Amazing! We had an incredible experience on our tour. I’ve never been so close to so many wild cats - this is truly a special place where you have the opportunity to really feel the presence of these amazing animals. Our docent was very knowledgeable, friendly, and provided just the right amount of information. The public tour is the perfect length (~60 min) and feels very intimate and special. The gift shop is great with lots of opportunities to support the conservation work being done here. The trail is mostly dirt and can be fairly steep at times. Not stroller-friendly. If you are bringing littles under 4, be prepared to wear or carry them. We will absolutely be returning soon!!

Loved this place. They have hour long tours that run every hour or so; if you have mobility difficulties call ahead and arrange a golf cart. We got one for my father but I probably should have requested for myself as well- I walk with a cane at times and the big up and down hills were a challenge, despite the well maintained hard trails. The cats seemed well cared for, enrichment was obvious, and the tour guide described many different things they do to maintain the health of the animals- physically and mentally. It was entertaining and informative, and the rates were Very fair.

My husband and I stumbled across the project survival cat haven on our way to Yosemite National Park. I saw the signs, and knew we needed to detour lol. We wanted to go on the tour of the sanctuary, but it lasted at least an hour (maybe 1 1/2 hours, can’t remember), and we had very limited time to see Yosemite. The guided tour was under $20 each for adults.Without even entering the actual sanctuary, you are able to view several wild cats, including a tiger. From a not so distant view, they all seemed comfortable, healthy, and happy. They had a great gift shop, which we were happy to shop at in support of the sanctuary. The staff members that we talked to were very informative, and happy to answer any questions and provide info on the feline residents. You could hear and see their passion for what they do.I very much recommend stopping here, and checking out the events and tours that they hold.Side note: everything that I saw and viewed was free. Only the tour portion required tickets. So if you have 30 minutes at least, you can have a great experience for free, and maybe get some great gifts in the process!Date of visit: June 8, 2023

This place turned out to be a delightful surprise! During our trip to Sequoia National Park, we spotted the sign and decided to make a stop. From the moment we entered the door, we were greeted by the most welcoming and friendly staff. The admission fee of $16 per person was well worth it for the fantastic experience. One aspect worth noting is that all the tours are guided, providing valuable insights into the facility and the amazing cats they care for. However, it's essential to be prepared for some physical activity as you'll be walking on rough terrains with both steep uphill and downhill sections. Don't forget to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially during the summer, and consider carrying a mister to keep cool and apply sunscreen. The different cats you get to see and learn about made the adventure truly memorable. I am already looking forward to returning and would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family. It's an experience that shouldn't be missed!

We’ve come here many times over the years and love the experience. The staff is friendly and the tour guides are knowledgeable about the cats. They take their time at each enclosure and make sure that you have opportunity to learn and ask questions. Keep in mind that the trail through the tour is not paved in all areas and goes down and up steep hills throughout. You will want to wear comfortable shoes that have good grip because it’s easy to slip in the dirt in some parts of the trail. Whether you’re a local or traveling through to Kings Canyon Park this is a great place to visit.

This is not your typical style zoo. It's nothing but cats😻 it's a small, short tour but if you love cats, it's a must see! The cats are raised by humans, making them more approachable towards visitors. You can't touch them but they're more likely to come close to the cage to get a better look at you. I got to see a baby mountain lion and I just fell in love. I will definitely visit again.

We went for the full day VIP package as a gift to my financeé. She called it one of the best gifts ever. If you can afford that package, I would highly recommend it. You need to schedule in advance, but the staff was very helpful coordinating and answering all of my questions. If you can't do VIP or don't schedule in advance, it was readily apparent that the daily tours for general admission were also very cool. All of the staff clearly love what they do and the animals. All of the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. All of the staff had a lot of knowledge and enjoyed answering my questions..., even when I was rapid firing random questions during the different experiences.

We went to Cat Haven today and absolutely loved it!! All of the cats seemed very happy and healthy, and the staff was outstanding! Our tour guide (I forget her name, but she had red curly hair, and a nose piercing) was SO polite and knowledgeable. She gave us the exact experience we were hoping for! I will always support a facility that supports cats, especially when they are so good with customers and the health and safety of the animals they are protecting. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The cats look healthy and taken care of. The volunteers gave 100% and we had a really wonderful experience. The cats are a trest to look at, even if we got pissed at and did not see each single one. Decided to support two cats at the protector level, because they are doing good and important work. Looking forward to receive my painting from Eh! Keep up the good work.

I've visited for the first time and I love it they have a variety of felines and well taken care of, they have tours tru the property and they explained to us the different types of felines on the promises and all.the information from each of them!! Now the walking path are all paved exept for a few spots and you got some ups and downs but if my 80 year old mom made it tru with no help I'm pretty sure you can too, we visited on Saturday around noon and the place wasn't crowded at all there's plenty of paved parking for everyone there

Took the wife and kids plus my mother and had a great time! The guided tour was very informative, it was a pretty hot day 100+ day at 3000 ft, but they did a good job having some cooling stations set up, nice work!It was a first time visit for me, I was definitely expecting something less, this place has a very nice gift shop, and the park is set up real well and everything is top notch.

First time visiting the Cat Haven, and it was worth the stop. I should have taken the tour years ago. My sister has been multiple times and raves about it. I loved the Cats that were there and was able to see them all, except the male lion. The Jaguars were my favorite, but not by much. It's not a long tour, but it is steep in some places along the path. If you are visiting the Kings Canyon National Park by way of the 180, it's just off the road and not very expensive. Highly recommend.

Myself and my family came here for a 10th birthday party for a family friend. We were seated near the lion exhibit which the kids loved! My kids were so excited to see the exotic cats/ lions. One even mentioned that she wanted to have her birthday party there next year. The pricing to reserve a location is decently priced. They offer three separate locations ranging from $50.00-$150.00 for booking a party. As well for a small fee you’re able to add on decorations. There was a staff member present the whole time during your party to help with bringing anyone up to the restroom and to make sure your party runs smoothly. Our tour guide made the tour engaging and we all learned new things! All the staff is great about safety and take all of their protocols serious. I recommend anyone off all ages to visit at least once.

Love the work being done here to educate the public and help keep wild cats wild!Tours are guided, very low-key, and information is only given verbally. Be sure to wear your walking shoes! The path is dusty but wide and easy to manage. The staff even provided a golf cart with 2 seats for guests who could benefit from the ride.I do wish they would communicate a little better about "how it works": the tours leave at specific times, duration is approximately 90 minutes, and there didn't seem to be a limit on group size.Overall this was a wonderful, relaxed outing and I appreciate the decades of effort put in to preserve the lives and wild populations of these magnificent animals!

Had a wonderful visit. Very hot and the trail is moderate difficulty. Recommend tennis shoes or at least no heels. Went to celebrate my grandfather's 100th birthday and was very glad that they had a golf cart available for 2 passengers to ride in. Our guide was one of the interns and she was wonderful and knowledgeable. I certainly recommend anyone who is interested in wild cats come visit!

Awesome tour, got a teally sweet and nice tour guide that explained so many cool facts about these cats. Amazing to be able to appreciate them so close and happy to know they are being looked out for. Love their fundraiser ideas like breakfast 🍽 with the cats and sno-kones 🍧 which help with the project. Also love the token your are given with the purchase of every ticket to help other cats around the world 🌎 ❤️ highly recommend this place to learn more about how to better protect our animals 🐈🐈‍⬛️🦁🐆🐾🐅🐯

A very informative place about big cats. I brought my 1 year old daughter and she enjoyed the strolled around this place. It's like walking a trail in a loop. The terrain is for beginners but can be a bit difficult if bringing a stroller. My favorite is the tiger. She or he (I forgot) was gorgeous!

I brought my two kids today for a tour, along with a friend and her two kids. The woman who helped us in the gift shop was very kind and signed us up for the 2:10pm tour. However, our tour guide was incredibly rude to us and our children. My kids (1 and 3) were a bit fussy as he was introducing the tour, and he pointedly asked me if the kids would behave on the tour. Anticipating a hostile interaction, I chose to remove us from the tour and wait in our car instead. My friend took her two kids, and the guide scolded her son for something on the tour. He is autistic and started crying, to which the guide responded that his crying would attract the mountain lions. I was shocked to hear this treatment of a child, let alone one with special needs. I understand the Haven’s rules to be quiet and calm around the cats, but it seems as though this tour is not appropriate for (or this guide is not fit to handle) kids under the age of 5. I’m disappointed and will be reiterating this experience to other parents before they travel here.
