I came here to purchase a bag of dog food yesterday on a Wednesday evening around 6:15pm. The store looks pretty slow. They have only a few customers in there. I guess I picked the right time.The young gentleman at the cashier counter gave me a nice greeting and another young lady in the store offered to help. I got what I wanted in five minutes. I always have a good shopping experience with this PetSmart in Elk Grove.

They have unique cat toys that I can’t find anywhere else. My cats love them. Also, the service is great.

Clean and kind, helpful staff. I am a bit worried about their betta fish though. The first time I came in was January of 2024. Less than 2 months later I come back and they're either dying or already dead.

The store is clean and neat with helpful employees. It has grooming and a vet, Banfield in the back of the store. It needs to be specified that you want to pick up your pet asap. My pet stayed in her cage 8 hours with no call nor service. If I had not come to check on her, how long would she have been there, without a bathroom break or food?

I have a daughter who manages a pet smart so I'm kinda partial. I love the huge assortment of everything. Everyone is so happy. I love the big fish assortment.I do wish everything wasn't so expensive.Great store

Even though this pet store is closed to my neighborhood, I tried avoid going their to purchase items for my pets. Main reason are the horrible customer service. Lots of staff walking around but non will help. Instead, they will page someone and you end up waiting for a long time before getting any services.

I brought my Bailey in to the Elk Grove,Ca for grooming. The staff was friendly and nice. I showed them a picture of the cut I wanted for her. I told the I wanted body shaved as short as possible. They looked at the picture and checked her coat and stated they could do no problem. But that the hair on the legs weren’t quite as long as in the picture. It was a terrier cut. Very short on the body and legs left longer. I said I realize that it not a issue. They told me it would take 2-3 hours.I was called in 1.5 hours, which surprised me she was so quickly. I could not bend because so I couldn’t really inspect the grooming but when I got back home and was able to check her out I was very unhappy. First of all her body was not shaved to the body, it was at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long and her legs were like groomed by someone who didn’t know what the were doing.I did not have time to address this issue in a timely fashion as I was leaving town. I was/am really disappointed at the grooming service I received at this store. I have used this service at other pets mart locations and never had this kind of service. There is uncut hair on her chest her legs were done all wrong for the cut she was suppose to get. On her nose they trim her up but left long black whiskers sticking out.I have to go spend more money to get her cut fixed now that I’m bad home. I will use this store again when I’m in Elk Grove area. A very disappointed customer! The only reason I gave 2 starts is because was real clean and the staff were nice.The first two pictures are what I shower the groom of the cut I wanted. The other pictures are what I got. ☹️☹️☹️☹️

9/29/2023 I took my dog in for a haircut. Hers is a specialty cut called a lamb cut. It is not easy but if you have good clipper and scissor skills it goes well. My usual groomer left so I booked with someone new. Before leaving my dog I asked if she had ever done a lamb cut with a teddy bear face. She claimed she'd done them before. Fast forward to pickup. My dog looked choppy as heck. Her chin hair was gone, her eyelashes were cut off, only 3 of her 4 feet were cut and her hip area...right side was 4 inches lower than the left side. Her nails were ground so short she limped in pain for 6 days. This groomer obviously had not done this cut before. I debated about complaining and finally submitted an online complaint 2 days ago. The customer service response was very nice and seemed sincere, then the manager called. He was rude and defensive at the onset of the conversation. Basically said the associate had been trained on the lamb cut and done them in the past. I said that can't be true based on the results. He then said he wasn't going to stay on the phone and be called a liar...which I didn't do. He was rude, and I can certainly see why all of the experienced groomers have left over the last few months. I have used the grooming services for several years, sometimes she was done well, sometimes things went poorly but it is hair and it grows back. However, when a manager needs to be "right" and won't listen to the consumer it is no longer a business worthy of my patronage or money.

Hubby got fish...and a 14 gallon tank, and a stand, and accessories. Now, almost a month later, he's upgrading to a 60 gallon tank. I'm just here staring at his giant aquarium wondering what he's going to put in there and thanking about how grateful I am that I don't have to clean it. PetSmart is keeping him busy and me entertained.

Do NOT get your pet groomed here. Staff does not listen to your pet’s specific needs. My pet was there for 6 hours, sent to the vet hospital from getting cut and never got a finished groom.

We brought our beagle in for a bath/ grooming. I'm not sure what Nova did but we haven't seen our beagle more happier in awhile. Already scheduled an appointment for next month along with our 11 month black lab... Thank you ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊

They have a great selection of dog supplies and many more things and overall the store is okay except the grooming my baby came out nice and beautiful but i feel like they didn’t care about the dogs they all looked mad but my groomer was nice except the others.

Came here for fishes. The aquarium section is big with more varieties. But the service to catch fishes was horrible. Unless you don't mind dead fish, not recommended. The lady took around 30 little goldfishes out on the table and handed pick 10 by pushing them around in the fish net without water. It was horrible to watch. Then, catching a pleco by stirring up all its hiding place in a violent way. The fake wood flew across the tank, all the fishes freaked out. After a while, she tried to stop the pleco and ended up hitting him with the fish net. The pleco and some goldfishes died the next day. Petsmart needs to provide better training for staff. The tank setup also made it difficult to catch fish with a big net that she had. The top of the tanks have some pipes that make it impossible to slide the net out. Not recommend this store for pet fishes. So disappointed.

The staff always greets me as I walk in. They are knowledgeable and friendly. I love the holiday displays and I can always find something new. I have a tradition of taking my dog on his birthday so he can pick out a toy himself. He loves wandering the aisles. I’ve never seen this store disheveled or poorly maintained. I would recommend to others
