The place is awesome. Filled with cool and exciting creatures. I’ve gotten my bearded dragon and my red footed tortoise from here. They’re always so cool and friendly (the employees). Very knowledgeable and open to helping you out anyway you ask, any questions I’ve ever had about the reptiles and stuff they’ve answered. Great customer service. They have a lot of stuff for your creatures there too, such as tank decorations and food for everything. Pricing is pretty great too as far as any reptiles you want to purchase. If you’re looking for something, I’m sure they have it, or none the least they can help direct you to what you’re looking for. Must go!

2 years ago I got a male and female crested and they are the nicest geckos I currently own. Today I just bought a baby whites tree frog and he's a little stubborn but so far completely healthy. He just adjusted to his new environment and he's a happy boy. If there's any kind of moss to use I suggest frog moss from this place too. Thanks!

My son wanted a pet so we went here and he looked around and decided on 2 Sulcata Tortoises. Mind you these are a life long commitment. Jasmine who works there answered all our questions. We went back the next day and bought them. She got us all set up with everything we needed. There wasn't a question she couldn't answer. Everything was very reasonable priced. Even though you may think it is a small store and they mark up their items( not animals) the setup was about the same or better priced. I also went back for some more questions and there was a man that helped me he was very knowledgeable of the sulcata tortoises. Thank you all. We love our new addition to the family

Went in today for a bearded dragon. I was so educated by Tyler (one of their employees), while I was there. He is super knowledgeable and made this a simple process. He went over everything step by step and answered all of our questions. I know we'll be back. Thanks.

You can tell they take good care of the animals here. Really friendly staff.Wide arrange of hides, terrariums, UVB lights, and terrarium equipment. If looking for inspiration, their own terrariums are great examples of how you can set up yours at home.Had a good selection of snakes and lizards. There were a couple tortoises and chameleons.

My Husband and I couldn't be happier with our purchase of our new family member. A Red Argentine Tegu and everything to go with him. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient and most of all there was absolutely no doubt they are true reptile lovers themselves. Even shared stories of their own Tegus. If you or anyone you know are considering bringing a reptile into your family this is the place to go. Jason and his morning Saturday crew are the best! We have had our Tegu a couple weeks now with no health or behavioral issues, it's been a joy from the gate!!!! Thank you!

Had gotten my ball python here about 2 weeks ago and I just found out today that she has mites. Found one crawling on her head and found at least 4 more, had to disinfect everything she's been on and it's been a nightmare considering I'm a new owner. I'm really unhappy, called the place and they gave me basic advice but I'm highly doubtful they're going to clean out the other enclosure of the 2 other snakes that were housed with her. Really really upset and disappointed ☹️Edit: It's been a month or two, with a $200 vet bill and medication since getting my ball python because of a festering URI or upper respiratory infection, I would recommend being cautious shopping here, URI's are incredibly good at spreading throughout an entire collection so I don't doubt that most of the reptiles here have it. I've seen multiple of the pythons "stargazing" which is what snakes do when they have excessive fluids that they need to drain but can't. Really makes me upset for the animals, not to mention they sell Spider Ball python morphs there which are known to have intense neurological problems. (Hopefully this is a one time thing but I'm sure it's not since they're listed on their website) A positive of the place is that they have really cheap tanks but that would probably be the only reason I'd come back.

If you're looking for reptiles or amphibians, food for them, or tanks and accessories, you can't beat the Serpentarium. They have everything you need. The staff is always very friendly and super knowledgeable and helpful. They have a genuine love for the animals and it shows. They also have some amazing tank setups if you're looking for ideas. We got our entire tank setup from them and our bearded dragon loves it.

Favorite place to get feeders. I have two ball pythons that I normally get medium to large frozen rats for. I have purchased live in the past and I like that they are able to "gas" them for you, so I don't have to worry about the rats injuring my snakes.I would recommend calling ahead to see what/how many feeders they have in stock, if buying frozen. They can sometimes go fast.I got my first snake at a different location, but I find that every Serpentarium has friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were also able to tell me the sex of each of my snakes, with a small fee for the one I did not purchase from them.

I got my first Leopard gecko Male named Apollo today it cost 240.00 because it was cheap but, it was less expensive and if we build it would be more or cost more to make it .

They are incredibly clean, and have a good selection of tarantulas, which was the sole reason for my visit. The staff seemed quite knowledgeable and very friendly! I highly recommend it if you're looking for a new addition to your home.

Feed for the animals has gone up to ridiculous price's in the last few years. Shouldn't have to be rich to feed our animals. Especially when I have bought so many animals which were hundreds each animal.

One of the best places around to get food for pets like snakes, lizards, turtles and they even have spiders in there! Such a cool place with knowledgeable staff. I go there to get live fuzzy mixes for my California King Snake.

I love this place! I bought my baby sulcata from here 2 yrs ago&they helped me with everything I needed. From equipment to dirt to treats to food&gave check ups as often as I needed.My baby is 20lbs now& humongous.I bought a box turtle for our family friends&Jason was amazing. He went above and beyond to make it happen. The whole crew makes u feel welcomed as soon as u walk in the door. They are very knowledgeable as well. Thanks for a great experience. Definitely would refer them to anybody I know

This review is for the store experience and friendliness of the staff. The store carries a variety of stuffs from snake, python, gecko to all the supplies needed to raise the animals. The staffs are knowledgeable and very friendly when questions are asked and willing to help.

The manager Jason does not listen to what is being said. We had a batch of ball python eggs stored in the incubator. Jason took it upon himself to throw one away without contacting me first. I did not find out till that afternoon what he did till I came into the store. He had no right to do this without my permission. After all, they are MY eggs.

To be honest, I love this place. I’m always here for generally an hour sometimes more. The employees don’t even mind! They talk to me about eat of the animals care and fun facts because I just love the knowledge and am an avid learner. We also converse about personal collections or they answer my concerns or questions about my snake. This place is very professional and have a good energy. They are also very honest if they don’t have any live feeders. And yes it may be frustrating when they are out of stock but sometimes breeders don’t produce or there are other complications at the source, which is totally understandable!

My family and I have been coming to the Elk Grove location Serpentarium for about 5 years maybe longer. Every time I come, the staff makes you feel like family, they are very welcoming, they know just about everyone by first name basis and that's how you know they have excellent customer service. The customer service is beyond exceptional. The team is always willing to go over and beyond for you. The one person I would like to recognize is ELI, he is amazing in every way. He cares about his customers and all the little creatures that come in with them. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He always has the best advice. I've never had a bad experience coming here and I would highly recommend serpentarium to everyone. Thank you team for all your exceptional service.

Amazing employees who not only know basically everything about reptiles in general, but are also so cool and friendly! I love bringing my geckos here for checkups (free!!!) and I love talking with the employees. The store has a great selection of insects, etc and reptile supplies for a very fair price. This store is a MUST for all reptile owners!

For the 1st time in 2 years I got declined to used my credit card by a guy with green hair. No judgment but i'm on a joined credit with name not being on front. We get its for security reasons for fraud, but messed up at the same time for those who have joined accounts....I give 1 star for poor customer service on explanation of the whole situation and also 1 star for no greeting guest. I was being nice asking questions but he gave attitude acting like us customers know the rules..saying "well it's the rules". No excuses guy we deserve explanations...love the place the customer service matters more then the whole entire store itself alone.

I went into purchase feeders and they were charging roughly double and when I asked them about it they said “we are a completely different business”. Yet when you go online the address, name and phone number were the same. Very disappointing :-(

The customer service and selection is excellent. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The reptiles are arachnids are well taken care of. They also have a wide variety of feeders. Additionally, although their name may not suggest it, they even have food and chew toys for dogs.

Excellent customer service and amazing awesome advice!!! I was there on a Wed morning when the first opened. The gentleman helping me went out of his way to get me some good size Dubia there shipment didn't come until later that day. My beaded dragon ate them the min I put them in. I also decided to try the feeding rock. That was the trick. She hadn't eaten since last Oct. I had been giving her a Slurry diet for months.
