I took my standard poodle and labradoodle here a few weeks back after reading pretty decent reviews. My doodle received the worst cut in her 7 years and she was cut in two places in her hind quarters (obviously shaved too close). Her head looked like it shrunk 3 sizes. Her ears were ridiculously short. Her tail was cut like a poodle. Her face looked more like a Schnauzer. No one bothered to mention the injuries to me and I didn't see it until after leaving. The poodle's haircut was pretty average at bestbut her legs were cut way too short.Although the staff was nice and they did the work quickly, I made the mistake of trying to save a few bucks and trying something new. There may have been some confusion by allowing my daughter to communicate with the groomer so I rated this experience a 3 to be generous. Needless to say, I probably will not be returning to this facility.

What a wonderful experience for our little pup. They took excellent care of her and understood her anxiety as a rescue dog. The dogs have a nice social time. No cages needed. Its at the Five Points intersection in Escondido and a little confusing to find the first time. They did a superb cut and wash. We're dropping the big chains for this place.

Reasonable prices and happy dogs. They do a good job and don't cut corners with our labs. Nice to have a reliable place when the fur, the mud and nails get to be too much.

I was looking for a new place to get my babies hair done. I read the reviews from Raining Cats & Dogs and made the call. I called last minute and they still had time for both my fur babies.They were so nice, they did an amazing job.I will definitely continue to go back!My furry babies look so adorable and smell amazing!

I’ve never had such a horrible exp in my life. Took my 2 golden doodles in to get bathed and cut….. well…. I would never have expected to be really cut!! one of my dogs ears scorched on interior of both ears -and cut on her neck. It was a friday… so wasn’t able to take my baby to vet till Monday. Vet said it was quite horrifying. The vet said the groomer who happened to be the owner must have used an overheated shearing tool. $300 so far for vet bill. My dog and I are so upset. I talked to groomer and send her pictures… told her I expected to be reimbursed and then some. No answer back Hope I can l can pist this horrifying pictures

I've lived in Escondido for 22 years and have been taking dogs here nearly that long. The quality of care, attitudes of all the employees, and clean facility and equipment has never been anything less than excellent. Highly recommend!! Updated 11/27/17 - Toni has supported my dog rescue efforts for 7 years and makes the work of saving high kill shelter dogs a little easier. I appreciate her and her staff!

I will say it was a little on the high side price wise but you get what you pay for they do great work and really seem to care a great deal about the pets you bring in. It is a cozy atmosphere and my dog always seems pretty happy and at home there. Best of all they don't seem intimidated by his huge size and see him as the big and rather loud at times cuddle monster he is.

They have been grooming my dogs for a few years. They are kind, professional & personable. They have always treated my dogs well; even when one of mine was a little difficult to handle. Their pricing hasn't changed much over the years and they do a good job.

My dog she has never gotten groomed EVER before in her life. The girls were absolutely the best!! She was nervous as heck and they allowed me to stay with her and pet her and such when she was getting clipped and she is so much happier without all the hair she had! She is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd so dog with a lot of hair. They were fantastic with her! I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a dog groomed!

Our dogs are well taken care of by the staff at Raining on a regular basis. Our dog Peanut was a bit difficult and always had to be muzzled when getting her nails did. The staff worked with her and gained her trust and kept her calm, now she doesn’t need to be muzzled and likes getting groomed.

I used to take my dog to another groomer down the street. They were always too busy or they had to schedule out their appointments weeks to a month later. Crazy.Raining Cats & Dogs is not like that. They're pricing is fair and they seem to always have availability that can fit my schedule. Even on the weekends.

I took my Standard Poodle there today for grooming with Toni Ann for the first time. She followed all my instructions and I couldn't be happier with the results! Plus I love that they didn't keep my baby in a kennel! I'm definitely going back!!!

Love this place. The owner and staff are great. Our dog who has since passed away had special needs (severe arthritis and couldn't stand for long periods) and they completely understood and were able to work with him. I highly recommend them!

Excellent staff. You can tell they love animals. They notified me somethings medically was wrong with my dog & to seek a Vet immediately . Sure enough my dog needed surgery. My neighbor as takes her pups there. They discovered a tumor. She took her pup in to the vet promptly to sadly discover the tumor was cancer. This is an example how throughly they pay attention to every aspect of the animals.I feel comfortably taking my pets in and they love going there.

I LOVED this place and my groomer, Patrick, who was the only groomer in Escondido that could handle my problem-child Old English Sheepdog with sharp teeth and a bad attitude.I returned to have my new Aussie Shepherd groomed. Patrick was out and a young woman was there as a sub. Even though I told her NO SHAVE and JUST CLEAN UP THE LONG HAIR SO SHE DOESN'T PEE ON HERSELF, the young groomer returned her to me with a potential coat-damaging #3 shave. And to justify it, she told me other owners have their Aussies cut shorter. Further, she said we'd done it before, and used the OES's information as proof. THAT'S A DIFFERENT DOG, I said.Since the awful cut, so many people have told me how damaging a cut like this can be to an Aussie's coat, and I am distressed because (a) I specifically said don't shave and (b) I do everything I can to protect and love this dog, and now I don't even know if her coat will grow back right, and we are moving somewhere cold.So, it's a 5 star review for Patrick, but careful if you are served by a very young woman. BRING A PICTURE OF WHAT YOU WANT.

New to Escondido and somehow magically found this grooming salon. Have a seriously fluffy senior dog...they took him and finished totally beautified in 3 hours, went to new vet a day later and found that he refers patients there - so am one very satisfied pleased customer for life!

They fit me in even tho the appt the ex made was nonexistent. There were dogs everywhere. Stayed open 3 hrs past close time to get all the doggos done. Price is fair. Thx guys.
