate your business. My go to place
