I am in this store almost weekly because our puppy has had stomach issues with certain foods since we got him in November. The staff has been very helpful on each visit regardless of my many questions. The exchange and return policy is also very speedy and efficient.

Building is very nice, lots of parking. We go for the treats you bag, the prices are cheaper than other places and my pup loves them all. Toys and food are roughly the same price as Petco or Pet Smart. Self wash was easy and the staff were very helpful on showing me how to pay and how it works. $15 for 25 minutes, complete with shampoo and a blow dry! They provide you with an apron so you don't get soaked too, first self wash I've been to that does that, will definitely keep going back!

They helped me pick out everything for a shelter dog. They are more friendly and helpful than any other pet store. They have high quality products. Max loves his new toys. This is a great durable ball that squeaks. Got in from Pinole Pet Food Express. Customer Service is the best and the Manager is Amazing.

First time at this chain. And it was awesome. Super friendly staff, That was knowledgeable. Answered all our questions. Gave us some handy tips on our new puppy. Saturdays they have a vaccine clinic from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Totally recommend to anyone for their pet needs.

Super nice staff. They are ALWAYS attentive and sure to ask you've found what you wanted. Especially during the pandemic when its hard to let just anyone say hello to your pet I have noticed them being very careful not to touch without permission which is appreciated and must take amazing self restraint. Toys are overpriced compared to most retailers but their chew stick and food selection is great. I love the healthier dog options they offer

The team working at Pet Food Express here is always smiling, they seem genuinely happy to be at work. One day when I was there recently they didn't have leashes in stock which seemed weird. They do have a pet wash area in the back that is super clean and easy to use.

I credit my dog, but the staff here is really friendly whenever I stop by. The self-service wash is really convenient although slightly expensive. I definitely prefer this store over Petco. They have better selections for the raw and healthy food I want for my dog.

Very helpful staff with knowledge of a variety of products. Store was well stocked and clean. There was no smell of urine which is an issue at some places. Employees were great with my dog, who I brought with me, and checked me out quickly because they could tell she was ready to go home. Thanks guys, you made our trip pleasant and successful.

We come here mostly for the doggy-self-wash. It is very spacious, even compared to other Pet Food Expresses in the area. The self-wash even preps a few towels and a dog treat or two for those extra fussy dogs (like ours). Another reason we frequent this location is that there are never many people showering at once. Even when there has been a few customers using the showers, they are mindful of the space so dogs are usually happy all round.Staff is very friendly and usually offers additional treats at the check out counter.We buy some pet products here such as Alaskan fish jerky and perhaps a dental chew here and there.Cleanliness, ample space, and great location near Safeway.Be careful on the way out of this business, however, getting to the parking means dodging a few cars here and there!

Great service located in a convenient place next to Bart the multiple bus lines even if you got go from there to San Rafael or Vallejo it's easy to catch a bus. And I haven't mentioned anything about it being the neighbors to the left of a Safeway. AL and excellent quality service a vast plethora selections of anything that is pet related at a fair comparable of cheaper price... since I can only give five 🌟 here goes Six thumbs. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I mostly need to use the dog wash here. My dog is too big for the tubs and I can wash him on the ground. The staff are amazing and I really mean that. In the years I have gone here I've gotten so much help and advice. Plus they are pushy about buying and will still explain options!

The initial greeting by the guy behind the register was a little lack luster, but the man who offered assistance as I browsed the cat section was amazingly helpful; super knowledgeable and gracious. He seemed sincerely interested in my thoughts, concerns and questons. They didn't have the litter I was looking for and they were out of the smaller bag of the product he likes best (uses for his cats), so he offered me a discount on the large bag. It was a generous discount, not just a token. I had looked at the web site of this local chain before my visit to the store, which made my expectations extremely high. You can buy anything in this store and know you are getting the best for your pet, plus you are giving your business to local people who care about all animals, not just those who already have guardians. I left the store feeling great and look forward to going back.

I've only been here twice, and both experiences about two years apart. Both times I Needed assistance.I was met by multiple associates who took the time to ask caring questions regarding my purchase... I also overheard a thorough education obout fleas with another customer.I highly recommend this particular store.... Lots of love in that place... 😁

They always have 3 out of 4 things I need. Lol. I often try for the buy 3 get one free deal and get 25% off instead. It's a good deal either way. The staff are friendly and always ask if I need help finding anything.

I went to the VIP Pet Care with my cat for her shots. Quick process, but it would have been a little better if they had 2 tables: one for cats, one for dogs. Both Pet Express & VIP Pet Care staffs are top drawer: professional, friendly, informative and caring. I appreciate the low-cost vaccines .

I’m a huge fan of Pet Food Express in general, and have never had a bad experience at any location, but El Cerrito became my main location when I moved. The staff is SO friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They always know my dog, remember her name, and pay her extra attention. My dog loves coming into the store and so do I! I plan to be a life long customer!

Very clean store and bathing facility. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and the best products. I'm a dog walker/pet sitter and will drive out my way to bring my clients out for a bath. It's also nice that they provide free treats in the pet salon to help with calming nervous pups

We just got a puppy and went to PFE to get everything we needed to bring home our new pet. James and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with all kinds of advice and considerations for a puppy, from crate training to food, etc. It was the best customer experience I have had in a long time. Thanks to James who was very thoughtful and gave us some samples and a special treat!I just wished we lived closer. It was a pleasure meeting them all.

They sell pet supplies, not pets, so it's a super ethical place to shop. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and eager to help. This is our go-to place for all of our dog's needs. My only complaint is they don't carry anything for companion parrots.

Everyone is so polite and ready to help, besides to have the convenience of bring our pets for vaccinations, nail clippings, and flea control every Saturday at the VIP Clinics, without appointments or a waiting line !!!
