Their grooming service is great! I had a very dirty 80 lb. dog, so I did spend $115 on his grooming which was pricier than I expected, but they did a fantastic job. I love that they give "report cards" they use to grade coat, teeth, eyes, behavior, etc. and they leave notes if there's things to be made aware of. My dog tends to get irritated and waxy ears because of allergy flare ups, and they made sure to note for me to keep an eye on one of the ears due to it.My dog did get a C on behavior. Sorry guys! I know he can be a lot to handle but I really appreciate how good you made him look.

We are very pleased to have found Myrtle Avenue Pet Center. Moving here just at the outset of the pandemic lockdown, we needed to find pet supplies, a vet and you can imagine our standard poodle and soft coated wheaten terrier got quite scruffy. We found all three at Myrtle Avenue Pet Center. Both supplies and vet have been great but the groomers have really wowed us! They took the notes of our previous groomer and a couple of photos and made the dogs look amazing. Both beasts are strutting around like princes now. Receptionist (gentleman) during most of the day, is great with taking payments in the time of COVID, bringing out the dogs and just being enormously friendly. The young lady who checks in the dogs at 7:30am is either not a morning person or was just having a very bad day. Interaction with her is short-lived and that’s a good thing. By and large, the vast majority of the experience was fantastic and most importantly, our dogs returned home happy, healthy, well and looking beautiful!

The gentleman who works the counter, and does nail trimming and such, is spectacular. I brought my doggo, Abel, in and he was fabulous.If he is the same guy from last time, he also helped us find and fit a Gentle Leader on my dog. And it's been wonderful.Prices are what you'd expect from a smaller outfit of a store.Great variety.

The team is fantastic. We board our dog with Myrtle Avenue Pet Center and have been very happy with their service and support. My dog, Molly, always comes home happy. She doesn't do well with the larger boarding services. Thank you! Also, I always get excellent customer service. (Today, I had a wonderful interaction with Dasia! Thank your reminders about shots and always being pleasant, helpful, and caring.)

Went in with my recently rescued ACD to see about getting him groomed, and though he was too frightened to get professionally groomed, (I worried about him fear biting someone) Molly, the “head groomer” took time out of her busy schedule to talk to me about how to help my dog with some of his issues.She recommended to me to keep working on socialization and getting him used to a lot of stimuli as we think all the noise of the blowers etc were a large part of his fear. She also told me about some dog self-wash places that I might want to try in the meanwhile (good idea - checking this out) , and showed me some shampoos to consider. I definitely felt she was in no way trying to sell me stuff, and even talked me out of a few things I was interested in.In sum, she was so incredibly helpful, and I left feeling hopeful about my poor dog’s future 😂Excellent customer service is priceless - especially in this day and age. I’m really hoping I can get my dog relaxed enough to be able to use Myrtle Ave Pet Center for his grooming.

Attempted to use their boarding service and was informed I could use their services with my dog getting the one year bordatella shot. They waited until I showed up the day of to drop off my dog to inform me they only do 6 months boosters. They had ample enough time to tell me. The front desk lady was rude about it too. They're just lazy there. Definitely will be using someone else for the future.

Great for overnight boarding. These guys are wonderful with my 2 hyper girls. They have daily report cards and extra walks and massages for reasonable prices. This place has saved our butts when dealing with weddings and funerals out of state. I would give 6 stars is I could. The staff loves my dogs!

Good Variety of pet supplies and food.Friendly and helpful staff. I was there to find a specific kind of cat food my daughter asked me to purchase. They unfortunately didn't have it. However the gal that double checked the shelves to make sure I didn't miss finding it didn't find it either. She went above and beyond what would be expected. She offered to call another pet store (different company) to see if they possibly had any in stock. I declined her offer but, definitely appreciated the prompt offer to do so.

The staff is so amazing. They go above and beyond. Silas is always so friendly and helpful, he has helped me more then once carry dog food bags to my car. The groomers are great with my German shepherd he has anxiety and they always make sure hes happy.

Great little shop! Lots of selection for cats and dogs. The shopkeeper was very friendly and helpful. I loved visiting with the two golden retrievers behind the counter! My only complaint is the small selection of exotic animal supplies. However, I did find some of what I needed for my turtle at a reasonable price. Overall a great store, but don't come looking for anything other than cat and dog supplies.

The groomers are very good, and they're always ready to take drop Ins for nails and quick things. They do a good job at fair price. The store carries a good variety of food, toys, treats, meds and equipment. Fast, easy and reasonable. My go to place.

I use them often for daycare and overnight stays. Always cheerful, and they take great care of my dog, Biscuit. I highly recommend them to care for your pet. They also carry a lot of pet products

Very clean facility. A couple highs and lows though. My small dog (Dachshund) boards here when I'm not able to find a sitter and he is happy to come every day. However, my large dog (Border collie, Great Pyrenees) absolutely HATES it here. I seriously believe that he was treated poorly when he was a puppy here because to this day, he cries as soon as we walk in the door and will not let the groomers touch him. Their grooming services they offer are great for my small dog. I believe that staff definitely has their favorite dogs and that is totally fine but the ones that don't immediately cooperate should not be drug to the next location such as bathing. 2 years ago I had put up a 5 star review and I am sad to learn the things I have about the treatment of my large dog. I reluctantly left my pet here after they walked me back to where my pet would be kept. Upon seeing the uncleanliness I was horrified. Unfortunately, I was on a time constraint, and obviously did not have someone else available to watch my pet. The caged area smelled like urine and it was dirty. Very dirty. When returned to pick up my pet 2 weeks later, I had requested that he receive a bath prior to my pickup and extra attention while I was gone. I doubt he was given attention, but had hoped they would take special care of him since we paid the extra amount. He also was not bathed. I was told he was too nasty. My pet is the most mellow animal, he's never bit anyone. He was so upset and unhappy at this facility he defecated on his toys and blanket. His toys and blanket were returned to me unwashed when I picked him up 2 weeks later. They didn't even bother to wash off the feces. When I picked my pet up he was filthy, he smelled like excrement and he clung to me for dear life. I doubt they every let him out of the 2x2 cage. It was pathetic. I feel horrible. This place is bad news. Don't leave your animals here.

The store has the best of everything for all types of pets a little pricey but worth every penny. The staff is very knowledgeable about all in the store. I love the store and go there a lot. Great place.

No thanks. Ive seen, and heard multiple things that are negative, especially with grooming. Some staff are nice, others not so much. Also having customers in there using the self serve bath, which is also the same tub that is literally within 10 feet of the employed groomer in there. Thats a dangerous risk, having unknown dogs around customers dogs. Sorry but anything can go wrong. Self serve shouldn't be offered in that salon. Selection is ok. Rather go online or to another pet store.

I have boarded my 1 Year Old Presa Canario male here on multiple occasions ranging in 1-7 days at a time... every time I pick him up he looks happy and healthy, the grooming also does a great job here. I really appreciate their services. Best in eureka, arcata, McKinleyville area, it is all I recommend for boarding.

I love this place. I choose to take my dog in for a grooming session even though I live in Arcata. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They give the place a nice down to earth vibe.
