The best fish supply store around. I get feeder goldfish from Dave every week and 5gal of saltwater for my eel. Very knowledgable about everything it takes to keep your aquarium thriving. And his selection of fresh water fish is beautiful. He sells salt water fish and anenomes too.

I'm six months into the aquarium/freshwater fish/planted tank hobby and Tropical Fish World has been my go-to store in the Bay Area. They have lots of great supplies, food and a great selection of fish and aquatic plants. It can be intimidating starting a new hobby and Dave (and his wife) have been nothing but helpful, kind and educational. He also will let me know when certain products I'm looking for come in. There are always other people in the store chatting with him so he's clearly liked and respected in the community. Excited to have them as a resource for all things fish! Whenever I upgrade to a bigger tank, I'll definitely be going to Tropical Fish World to stock it!

Today was my first but definitely not my last visit to this store! The owner ( I am assuming) was insanely kind and helpful with any questions I had (one in particular about dwarf cichlids) , much different from the short/rude customer service you get over at Albany Aquarium (no wonder they are going out of business). Can’t wait until my rimless 12 gal is cycled I’ll be coming here to stock it. All the fish were happy and healthy!

Went two days in a row to grab supplies, and this little shop is so great! There’s a great selection of items and they help you find what you’re looking for. They’re really nice people and they seem to have lots of experience. The fish selection in the back of the shop was very extensive, and all the tanks look great!I’m really glad I went here, the male owner made me feel a lot better and more secure as a beginner fish keeper, he gave me advice both days and cheered me on. Love this shop!

They have beautiful fish here! And nice tanks too. Pretty much everything you need to build an aquarium. The guy who was working when I stopped by is super nice and helpful. Really different experience from the fish store in Albany, which has rude employees. I can’t wait until I have a bigger home so I can come back and get a white angel fish!!

They have a great selection of tropical fish and all the accoutrement. The staff is super friendly. The dimes I've been in there the staff consists of the owner! He is very nice and knowledgeable and guide you towards the best purchase you can make. I will be back as soon as I kill more fish!

Great selection of salt water and fresh water fish and aquarium accessories.Helpful and friendly staff.Saturday is usually very busy. The owner has a lot of knowledge and helps a lot in choosing the right fish and plants.You can also get a fair amount of freshwater plants here.

Very clean and organized store with some unique fishes. All of the tanks were kept extremely clea . Although, there were not very much plant options, they what I was looking for. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They were understanding when I came back with a fish that wasn't well suited for my current stock. Prices were relatively higher than I've seen, but is a good trade off for knowing that the fish you purchase have been kept well.

The owner, Dave and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful people who run a great store for the aquarium and fish enthusiasts. I've been going there for over a year and its always great. Often has interesting species that change frequently and he has a lot of supplies. Most importantly Dave knows almost everything about fish and has great advice.

32 years in business at this location. This long standing tropical fish store in El Cerrito is a real gem. I've shopped here since I was 15 years old. From small gold fish to pond koi fish this shop has it all to inspire your imagination and passion for aquariums. A really wonderful shop and great owner. Closed Sundays and Mondays
