As a contractor when deciding where to stop and get parts it's really important to have a location where not only can we find what we need but also be able to use the restroom. We spend time in people's houses all day and don't have time to make two stops to make a part run. No public restrooms? Fine, home depot will let me use theirs.

Nice big well lit store. I found everything I needed quickly and the prices were as low as anywhere else. And I parked right in front so no five mile hike around the lot.

This is the second time Ace had tried to make it at this location and I really wanted to support them in hopes that would be successful this time around. Unfortunately, because Ace stores are individually owned, they get to make up their own policies. I bought a small item from an Ace while in Palm Desert, which turned out to be hanging on the wrong peg and was not what I needed. The Escondido Ace is a mile from my house. I brought the item in to exchange and was going to purchase other items but was told that "this owner" would not accept returns or exchanges from other Ace stores. That is a ridiculous policy. I can buy a product in any Home Depot or Lowe's and return it to my local store or any other of their stores. Evidently, this owner thinks I should drive 3 hours back to the Ace in Palm Desert to exchange it. This is just bad business and isn't a way to gain customers. Good luck competing with the big box stores with these types of policies. I won't be supporting this Ace going forward.

My family bought a irrigation timer which didn't work so we went back to return it but they wouldn't accept the return because we didn't have the packaging or the physical receipt and they said they couldn't look it up off of the card or my phone number (which most places can). The manager Jose sounded like a human chat bot and just kept saying that it was policy. I was originally happy that this store reopened but I will no longer be supporting them because of this.

Dumbest people in North County must be working there. Website says they have an item in stock but yet they can’t find it and they don’t know when they can order it, they don’t do special orders. No wonder why Home Depot and Lowe’s are putting them out of business with idiots like this there.

Went in there today looking for a gear sprocket , they didn’t have it ( not their fault google is a deceiver -_- )but I had gone to a Home Depot Walmart Lowe’s and a harbor freight before I got there and in all those stores not once did I get the help like I did form the fine people at Ace’s. I didn’t get any names wish I did to give personal shout outs to but y’all really “ The place with the helpful hardware folks” truly astonished I know it’s small but 10 stars.

This store is awesome. I was greeted immediately upon entering, a person helped me right away and stayed with me until I was done shopping. Very friendly staff and the manager was very nice and informative. It's a large store and after walking through the store, realized I won't need to go to the big box stores anymore. Thank you everyone at this Ace.

I love this store. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. This store always has exactly what I need with great prices. Definitely way better than the big box stores.

The store reopened, let's hope the community will support them this time around. Sad that some had to post 1 star review when they had to close. In any case I've always had a good experience at ACE stores, they are like the neighborhood hardware store, usually owned by a local family. I dropped by last week for a couple of things and as I have been used to, there was someone to help me find what I needed and good advice, unlike Lowes or Home Depot. By the way, they also have the cheapest propane exchange.

I was in for some sand paper and a polish bonnet but didn’t find one. But thanks be to Raymond. A floor employee who helped me in there. Followed me outside and called me back in because he found it. He didn’t have too but put the effort on his own and made a sale for your company great job dude you rock!

as of 9/05/2023, i'ved seen no people of color working there. there's no latino spanish speakers nor a single black person. i'ved gone there in the morning, middle of the day and before closing. the proof is in the pudding

I stopped in for mousetraps on my way home from work and was immediately greeted by George. He was really friendly and helpful.If he isn't in management yet, I expect he will be soon. I was very pleasantly surprised. Very clean and organized store and friendly personnel. Awesome experience!

The sales man was very friendly and knowledgeable but the cashier was average and did not smile. Then I back there several times when they was closing the store and a middle age blond straight her cashier was always very rude to me however very nice to others, so make me think its because I have terrible accent and she was mean and racist. I could not take anymore and I even told her that's she is rude. Hope she will never work with public anymore, because she is mean. This happened in Escondido CA. No wonder that store did not make. Because the employees probably.

Store himself is very good and peoples up front is very friendly , but management or supervisor guy I don't know his name he was on back he is not friendly at all. He did not liked my accent. I asked him simple question and he pretended like I am speaking gibberish and made me very uncomfortable. I do leave half mile a way from this store and very convenient for me , but because of this guy not me,not my friends and not even my relatives ever will shop in this store . Sorry ACE you should pay more attention who you hired this days.William

Fatally Flawed - Every visit, the cashier starts the interaction with "Phone number for your Ace rewards?" This is exceptionally rude, as it intentionally makes an assumption the customer has joined their club. Not only are rewards clubs a privacy invasion, they are an attempt to manipulate my behavior, and most importantly (since I'll never join) this slows down the interaction of actually making a purchase and is an entirely unwelcome interruption to my task at hand. If I say "I don't have one" they gleefully waste more of my time trying to get me sign up. If I respond in the same manner as the cashier asked the original question - that is ignoring the goal of the person across from you such as telling them up front you're not interested - they act offended, like a street hustler who believes he has a right to trick you but just got found out!Dear Ace manager... you should know that if I come in again and my time is yet again wasted with anything to do about your club I will file a BBB report on the issue. Need to satisfy Ace corporate morons pushing the program? Put a sign on the register for the stupid club and leave it at that! I'll even provide a respectful sample cashier script... "Hi, did you find everything you needed today?" .... "thanks for coming in, we hope to see you again soon!" ...and leave it at that. I would actually want to return if I were treated like that! This is your opportunity to train your cashiers to respect others - they came to buy something, and that is all. This behavior ruins an otherwise nice store... more games like this = more Amazon!
