I drove from Davis, and bought a 50 pound bag of pigeon pellets. When I got home, I discovered that the entire bag was moldy, wet, full of bugs and mold, and smelled strongly of ammonia. I called them, and asked for a refund. They said I had to transport the stinking bag of feed, back to their store, for a refund. When I returned with the rotten feed, my car began to stink from the feed bag. They refunded my money, but didn't seem concerned that they are selling rotten feed, or that I had to spend 40 minutes, driving back out there, to remedy their problem. I will not be back.

When you are from Alabama, you don't think of California as being friendly and country.. However, we learned today that Southern hospitality does exists in CA. Specifically, at Higbys Country Store. Wow!!! Thanks to the "Boss" lady for blessing this Alabama Family.

Higby"s is an amazing Country Feed Store loaded with just about everything you could need for your pets or ranch animals. Everyone at Higby's us super helpful and knowledgeable. This is my go to place for my llamas pellets, Alfalfa or Meadow grass. I also purchase for my cats, dogs, donkeys or pig while I'm at Higby's.

I come here for the bully sticks for my dog as they tend to get thicker batches than PetSmart or Petco. Although that’s about the only thing I get, I love seeing the workers interact with the regulars that come there for feed and hay. Excellent customer service.

Really an all around great place to stop for your farm supplies/feed needs. Although a little out of the way (depending on where you're coming from) it's ABSOLUTELY a great place to get the best value. Hay prices are generally the cheapest around, and I have to applaud their customer service. Staff have always helped me as quickly as they could and I've never waited longer than a minute or two. Very clean, and a great selection of halters and other accessories. Be sure to check it out and see for yourself!

I love this place! I usually go to get my Australian Shepherd her food and a toy or two. Great prices but even better customer service. EVERYONE is insanely friendly and helpful. Plus they're a part of the Taste of The Wild frequent buyer program, so I get a free bag of food after hitting a number (the exact number escapes me at the moment, sorry!). I HIGHLY recommend this family owned local store!

This place had everything I needed for my variety of animals. Dog chicken's and goats. Prices were great and staff was friendly. The hay barn is very convenient. You just back up to it and they they load it up for you. I'll definitely be coming back.

Love this place. We've been shopping here for 17 years.Usually find more than I need. This time we have a young rabbit that doesn't want to eat much hay which should be 80% of his diet. Higbys let me pick up some of the loose grass hay so I can see what he will eat.Amazing people here.

This is a family-owned store with just outstanding service. they are always very well-stocked with the things that you really need for the ranch and pets the prices are comprable . There is always a friendly person to help you right away. If they do not have something that you want they will get it for you if they can. As you can tell, I really like this place. Highly recommended!

How great to have a feed store that's actually about the local farms and 4H/ FFA kids. Kindest, Knowledgeable staff always ready with a suggestion or an answer. They always have what we need but if they don't (and they do) they're happy to order it.Thank you for ACTUALLY supporting our future and not just claiming to be a youth supporter like the chain stores.

I have been shopping at Higbys since moving to CA 12 years ago. It is by far the best place to shop for all my equine needs. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and they know their customers. It's all about customer service and they deserve a 5 star rating!

As soon as I arrived I was greated and offered assistance. Right away staff was able to locate the Ivermectin I needed. I then started looking at specific dog food and the manager who was working on a project stopped what he was doing and offered his advice based on the questions I asked.

The best service and knowledge for everyone, from expert rancher to hobby farmer! The staff is ALWAYS courteous, friendly and available to help, answer questions or look for the best answer. I love shopping there, although I no longer have the alpaca farm, I still provide the feed for my animals in boarding. I would not buy anything anywhere else! Great support and service. :-)
