A hotel with great history, well decorated and maintained with convenient location. And can’t beat the price. Definitely a hidden gem, I can think of many ways to host events at this hotel, there are many possibilities. We stayed there for one night, when we arrived there was no staff at the front desk, luckily we weren’t the only family there (it took us 30 mins to find our room) and the other families helped us. We joked about how creepy it would be if we were the only ones staying at the hotel 😆I’d sweat. The downside for us has been no free breakfast as we expected, and we did not see any staff on site during our stay. Luckily we brought enough food with us. They left their kitchen open and we were able to microwave our takeouts and brew fresh coffee in the morning.Important side note: the sunrise/ sunset balcony rooms share the bathroom. It was awkward when we realized we needed to share the bathroom with strangers 😂 additionally because it is an old hotel, so expect no soundproofing. We could definitely hear the sneezes, kids running around, etc. from either next door or downstairs.Overall it was an impressively well maintained hotel with lots of decorations and history. They have an old piano that I still need to try, and the fireplace was on next to where other families left their snow boots. We didn’t get a chance to explore much and rushed back to our room for rest; we packed and headed out after breakfast in the morning. We will definitely come again.

Hopefully this might help someone else- room key is the last 4 of your phone number! We arrived late in evening & another guest kindly helped us as the email doesn’t specify & we didn’t receive a text with this info (like other guest said they did), but, we booked at the last minute so it most definitely could be our fault. All in all, gorgeous, unique, stay!

It’s incredible place we were so fortunate because Ed was closed and we ended up staying here, it’s fantastic ❤️❤️FAM❤️❤️ area. The rooms have so much character. Forget Airbnb, which they canceled on us because they couldn’t get the room clean.Rooms: Super clean with your own bath and shower facility. They’re all have different characteristic. Definitely check out the website super friendly.Nearby activities: Skiing snowmobile there’s tons of stuff to do nearby instead of going to a big town come and hang out near here within 30 minutes you have so many options in any directionSafety: Phenomenally, safe areaWalkability: Grocery store across the street per cute area and lounge with fireplaceFood & drinks: Fantastic the drinks are excellent so many choicesNoteworthy details: You have access to a full kitchen refrigerator all kinds of cooking oven

This hotel is truly a gem! The caretakers were kind, helpful and accommodating. The Steffen Family Room was spacious and comfortable and perfect for our family of 4.The fresh cooked breakfast was delicious and consisted of warm apple pancakes, eggs, sausage, fresh berries, juice, hot chocolate and coffee. There was a small grocery store conveniently located right across the street that had all the essentials. We loved exploring this historic hotel and neighborhood and can't wait to come back in the future.

My husband and I had a lovely experience. Owners were so welcoming. Charming and beautiful- this hotel in the woods is the perfect place to enjoy nature and recharge your batteries. There were many thoughtful touches. Geoffrey was so happy to be able to use their professional kitchen to cook our meals. Overall very good vibes! We’ll be back.

The best part about this place is the staff! Alison and Joe are amazing! We first went there a couple weeks ago. We came back after only 2 weeks. We are ready to go back again. Rates are right on point and it is a lot of fun. Family and pet friendly. Gorgeous rooms and a great environment! The weekend breakfast is the best! Kitchen is open to guest which makes for a great experience! Industrial kitchen with top of the line appliances! We cooked a.large meal with no fuse! We will be back again really soon!

My girlfriend and I stayed there with our pup Friday night. We had a wonderful time. The managers were super friendly and very accommodating. They even asked what we would like for breakfast and if we had any allergies. They made us 2 different kinds of quiche.. Every patio level had a porch swing and we got to play pool on the top floor. There was a lovely grassy yard with little fish and frog ponds. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Such an awesome experience! This hotel is so unique and historical. Every room is like vintage original with all the necessary comforts of today. The owners are amazing people. The most chill "make yourself at home" environment I've ever experience at a Bed & Breakfast. Speaking of breakfast - they make a full, hot home cooked breakfast every morning and let you use their fully stocked kitchen for any other meals want. Our dog was also made to feel at home and had a friend in their sweet older dog as well. Comfortable outdoor spaces and porch swings a plenty. You will never want to leave this place!

The place is nice...check in a breeze. They need to update their site as it says they do breakfast on the weekends and that is not true. They do let you use their kitchen and have some things available for your use. They have a kuerig but no coffee for it...our first room I really liked minus the bugs in the bathroom and bedroom ...I called the # and they offered me a room downstairs ...which I went to look at and someone was already there ...then I was offered 2 other choices in rooms or have someone take care of the critters...I chose a room on the top floor which was nice but ...also had the bugs in the bathroom, and the attic light was on ...shinning through the night. I would probably not stay here again. It is a lovely old property ,they do have a pool table for your use .I just wanted a bed and breakfast experience and this felt more impersonal . Plus chose because of the breakfast and an experience that wasn't there.

I feel like I found a hidden gem. I could see coming back as I really liked the character of the town and the hotel. It's not a polished hotel but if your looking for a place to get out of town, enjoy the outdoors but stay in a room with shower. This is a great place to go. When I explored the area I found several lakes, a pool and tons of off road trails. This could be a great place to explore with a jeep or dirt bikes. The service was great! Allison did a great job and runs the place.

I had a great experience staying at the Dutch Flat hotel! I'm from the area and grew up around the hotel, only seeing the interior when trick-or-treating as a child. Though it's under new ownership long since then, the rustic historical vibe still stands, but with the amenities you would expect of any big city hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and check in was pleasant and efficient. If you plan on spending some time in gold country and are looking for a room for a day or two, I highly recommend this quaint little hotel.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and it’s history (which is preserved not only by the design but also by the stories the staff can tell) made our stay a truly unique experience. Allison (the hotel manager) made quiche, French toast, and bacon in the morning, and we spent every night sitting by the fire, chatting with Allison, Joe, and the other guests. The room and common spaces were kept spotlessly clean. Overall, an amazing stay! We will be back!

It was an experience for the ages. We got stuck on 80 During the 2021 Christmas holiday storm and needed a place to hunker down. My wife looked on line no found the Dutch Flat Hotel had availability. Little did we know what was about to happen! 2 feet of snow and power outages left us stuck in Dutch Flat but the hotel was great. The commercial kitchen, the local grocery, the hotel team (Megan!) and the big lobby fireplace made it a great experience. We will definitely be back!

Love the history and atmosphere in this old hotel. The rooms are beautiful and inviting. You can rent out the entire hotel for events, like weddings and holiday celebrations. This would make an event very memorable!

Counting hundreds of hotel stays, this was the most comfortable bed ever! We arrived early so we got to peek into all the empty rooms - everyone of which seemed to welcome us into amazing beauty! It probably was not the log fire in the evening or the yummy breakfast spread, but it probably was the gentle grace from Allison that gave this place a great peace and charm. I want to go there again and again.

New manager is a hard worker. Cute and she makes sure guests are happy. Great place to stay especially if the stop flying their political views on the windows. Dutch Flat is a beautiful town for all to enjoy.

The interior is beautifully and tastefully decorated with period antiques and many items were donated by locals. With 3 stories there are many rooms to enjoy. The town of Dutch Flat is tiny and very quaint. Very restful with much mining history. Excellent museum 2 doors up.

This place is great! The history of the building is so cool, but most importantly, the managers are very nice and made us feel very welcome! The included breakfast was great and the pool table upstairs was a nice amenity. We will back.

Unique and lovely historical building in the woods. Although in a remote location, there is a small grocery store right across the street stocked up with essentials. Alex is a great host who makes us feel like home. Breakfast is delicious. Fruits and snacks available in the kitchen. They also have board games and books for family. Highly recommend for families.

My husband and myself stayed there while waiting for our new home to be ready. Alex, the hotel manager, was very gracious throughout our stay. He went out of his way to make sure we had all the comforts of home while also enjoying the luxuries of an upscale hotel. I recommend all lovers of history drop in and experience this Sierra gem

I want to start that I did not stay at the hotel. I attended my step-grandfather's birthday there. The family had rented out the entire hotel, including the rooms. The hotel itself is old and what you would expect in a mining town. It's not rundown, just classic. We had full reign including the kitchen. The grounds behind were well kept and shaded. Which was nice because there was no A/C. I'm not sure if it's really needed in the Foothills, but it would have been nice that day. It was a great place to hold a birthday party. I highly recommend visiting there and the surrounding area to get a little history of gold rush California.

Really sweet hotel with tons of vintage coolness. Super high ceilings, awesome fireplace (which was lit at night), cool fixtures, a piano, and a top floor billiards room.Allison and Joseph are excellent hosts who make it relaxed and social. It's BYOB and groceries which gives it a really unique element that adds to the homey vibe.

My time at the Dutch Flat Hotel was perfectly charming and more than I expected. The accommodations were great and the hotel furnishings were brilliantly collected by someone with an eye for detail. The hotels grounds and surrounding areas are prefect for hours of solitude or miles of wilderness walks. My dog Mike loved it too. We both loved falling asleep on the porch swing on the 2nd story balcony. Thank you to the staff for your warm hospitality
