Stayed here for a couples anniversary trips. A quick getaway. Our weekend started out rainy which was a bummer. The tiny cottage was clean and simple. And so darn cute. The bed was so comfortable, I had the BEST nights sleep. Close to the beach. General store has anything you might need but it will cost you. Coastal kitchen was OK food. Tomales wasn't too far but once you are at th resort you have to talk yourself up to leave.AT&T phone service is non existent. But the wifi is excellent.Overall it was a great experience and we will stay again.Ref: we stayed in cypress cottage. Be prepared to duck, crawl and make yourself small to get to the loft room.Rooms: Clean and cute. Comes with everything you may needWalkability: Close to the beach

I brought my mom here for a day trip. She really likes it here. The beach is beautiful. There are a lot of Boulder rocks that make the scenery beautiful. If you get there before 8 or 9 am..parking is free..then it's 10 or 12.00 after that. There is plenty of parking...and it is dog friendly. You can have your dogs off the leash here and will find many digs running and playing. There are sand dunes...so if you have trouble walking..its a little difficult to get to the beach area. There are bathrooms with changing rooms which is nice. The beach area is pretty large. There are picnic tables to sit at.The water is so beautiful...this really is a nice beach to visit if you are in the area...if for a day or only to have lunch. It's a little off the beaten path..but very much worth the drive.I for sure recommend this beach.

I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of LA, so my birthday was the perfect excuse to rent a tiny house. I absolutely loved it. I stayed in Cypress Cottage 2. It was so cozy. Just the right amount space for a solo traveler. I brought a few items of food for a charcuterie board from Cost Plus World Market, and some additional items from the general store. My first night I had dinner at the Coastal Kitchen. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing!I met some really nice people including the staff of the resort. It started off cloudly, but I brought the sunshine. Overall I had a great birthday! My stay was the perfect place to hit the reset button. I definitely will be back!

We enjoyed the whole experience at Dillon Beach; it is so much easier to get to than Stinson Beach. My wife and I love this beautiful awe inspiring peace of heaven on earth! Grounding in the sand, walking along the shore, in the ocean with the water up to our mid-thigh or a little lower. Watching the magnificent sunsets!

Dillon beach was spectacular. I take my dog there every couple of weeks when there is a good low tide. The tide goes way out like an English beach, the sand is firm and great for walking, dogs are off leash and have a wonderful time romping. OK, you do have to pay $10 to park but for me it is definitely worth it. The beach is long; it takes about an hour to walk from the parking lot to the southern tip and back; this stretches into Tomales Bay. I feel a real sense of gratitude that this resource is available to us.

One of the best dog beaches in CA. It is HUGE and the dogs have so much fun running around like crazy. There's plenty of room so the dogs can easily keep their distance from each other if they want to. It can get wicked windy here though so be prepared for that. It doesn't seem to bother the dogs in the slightest though.

Parking $15 on weekends. Got there at 9am with no problem finding parking. By 10am, it was crowded. By 11am, it was jampacked.Restroom is very small & dilapidated. for the parking fee they’re charging and the number of cars that come in, they should be able to upgrade the restrooms.Dog-friendly beach. Most people love the dogs. We were unfortunate to have met a cranky old person who told us not to let our leashed dog near 3-5 feet from their tent because god-forbid my dog will pee on his children’s play area. Good luck with the other unleashed dogs!

Meh. Parking was $15, there were wayyy too many dogs (two barking ones woke me up), crowded, weird bugs crawling on the sand and not as nice as other beaches close by. The guy at the parking booth was nice. They take Apple Pay. Other than that I didn’t find much beauty in this beach. Won’t be back.

Easily accessible for all. Pay for parking and you get a spot right at the beach. No stairs to the beach so handicap friendly. I always love watching the dogs play. It's been clean the few times I've been there, they have trash grabbers for the public and you get an ice cream if you fill a bucket.

Good luck parking. The beach is OK if you can deal with the long drive and expensive parking. It's amazing for certain activities like wind surfing 🌬 🏄 but who does that really? It's a great spot to fly a kite but are you really going to drive and hour and a half or more to fly a kite? It's the kind of place you have to have a special emotional attachment to in order to make it worth the trek. Some people recall camping in the dunes in the old days, but it's forbidden now. The beach is always in tip top shape and you can even find jellyfish along the shore quite often. Sometimes I even pick them up and throw them back into the waves because I feel bad for them even though they technically don't feel anything I guess. There is no life guard, and the surf looks quite rough sometimes. It's great for the surfers of course and you'll see them here literally every day often in mid size groups. It's rare to see a wind surfer but you will find them here consistently and many of them on days with the right conditions. Honestly you could find better beaches in California even very near to this beach. It's just one of those hidden gems that a few people know about. It's not like Carlsbad or Stinson any of the other famous beaches. Just a low key, local spot that is good for a beach day 🏖 ☀

YAY for tiny houses! Such a great update while still keeping the feel of Dillon Beach. I grew up coming here in the 80's, and it has maintained that get-away-from-it-all feel. The update on the general store is great, too...we were surprised at the variety and quality of groceries. Super friendly staff. Yummy pasties. And a beach where dogs may run free! We loved it, and will be back, soon.

Best beach for Dogs! They have so much fun running, digging, & playing with other dogs! Our entire family has a great time. There is a lot of space to set up chairs & there are some picnic tables & fire pits too!

This Beach was beautiful! I absolutely enjoyed seeing dogs running and having fun! Kids and grown ups, playing in the water, walking the beach, just enjoying the day. Apparently you can camp there as well. Parking was $10 which is not bad at all! They're getting these tiny houses ready to rent for temp vacation homes. The town is small and very cute! Will be back and can't wait!

Parking lot gets VERY full and finding parking can be an issue. You do have to pay to park at "their" beach. Also want to get there early as it can fill up on weekends. The general store has been updated and is very cute. Lots of things you need and "don't need" :-). Cute spot.

What a spectacular and relaxing getaway. The cottage was quaint, but just perfect for 2 people. The large picture window allowed us to watch the waves from the comfort of the couch and when we wanted to venture out, the beach was only a short throw from the cottage. We'll certainly be back!

$10 parking Beautiful views. Lots of dogs, some behaved and others not. Great for a long stroll, there was some wind surfers here that day. Seemed kind of rough to be swimming in, but decent enough for casual wade. Worth coming just for the great views and warm beach.

I’ve always been curious about tiny houses and loved watching about it on YouTube. So when we found this resort I was so ecstatic that we booked right away. i had a wonderful experience about my curiosity. The tiny home was perfect, super clean and brought fun experience during our stay. They are a dog friendly hotel too and the restaurant serves the best clam chowder and delicious food.

Love this place. It is dog friendly too. Other beaches mandate the leash law. Dillon's allows your dog to have freedom. ( Just be responsible for your animals) The beach is clean the sand is soft. Pack a lunch and have a great day. People also BBQ there.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. Short walk to the beach from the cottages, the General Store is not a supermarket but has more than expected - Moe than just essentials. Dig friendly which is a huge us. The only downside was the restaurant. A few things to note:. 1) you can't call in an order. You have to walk down, place it and wait. If they are really busy or cold/raining out, it's miserable. 2) Food is okay. No parmesan on the Cesar salad. Too much batter on fish so it was undercooked next to fish. The calm chowder is more like a fish chowder as it had a lot of fish and almost no calms, like they were trying to make it cheap and fool the water. 3) Cottages we're nice but lift bed area too small and stairs up to it are far too steep. I gave4 stars, almost gave 3 for the food but everything else was really nice.O

I love this beach!!! I have 2 dogs that love to run & love playing in the water. Being able to have them off-leash is priceless, so the $10 parking fee us so worth it. And when it's very hot inland you can know you'll find cooler weather.

Busy but still plenty of room to social distance. We opted for a more secluded spot so we sat a little further back. It was purrfect! Parking is $20 on weekends. The traffic to get into the beach took us an hour from the time it slowed. The sunset is well worth it!

We stayed in the coastal cottage, the views were great and we were fortunate it was really nice weather while we were there. Really my only complaint is on the cleanliness of the kitchen. The oven had drips on the window that had not been cleaned off from a previous stay and when we tried to use the oven it set off the smoke detector just from preheating. And on top of that it also set off the carbon monoxide alarm too which was a little scary.

Nice day at the beach. Its a private beach so expect to pay for the parking $$. The beach staff was courteous and respectful and the checker from Clear Lake at the mart was was over the top nice :) The new addition of mini homes and the revamp of the property shows the owners really have heart. Thank you I've been coming here since I have been in diapers.

Came here for a weekend away with the family and kids. Great beach town, breathtaking views, friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. The beach was amazing and very well run - parking was organized, beach was clean, and we had an unforgettable time. Recommend looking for tide pools with the kids, there is also a lot of "land" wildlife roaming around town like deer, jackrabbits, etc. Definitely coming here again and would recommend.

Great beach. Sand dunes are awesome to let kids run around and play in. There is lots of area for dogs to run. Beach goes on for miles. Pretty much one of the safest places to go in the water. You don't have to worry about getting sucked out to sea. There is bar b que pits to enjoy a nice flame cooked meal. All around great place

Love that's it's dog friendly! That was the #1 reason we chose Dillon over other beaches along Hwy 1. There was plenty of parking which was $10 for the day, I consider that pretty reasonable. There was a good mix of people and dogs. The most important thing to me is that fellow dog owners are responsible and their dogs non aggressive, which was the case on this particular day. The beach itself was pretty clean, it's a little rocky and there are debris washed in from the ocean but it wasn't at all littered with trash, just seaweed, sticks, and rocks. I'll definitely visit again.

My dogs & I had a lot of fun. Fairly long beach with some good width. Pretty drifting fog high enough to not obstruct my view of the ocean and nearby hills. Clean beach with a few park tables/benches. Nearby general store and restaurants for food. Parking lot was mid-sized, and cost $10 for the day.

Place has gone downhill since covid. The beach itself is beautiful but expect to pay a 10.00 fee during the week and 15.00 on the weekends to park. The young men that work there are mostly kind, however today I encountered one that was rude and it ruined my experience, knowing I gave HIM my 10.00 for two hours at the beach. Waste of money. Also, the cute little shop before entering the beach is run by rude folks as well. Every time I go there, they act like they're doing ME a favor. I don't recommend this place to anyone until you know where the money is going, because the negative energy surrounding it, simply isn't worth the drive. Maybe it's just not family oriented. I would recommend Muir beach. Much more pleasant atmosphere. Too bad, Dillion's is gorgeous, but I won't be back
