I remember Smart & Final was usually focused on business customers many years ago. But they're mixed with regular household and business customers purchasing at their store now.The Smart & Final Extra! in Elk Grove is pretty big in size. It is about the same size as most larger supermarkets such as Safeway, Raley’s, etc.I don't see a lot of wholesale size packing meats or other items in the store anymore. Most of the meats, vegetables, snacks, dairy products and drinks are packaged for retail size.The store looks very new and clean. The checkout counters are fast, and the cashiers are polite. Shopping is enjoyable here.The parking lot is very big with enough parking available even during peak hours. The area is very safe.

I'm an early shopper so I love that Smart and Final opens early so I can get groceries out of the way. This location is always clean, well stocked with the coffee I buy, and the staff are super chill. 10/10 Highly Recommend. :)

I need to buy the cleaner Fantastic. Smart & Final always has it. Quality products under their own First Street brands are also good buys.

Good location in Elk Grove and lots of varieties of fresh meats and produce. Place are clean but seems a bite cluttered with small aisle. Hard for two peoples with carts past by without careful not hit the others. However, it’s convenient in getting large quantities party items without having to go to Costco. Able to pick up all my items!

This is my grocery store due to convenience. But if you buy perishables like meat or veggies, plan to use it right away. It all goes bad so quickly. I bought lamb that smelled and tasted like mutton. Night one. Steak for night 2 that was very close to the line of being off. And chicken I would not risk after smelling it for night 3. Being a Smart and Final, there are things you can get in large amounts but I rarely want that. I do not find the prices very cheap. If you want cheap and quality, go to Grocery Outlet. But like I said, S & F is convenient for me so I am just careful what I buy, what goes straight into the freezer (berries and many meal meat packages), and what I avoid or go to an actual grocery store to buy.

Avoid this store. Bought few of these once and they were covered with fungus. Manager was unwilling to work with me as well. They don’t pay attention to there produce. Manager kept on changing the topic. It was ridiculous!!

Good quality. Somewhat limited selection (except produce-- good selection and quality there).What's surprising to me is that the prices in a couple of areas are just not that great. I can get much better quality pork and chicken at a small family butcher on the other side of town. I can get cheaper produce for less at the farm stand out on Jackson road.Convenient location for me, I must admit. But prices are just okay. Maybe I'm not purchasing their sweet spot-- but not that impressed with pricing.Okay. I've shopped more extensively, and have a more positive impression. There are some truly good deals to be had-- particularly in the frozen seafood department, which actually has a larger selection to choose from. Produce quality, price and selection continue to impress.Shopping here more frequently nowadays. Produce selection and quality recently has been really, really good. Once you learn where everything is, dairy selectpon is good. They only thing lacking is higher end cheeses.Frozen seafood selection, price and quality. May go-to place for shrimp, salmon, mahi mahi or pollack (best fish for chowder).

This smart and final location is well run. Cashiers are nice. Store is clean and organized. Bulk items are cheap. They have the best tasting roasted chickens. Store stocking could be better. Several times there have been bare shelves with the items up overhead. Would give 5 stars if stocking was better.

Nice store for basics, some things can be expensive but many things are a really great deal. Staff are always super nice & helpful. Can get very busy at unpredictable times. House brand (First Street) is really good on quite a few items & very reasonably priced. Beats Costco on quite a few things I buy regularly.

I was attempting to report some carts in our neighborhood (Elk Grove) initially spoke with a Michelle, transferred, disconnected and then disconnected 2 more times,,,,,,,,,,,really?! Sorry, I’m sure it wasn’t her (their) problem!

I wish the aisles were wider. Two people with carts can't easily pass each other. But the staff are friendly, and it's usually well stocked. Their produce section is pretty good too, and prices are reasonable.

Only picked some diet Pepsi's that were on sale! Everything was clean and orderly. The employees were very helpful, and courteous. Overall I really liked the experience and will go back again!

At times the store is out of stock and they don't have a stock room. So you have to look up... yes they sell hot chicken, and produce is hit or miss... front end is getting much better! Looks like they have more employees at night.

Great location for families on a budget. It has everything the higher priced stores have for less.There is a limited selection of personal items including toothpaste and mouthwash.There is a large selection of fresh beef, pork, and chicken as well.An extensive selection of packaged deli meat an cheese.Fresh bakery, dairy products and produce.They also have a huge selection of small business sized paper goods and utensils.The staff is friendly and efficient, they get you through the check stand fairly quickly. The bathrooms and store are always clean.8/11/2018

The staff was loading the shelves and saw me at the aisle looking at an empty shelves of ice cream. He then help me search the back freezer cause they had a busy memorial busy day. He did find it and my kids was super happy... thanks alot staff!!

I live in San Francisco I visited this store and was so dam impressed that I had to write a review.Store vary vary clean found everything that I needed it looks like a real super market not like how most smart and final look like in the past.The associates were very courteous and helpful with great attitude towards there work and customers I would definitely recommend this wonderful store and would always shop there as I visit Elk Grove often

If you know your prices you can get some decent sale items. Our observation is customer service can be sparse.The guy in the meat department acted as though he was doing us a favor when asked about a sales item. Tighten up your customer service folks.

One of the best Smart & Final stores in Northern California! It's centrally located, in the Elk Grove Community. The produce is the absolute freshest! The staff are extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable! Their prices rival both Sams, and Costco! My most favorite S&F ever!!!!!!

This place is going down hill quick. The last three times Ive been there, they have been way under staffed and the lines are ridiculous. Today one of the clerks kept getting on her cell phone between customers. Seriously!! They better squash that quick! Younger Hispanic female with curly blonde hair. This was happening on 06/13 at 6:30pm. Several customers complained.

This is my favorite Smart & Final in Sacramento County because they carry everything I need as far as groceries, paper products and cleaning supplies. Also, I can always find sugar-free foods and other healthy items!

Nice market to shop, a lot of bulk type items. I like a lot of there freezer type foods like the vegetables, party wings (chicken), lasagnas. One issue i do have is with some of there produce seems to go bad really early. Like bananas, potatoes, brocolli. Overall it is a nice clean place to shop.

One of the best grocery in town. The young manager. I’m not sure his name (Jacob)? that dude run around like cheetah. He always doing something. Stocking, counter and helping his casher problems. Everytime u asked him questions always had happy attitude to help and he knows exactly where all the stuff. Awesome job Sir!!

I was at Smart & Final on 8787 Elk Grove blvd, Elk Grow, CA 95624 yesterday morning. (August18, 2020). I stood on the sign "STAY HERE AND WAIT FOR CASHIER'S CALL". The cashier lady kept ordering me to step back to the sign behind this sign and wait for her call. Either she can not read the sign where I stood or she enjoyed ordering customers to follow her rule, ignoring store's rule.Nobody would go to a store with so unfriendly rude cashier !!!
