Totally underrated.My in laws shy away from this place because they think nugget is the only place to get fresh food.I honestly have loved shopping here during the pandemic, I find the food fresh and the variety or keto, vegan and vegetarian options excellent.But more over it’s generally a quiet peaceful shopping experience.They also do have beautiful house plants on occasion!What I wanted to give them the biggest props for was the fact they’re the only supermarket I’ve seen in davis that is still cleaning the self service check outs in between guests. I was pleasantly surprised when a staff member jumped in to clean before I walked up. As far as Covid safe shopping this has become my favorite spot. The staff are always masked and I don’t believe I’ve seen any masks on chins here! - perhaps I’ve been lucky but it’s my honest experience (:

The freezer aisle reeks a fishy smell where they don't even sell fish. It's a really old supermarket to be honest but they have a lot of good items for fair prices. Sometimes they have items here that Safeway doesn't have so that gives this place an edge. The employees here are super nice and friendly compared to the North Safeway down the block though so it's always a good feeling talking to the cashiers. There's less people here so there's not as many long lines.

Very clean store. Everything is nicely organized. Prices are, ok. Some stuff is more expensive then other places , but some is less. just like any store. employees are friendly.

Supermarkets should not be allowed to include "save" or similar words when they sell products at the exact same, or sometimes higher price than at comparable stores. Discounts are provided, but you have to search every coupon for individual items on their mobile app, which is inconvenient and time-consuming. Additionally, we bought some halloween candy towards the very end of September, and it was stale. The gummy bears smelled and tasted a bit like chocolate, as if they had been marinating for a while in the bag alongside the chocolate. The chocolates were also stale. Considering it's halloween season, there's no reason that the candy should be stale. Not to mention it was 13 dollars for a small bag. Very disappointed and will not be coming back.

I went to shop this morning to buy some yam requiring digit coupon. There were no staff would help to show me how to use the cell phone to get the digit coupon. With other's help, only took me less than 10 seconds to get it. Very disappoint of their service.

This is a pretty good market. Fairly priced and the people that work here are friendly. There isn't a whole lot of selection but for the basic necessities, it's a good market to come to. The salad/deli area is good as well.

I only shop here for the convenience (and the occasional good deal), but if you have a low tolerance for poor customer service, then may I suggest one of the other ten grocery stores in the area. Do you like unfriendly cashiers? This store has at least 3. Do you like completely oblivious managers with the personality of overcooked pasta? This store has you covered.On the plus side, you don't have to have a conversation with the self-checkout!

This Savemart has some of the worst people working self-checkout. More specifically the older lady Ann with long white hair. She alway has a poor attitude, rolls her eyes, and talks to you like you are incompetent. We have also run into issues where she will walk up to you and say “why didn’t you select that you took bags” when we wouldn’t even take or need bags. She then continues to stare you down while standing a foot away from you as if you are about to commit grand theft on the bags. It is really odd and makes us uncomfortable. Many times in the past she has neglected to help us with our register and is alway walking away and not doing her job. One time we went she was talking with her friend on the phone while 3 different people needed her to approve something on the register and you could tell others were getting frustrated as the lines got backed up. I would like to think that this is just a one time thing but it happens every time we come and she is working. You shouldn’t have a worker be placed in a job where she has to interact with customers if she is going to have a poor attitude and not do her job. Management needs to do some rearranging of their staff and make this place more welcoming.Also, if you shop here make sure to check the dates on everything. A lot of their food goes unchecked and is expired. Especially the deli trays which often have mold or gray meats.If I were you I’d drive a half mile down the street to Safeway where you will get much better service and fresher food. Plus their prices are often lower.

They are currently in the middle of a remodel which does not bother me, but it's worth mentioning. They have self check out options and most of the staff are warm and friendly. The produce section is reliable and well stocked which I like knowing and they often have steam packets in the meat section with chicken/vegetable or a seafood (shrimp) and vegetable for a fresh and easy meal. Pop it in the microwave and voila!Update 1/7/21 - they now have new carts. Some of which are the shorter double decker carts. I realize it is one of those 'little' things completely to all that is going on the world, but having a user friendly quiet cart does make the shopping experience more pleasant.

Excellent selection of everything I’ve ever browsed for. I shop here every week. The Select brand (Save Mart’s own) is always the cheapest of all the food items and still very good quality. Nice big fresh produce section. Decent cheese selection.One of the few places that stocks Lactaid eggnog (the most delicious eggnog of them all and I’m not lactose intolerant).Very small liqueur and beer and wine selection, but a good variety.

I have never been to ANY Retail store where the people were so friendly! The management must be so great to their employees! Every single person within 20 feet of me said hi and asked if I needed any help! Especially the guy in bakery, Joey! Over and above! Thank you for being so nice to me!

Worst possible service you could ever get at any grocery store. My girlfriend and I come here usually all the time to get groceries, but lately we have been faced with a couple of employees who have acted very mean and condescending to the both of us. Earlier today we went in to get our groceries for the day, when we reached the self checkout we started scanning out items per usual. We were then approached by an older lady with white hair who sits by the self checkout, she then forcefully grabbed items out of my girlfriend’s hand, basically accusing her of stealing and this is not the first time this has happened with this location. She was extremely rude and it makes me wonder how upset you have to be with your life just to go out of your way to be a miserable piece of baggage. I don’t recommend anybody shopping here unless you want to be harassed by it’s employees. Thanks for nothing

This place has abhorrent service and it's very very slow. Decent grocery selection. Prices are higher than Safeway even. Sometimes they have some good deals and good coupons. Basically I would only recommend coming here if you have a coupon or know a specific item is on sale. Even then don't come here...

Shopping here with a friend who needs help with shopping. Plenty of parking. Is accessible disabled persons and has designated disabled parking. Signage for grocery aisles was very clear and helped us find things easily. Checkout clerk was pleasant and helpful as we had gift cards to use.

I've been into this location several times, mostly for the fried chicken at the deli department. I usually get great customer service and have a good feeling leaving. Today I was disappointed. I normally get the 8 piece fried chicken with as side of rolls/ bread and another hot or cold side dish. They were out of 2 (rolls and cornbread) of the 4 bread options, which was sad... And who wants tortillas with their fried chicken? So it was really just the French roll option. For sides she told me to look in the crushers for cases. I asked her what about the mashed potatoes or mac and cheese, they're usually hot. She pointed me to the prepackaged microwavable options. I don't have a microwave and the reason I was getting the meal from Save Mart was to not use my oven. So, my other options were potatoes salad or macaroni salad. That's ok, but not what I wanted. I was quite disappointed my favorite hot to go meal from a grocery stores turned into only fried chicken and other sides I didn't really want. But the chicken is still great!

Nice clean store. The staff is polite and helpful, even when there are highschoolers there (DHS couple of blocks away). Save Mart always has good deals on, just have to look for them. The other nice thing is they have late hours, and delicious bakery items too.

Ya gotta love Save Mart, they have the best of everything... Lower prices than most. Higher quality products like meat, produce, etc and the staff is always ready to help. Whether it's to give you an on the spot price adjustment or just show you where the restroom is... No service like Save Mart.

Pros: Has what you need, even a small variety of ethnic foods. The staff are always friendly.Cons: The produce section could have more organic veggies to choose from. And the prices are pretty high. Some items more expensive then safeway.

Good quick place to grab snacks and other small things. It was One of the first places to have tap to pay at self check out. Their selection can be limited. But I would never get their pre-made wraps again, no flavor and super dry. I love their potato wedges tho and wings aren't bad either.

This is a nice grocery store. It's mostly clean. They have almost everything you need especially for a regular grocery store. Their deli and bakery do a nice job when you order something. They even have small glasses of water available for the customers when they come in if they're thirsty.

Their beer selection is pretty good. The store is pretty clean and the employees are pretty nice. There is a pretty big section for produce and it is usually really fresh looking and stocked unlike other super markets in davis.

Love coming here for cheap groceries. Their prices are better than Safeway on certain goods. I really enjoy the self check out line, some days I don't want to interact with people.

Great Customer service! I love that they clean the baskets and carts all the time!! The store is always clean. I love seeing the same friendly employees, when I shop. Never is there long lines.
