This is the first time I went to this vca location because our vet moved here. I really liked it. The staff was friendly & very helpful. My GSD gets excited when he sees other dogs so they made sure the lobby was empty when I arrived and left with him, which was very nice

Wow, what a trip. Not only was the receptionist completely rude to me, but the level of ignorance, arrogance and elitism shown to me when they told me that my cat was 'agitated' even though he was just finding comfort by being on my lap. But then the vet just grabs my cat by the nape, lifts him into the air super aggressively and then is shocked when my cat clawed him out of fear. He then THROWS my cat into a table after this and kicks us out, refusing to treat us.SCREW THIS PLACE AND ALL THE STAFF WHO WORK HERE

Dr. Anderson’s communication skills are poor and condescending. The nurse had no trouble examining our cat, Dr. Anderson on the other hand grabbed him by the scruff immediately upon entering the room, was shocked when the cat became stressed, and told us no vet will ever see our cat with the way he acts, then left the room. The nurse, without us asking, had to apologize for the way he treated our cat and the way he chose to speak to us and even recommended a ER visit for his symptoms. A formal complaint will be filed.

This location took care of my cat for 15 years. When Dr Loughner left I was worried about transferring my senior cats care. This last week my worries went away. Dr Marshall did everything should could and referred us to try our last options but sadly they were not enough. My husband and myself want to thank the team at VCA greenback for always being there. Especially Bethany! She knew my cat and always gave him treats and special attention. Her being present for his last moments meant the world to me and to my furry family member.

We brought our cat here, and the first vet was kind, but the second vet was a huge jerk. He instantly judged my wife and I when he walked in the room, then was extra cold to us as he blamed us for not getting special cat food. The problem was the first vet sent me home with 4 prescriptions, one being the food, without telling me one was more important than any other. We told this vet that it was out of our budget and he did not care, just basically told us we killed our cat. He was so incredibly rude to us during a horrible time. What he didn't know was that we had just spent over $10k, every single penny of our life savings, on our dog not even two weeks prior. Had I known the cat food was the most important, we would have gotten that before the other prescriptions. I understand that I messed up and should have gotten the food, but that was no way to treat someone. This vet shouldn't be anywhere near animals, and he should be ashamed of the way he treated us. I will never go back to this place. The rest of the staff was kind, which is the only reason they are getting more than zero stars. That vet was despicable, and if he can't treat others with kindness and compassion on a day we had to put my best friend down, then he should NOT be a vet.

We'll never go there again. The ladies at the front were nice to our puppy, no discredit to them. But we were told he needed a completely unnecessary vaccine (we'd already administered them) and he couldn't be over vaccinated. Clearly they lied. So my happy and healthy puppy got messed up due to their error. Never going there again. Do not recommend.

We followed Dr. Olson from her previous hospital. She had taken excellent care of our Cani Corsi and when the female became lethargic and wouldn't eat, we sought her out for a second opinion. Although her cancer was terminal, we stayed with VCA Greenback when we rescued a Cane Corso puppy (5th Mastiff/3rd Cane Corso). We honestly wouldn't trust the care of our animals to any Animal Hospital Dr. Olson wasn't affiliated with at this point. Well worth the trek from Cameron Park.

I can’t express how IMPRESSED we were with VCA Greenback. We just adopted our dog Angie and scheduled her free exam within 14 days. The day of our appointment we arrived at a fresh smelling, clean and organized facility with the most welcoming staff. During our exam Dr. Olsen was simply amazing—she was very informative, incredibly caring and genuine. My family would rate our entire experience 10 stars if we could. This office is a bright and shining example of how a veterinarian office should be. Thank you for everything you do!

All my pets are regulars Doc is great and having the insurance allows us to keep them in top shape. Oliver and Bermuda wouldn't have it any other way.

We took our cat in because he was struggling to urinate. He didnt have a blockage or uti that time, so the female doctor said it was probably stress. She emptied his bladder and had prescribed a mutltiude of things like gabapentin, prozac, clavillin, and calming food, but we feel she did not exactly stress what was most important. As we later found out, this turned out to be the food, which was the only thing we were not able to get in time. It was sold out where we tried to get it initially so we got the medicine instead, but then we didnt have enough money for the food. We told her we had just spent our life savings 2 weeks prior, paying for an emergency surgery for our dog, so we were struggling to pay for the appointment, let alone all of what she prescribed. She said a mix of what we could do was sufficient. In this time we saw our cat improving with the pill medicines and thought he would get better until we could save for the food. He did until he didnt. We took him into the vet again the very next day we saw him struggling and this time we had a male doctor named Dr. Anderson. The second he came into the door, the doctor was condescending and pretty much had a tone of blaming us for what happened to our boy. He barely let us speak before he said our problem was that we didnt buy the food and now we had to euthanize our baby immediately or send him to the ER and pay thousands due to a blockage. We spent everything we had and could not afford another ER surgery, so we had to consider euthanasia. Even though this was the best course of action to keep our baby from further pain, the tone in the doctor's voice and manner in which he told us the next steps was ridiculous given the circumstances. His snide tone felt like he was blaming us for not being able to afford an emergency unblocking even though we would have if we didnt spend every single penny we had to remove our dog's spleen just a couple weeks prior. We were trying our absolute best and the doctor did not seem to care at all. Not very much compassion. I completely regret allowing that doctor to euthanize our cat because his bedside manner was just atrocious. He made us uncomfortable the entire time and was extremely rude when my mother in law asked him a simple question. She asked if he was in pain and even though we knew the answer, we wanted to make absolute sure before we agreed to euthanasia and with exasperation, the doctor said "he can't pee!" That was completely unprofessional. He could have just said yes. He was also going on about how, "this is the very reason why I ONLY have female cats," as he is injecting the final injection into our baby's leg and we are trying to concentrate on saying goodbye. Very much the wrong time and place. The technicians however were the only solace we had in terms of gentle explanation and actual support. She explained everything in great detail with extreme compassion. I wish I had gotten her name because she was amazing and I am glad she was there. I understand that feelings are high and irrational when dealing with euthanasia, but I have never had such a negative experience with a veterinarian as I did here.

Seriously the sweetest and most knowledgeable staff. My cat usually has terrible anxiety at the vet, but they took such great care of her she didn't make a peep. When she got home she went right back to her normal self, which is definitely a first for after the vet. You can tell they really care about the animals and are not there just to take a ton of money from you. The staff is also very patient and kind, and the doctor was thorough with her exam. The doctor was also patient and answered all my questions with so much care. They also take awesome precautions when it comes to COVID. I would highly recommend them for cat care of any sort. So happy Bailey and I found our forever vet!

I’ve had vca greenback for a couple years and i finally had to find another vet due to how blatantly rude the receptionist was on the phone. My dog needed to be seen and she started laughing at me over the phone telling me I wouldn’t be seen in over a week. Im not mad at the availability issue but her response and lack of caring. I would choose another vca location until this gets resolved

Dr. Andersen is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, great with my dog. Spends a lot of time explaining the diagnosis and plan. Other vet staff are also kind and professional. Prices are reasonable.

So immensely impressed with this staff! The other night we noticed a large growth on our dogs ear, which through Google I learned was a blood clot. The next morning I called several places, in search of an appointment asap. On my 8th call, I struck gold! They got me in that day which was a Godsent but also, even on the phone the staff was kind and courteous. Puppers was pretty anxious when we got there and bothreceptionist came to try to help calm him. The doctor, Dr. Anderson & the nurse were both just as kind & caring. Dr. Anderson took his time, explained everything thoroughly. I didn't feel rushed one bit. The nurse explained our options & we could truly tell that they cared. The next day I received a text message asking how Abel was and if we had any questions or concerns. We live close to several vets however I will be taking our dogs here from now on. The level of care we received is worth the extra drive. Super thankful for this group.

My vet merged with this location, and I was not happy about it because the old location was 5 minutes away from my house, now it's about 20 minutes 😔. But I still love my vet and everyone is really nice and friendly.

I've been going here since I moved to the area 2.5 years ago. One thing this place does right, they hire great people. That being said, it is also a revolving door. Seems something is not great within the organization as they can't seem to keep anyone.I'm not too worried about it because again, the service has always been great. Even though I've experienced many changes with this place in such a short time, I have never had a negative experience with anyone. Each person seemed to truly care. From the desk staff, to tech, to the vets. The place itself is always immaculate. Well maintained both in the lobby and the exam rooms. It is a bit pricey but with such a large organization across the board, when my dog had an emergency, I was able to take him to the ER and they had his history. The loss of the star is because I do wish that I could work with the same people with whom I've build the relationship and know my dogs. And because I do feel the prices are a bit higher then they should be.

I have been bringing my two dogs here for a few years. They both have skin allergies and my oldest girl had cancer. Dr Rico is amazing with our babies. I have always felt her love for them. She gave me 6 more months with my girl by amputating her toe with cancer. She saw her every 3 days to dress the foot and keep her on the road to recovery. I think the entire team is amazing! When Che passed we got a beautiful card and a call. I just love them for everything

This place is so incredible that it was one of the plusses of moving back to the area after several years away--and they're still just as good! We already knew they were awesome with our cats (and we love that one area of the waiting room is set aside for felines), but when we got a rescue dog with a lot of anxiety, they somehow became even more awesome. They were SO patient with her, trying different approaches to see what worked best. This last visit I'm happy to say our little bundle of anxiety was not scared at all and that's a huge credit to the vet tech (sorry I didn't catch her name!) who worked at her place and really made sure to build up trust before doing anything with her. THANK YOU!!!

Dr. Loughner and staff have been Harley's caregivers for three years. We have always received very friendly service and caring about our dog's health. Highly recommend this vet. Staff has always been "over-the-top"; nice in person and as well as telephone assistance !!

Edit to update: I cannot say enough good things about this hospital! Their team is always kind, patient, and thoughtful when dealing with our animals. Our dog has recently been struggling with mobility, and they continue to be patient with her, accommodating to her disabilities, and thorough in their dealings with me. Joan called me today after doing some research to share with me what she found and can't thank her enough for going above and beyond!Original Review:Excellent staff and doctors here! They truly love animals and take the time to learn about you and your pet.

We took our first dog, Molly, to this vet for the last two years of her life. She was a disabled corgi with little to no movement in her back legs. The vets here took wonderful care of her up until we had to say goodbye last year. We just got a new puppy and we are so grateful to have an excellent place to take her. Thank you.

I have been seeking a vet to see my cat, many vets are not accepting new clients, this is one of them. Guess they are willing to watch animals suffer and die due to lack of medical help. They must be profiting greatly to turn away clients for the last two years. I read their reply and spoke with other vets. Yes, the industry has been impacted. However, my fur baby has either a hard road ahead (or no road) due to the inability to get care. No excuses for that.
