So glad we stopped at Sophie's Cellars. The tasting flight we had was amazing, the owner has really great recommendations. It was a great way to decide which vineyards we might like to visit nearby.

Sophie"s Cellar is a delightful place to visit. Lots of local wines to try, and a lovely proprietress named Alice who has owned the shop for about 6 years. It's a pretty spot to take a break and enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many wineries nearby. You can taste and then purchase wines to go. Alice is extremely knowledgeable about the wines and their producers. A definite must-see place if you find yourself near Duncan Mills (an adorable Russian River town with lots of fun shops).

A little slice of heaven right here! I like to visit once or twice a year when I am traveling and I can always find a few fantastic bottles to buy and bring home. Everything in her shop is so tasteful and I of course want to buy it all! Sitting outside is peaceful and inside is cozy with great conversation. This is a place where you can breathe deeply swirl and sip then head to the dramatic coast.

How AMAZING this place can be!!! That’s just what I expected from the perfect wine tasting place! Rich tasting wines and organic fresh cheese! Very nice and friendly people! Alice, Kristina and Christine are just the nicest ladies who just made our day!

Alice, the owner, is SO kind and helpful. We had a group of 6 of us and had the absolute best afternoon there. Alice hand creates these fantastic cheese boards, recommended the best wines, and is such a fun presence. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon! So sad we dug into the wine and cheese too fast to take a picture, but the other review pictures definitely do it justice.

The owner served us flight of 3 wines each to taste. I had 3 very good reds and really loved the Bordeaux blend the best. It was intense with bold structure and silky finish. Cute tasting room with colorful flower garden outside with heated patio to enjoy wine with variable weather. Enjoyed receiving local information. Dustin Mills shops and restaurants are here, adorable.

Great wine shop! Friendly owner, personalized service, relaxed vibe, curated wines. We happened upon a winetasting event on the patio...loved the Colagrossi Ribolla Gialla and Sangiovese and brought some home. (Don't miss the cute bookstore, tea shop, art gallery, trendy Acorn shop...Duncans Mills is more than I thought!)

This place is amazing. This is my third visit! I can get a glass (or bottle) of boutique Sonoma wines all in one place. The owner Alice is so knowledgeable welcoming. Apparently she personally selects each wine. Based on Alice's recommendations, I tried a zinfandel and pinot noir on my visit this week. You feel like a friend when you're there. The outdoor patio overlooks a beautiful pasture. And Alice created a custom cheese plate to complement the specific wines I was sipping. It was so relaxing. Highly recommend.

The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, great service. Wine flight was delicious, as was the bottle we got, and the cheese&cracker recommendation was spot-on. Really nice town with nice people.The outdoor seating area is cozy and lovely too. Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through!

John is super knowledgeable and will always take great care of you. I love that this place is 21 and over. No kids!! Friday is locals night. The little shop can get quite crowded but it's great fun, just leave the baby at home, rules are rules.

The owner/attendant here was rude to my fiancé and I. We walked in and instead of saying “excuse me”or “please” he just waved at us and said “can you stay where you are” in a negative tone. We were standing still 8-10 feet away of him and the 2 other customers in the store. Why deal with this negative energy and overpriced wine when you can walk 20 feet to the General Store and get fair prices and friendly staff?

The lady who serves us was very kind and friendly, and the amount she poured was very generous! We are very happy with the wines we purchased. We would definitely go back again if we are in the area.

Great place to go to buy wine. Unfortunately no tasting at this time during Covid 19. John was very forthcoming with his knowledge of wines. A small place, but a fun place in the small community of Duncan Mills.
