I went in looking for a new cage for my dog. I was helped by two employees Isabella and cashier Esau. Esau realized I had been given the wrong color crate and helped me out with the one I actually wanted. He was very helpful and patient, he also helped me to my car. I had my two kids with me so that helped tremendously! I’ll definitely be making this my go to store moving forward. Thank you for the great customer service Esau.

Really nice people, this store has a much wider selection of cat food than the one near me. Visiting here makes me wonder why I don't own lizards anymore. Very fun creatures to take care of.

Friendly staff and great customer service. I asked if they could check if they had more cat food in the back, and they did. When we go to others' petco, in Bell, they are rude and not friendly. this was our first time coming to Downey. We will be coming back here. The girl that helped us out, I think her name was Vivian. I went in wanting to check out their variety of dry cat food. What I found was multiple aisles of dog food vs a small section of cat food. Very disappointing.I found a better selection across the street at Ralph's.

Save yourself the trouble and either drive to the Cerritos one or go somewhere else. The disparity in how many people are there to help you is crazy. Takes at least 15 min to get through the line with only one person on the register. The vet clinic is also a mess. I know it’s mobile, but dang, it takes forever and my dog is already excited/upset to be here. Wish they would just make appointments farther apart if they can’t hurry.

This location always has what I need. Good prices and friendly staff. Today, Christina was friendly and helpful. Update: I have been back two times. Vivian was the cashier both times. She is always friendly and helpful.

Leo has his puppy training here and he loves getting to bond with his classmates. It doesn't hurt that he gets to get treats after we wrap up class and browse the great product selection.

So, I took my dog to get a bath. I paid extra for the essential service because my dog has skin issues. Apparently they don’t express your dogs anal glands unless you specifically tell them to, and that was one of the primary motivations for us taking her to a groomer. I assumed because it was listed as a part of the base service, which I paid for, that it would happen without me having to specifically ask for it. Anywho, we called the store back two hours later when my dogs glands started leaking everywhere and she was visibly uncomfortable. They told us we had to specifically ask them to do it and if we need it done we can go to a vets office. Do better.

We(my Husband & I were walkins w/a groomer for our puppy ADORABLE n Lynwood). After waiting 30 mins. He tells us he doesn't hv the clippers to trim our Adorable how we wanted her🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ My husband called PETCO & was able to make an same day appt! Thanks Blair & All the Super Nice staff! Please do not take your dogs to get groomed here. My dog got severely cut around his ear and had to be rushed to the vet. These groomers are not held to any standards and lack empathy. My dog is still recovering and still finds himself and myself in extreme distress. If I could give 0 stars I would. They don’t deserve to be in service.

Lack of cashiers and the bathroom condition was sickening. Jonathan was working as cashier on both registers at the same time. He was doing the best he could considering one of the customers asked about 10-15 questions. He called over the inter come for help and no one came so he called again and finally a female employee walked up slowly and complained to him that he had cut her break short 4 minutes not what a customer wants to hear while waiting and the line kept growing. I used the bathroom and it was filthy. There was used toilet paper on the side of the toilet...need I saw more. It was a mess. I hope the manager see's this review and makes some changes. I would rather drive a few miles further and go to Petsmart.

Went in today to purchase a guinea pig, when I walked into the store manager MARI was very rude, lied about protocol, told me that I had to show her a picture of my guinea pig cage put together and set up, I walked away called petco in south gate they informed me that this isn't protocol for purchasing a guinea pig, she then told me that they were short staff and to come back the following day, I wasn't!...stated she had to make a call... a gentleman then can out and assisted me...this is the only reason why they got 2 stars and not 1...he was great, patient and couldn't believe MARI told me what she told me about having the cage put together and set up before purchasing the guinea pig, MARI needs to be fired (I don't care if she is a manager) I should of got headquarters phone number and called above her to complain because MARI was ridiculous, rude, lied and very hard to deal with

We went in for puppy products, collar, and leash, and so on, they didn't have very many puppy products. we went up the street to a dollar tree and found a bigger variety. What was funny was a family that was at Petco, walked in a little bit after us, and also found a bunch of items.
