Carter's Hay & Grain is the best! My family and I have been customers with Carter's for at least fifteen years.The staff have always been very kind, polite, and professional! The ladies are great at being able to help with product recommendations, and being able to let you know if they can "special order" a product in for you if it isn't on the shelf.They have a great variety of feed for your cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, horses, cattle, etc. They even offer Purina Mazuri products, which includes tortoise chow, mini pig feed, and much more!Their delivery drivers are phenomenal and do a really great job at paying attention to detail when it comes to delivery orders!The whole staff is really great at being able to help as best as they can. Thank you Carter's Hay & Grain for the great service and wide range of products!

They've been here for many years serving the local area. I was here today for a set of shots for my 6 month old puppy. Shots for Pets is here on the first and third Sunday of each month. Very affordable and really great with animals. One of the ladies gave him treats while the other one administered the two shots. He didn't even realize he had gotten shots! ☺

Great place for livestock needs. They seem to cater mostly to horse owners but great supply of things for goats sheep and chickens as well. Can't find a better price on chicken feed per pound around here. 1 bale of staw was under 10 bucks. I will certainly be back.

The staff and animals are very nice when I come around. They have cats, goats, sometimes chicks, and all of the animal feed and treats you could ask for.

Carter's Hay and Grain has been around a long time and had always offered a good selection of product at reasonable prices. Farm supplies--from hay to baby chicks--are available. The workers are always pleasant and helpful.

If you own a horse then this is the place to shop. They are the only store in San Diego County that sells a fantastic hoof supplement called Bionic Hoof. Also Regenaflex a supplement for arthritis, back and joint problems.These products are amazing.Staff is very helpful and we'll informed.

I have been to the Carters in Encinitas many times because they always carry the feed I need for my Mandarin ducks. In all the times I have been there no one was ever rude. I drive from vista and there have been plenty of times when I got stuck in traffic on the way and my mood was not so great and even though I was not the nicest person they were always nice and understanding. I always call before coming to make sure they have what I need but I don't even know why I bother anymore they always have the feed in stock but even so they don't mind putting my order on hold so its ready when I get there. Also it seems they have the best prices for Mazuri feeds which is why they were recommended to me by a friend in the first place.Even if the sales people were rude to me I would still keep coming. It beats having to pay full price by ordering directly from Mazuri and then having to wait for them to ship; and it’s by far the best feed on the market for ornamental waterfowl.

I love Carter's ! Everyone was always cheerful & happy to see me & asked about my horse Cisco. They are knowledgeable & always helpful in answering questions. I always loved going in to get feed for Cisco & enjoyed shopping at Carter's! Thank you Carter's!Cisco is really doing well. He's living in Sierra Vista on the base in the most beautiful facility.
