We arrived at Lone Pine to discover that our three nights in the campground were cancelled: campground closed! No great alternatives so we called Panamint and reserved for two nights. Great choice. Site under a shade tree. This was a great place to use to spend time in Death Valley. Nice bathrooms and hot water showers. Fine views also. Are in the restaurant for dinner. Great food, friendly folks and good service!

Camped here. This campground was nicer than many of the other campgrounds in Death Valley. It was however a long drive to do day trips to many of the more popular sites within Death Valley. They do have a nice restaurant with good service, gas station, and general store. If someone were to ask me, "would I stay there again?"... Absolutely, yes. Also, there were gorgeous wildflowers nearby in the Panamint Valley, about 5 minute drive from the campground during my stay.

We stayed in a tent which was okay, the cots were really uncomfortable and the concrete right outside the door was a trip hazard. The restrooms were kept clean and stocked with paper and soap, but not a lot of privacy for showers. The restaurant was good and fair priced and the view was beautiful.Nearby activities: Death Valley National ParkFood & drinks: The restaurant is walkable.

Bless their souls, they think this is glamping. For $73 the "glamping" tents are definitely not worth it. For the same price you can get a motel 6, it's way more luxurious, the showers have taps at a motel 6, instead of whatever bits a price they had lying around to put together a bathroom. For $40 or less I would say it would be worth it. All the staff are super lovely though. The diner there is nice also.

10 out of 5 Stars!! Stayed 3/4/2024-3/8/2024. This place was fantastic!! Friendly customer service. Quiet. Restaurant was good. Camp store staff friendly. Gas/Diesel cheaper than at visitor center. Up and out before dawn and back after sunset most days. No light pollution making the night sky spectacular. Panamint Springs is at higher elevation so cooler temps. If camping, highly recommend this place. Campground at visitor center is a parking lot with people right on top of each other. Campground at Stovepipe Wells is ok but be ware of strong winds next to the sand dunes. Strong winds blow the sand everywhere. Out of all the options, I recommend Panamint Springs. Yes it is a little bit of a drive to things but pack a lunch. Stay out all day and enjoy. Come back to a cooler, friendly quiet Campground. Special thanks to Richie and Pete in the camp store. You guys are awesome!!

Staying here with my family was a pleasant experience. We rented a small tent equipped with two beds, which was perfect for two adults but a bit cramped for more than two adults. It rained one night, but everything inside remained okay.

I do not recommend this place if you like to sleep when your on vacation. Or if you want any amenities at all. There is no air, no refrigeration, just a bed that is very uncomfortable. A bathroom with a shower that will not accommodate a larger person and two small side tables. The walls are paper thin so you can here the conversations of those next to you. The store doesn't have much for food. There is a restaurant but it's expensive. I definitely do not recommend the steak sandwich unless you like meat you can't chew. I had about two bites and couldn't even cut it. They give me $2.50 cents off the bill after admiting to me and I quote " yeah the ribeye is stringey" when I told them I couldn't eat it. I did eat there one other time and got the chicken wings they were good. There is one other place to eat about 40 minutes away. The closest grocery store is an hour away. I booked the room for 5 days but had to leave after the 3rd day because I hadn't slept. Both the room's next-door to me had men that snored all night. I was miserable and exhausted. To top it off the smoke detectior went off and wouldn't stop. Luckily it was just after i got out of the shower and not in the middle of the night. They don't open until 7am and this was about 7:15 so I had to hurry to get dressed and run down to the gas station to let them know. I have no idea how I could have contacted them if it had been earlier. I'm still waiting to hear back if they are willing to give me a refund for the last two nights I paid for. I was told they would contact me later today but they are now closed.Rooms: I described the room in my review, but it's definitely not worth the $227 a night that I paid.Nearby activities: There are about 3 trails near by that im aware of but two of them where closed to vehicles so you have to hike alot father. It's about 45 -50 minutes to the dunes and then 15 minutes from there to the next place and so on about an hour and a half total to see everything there is to see. Absolutely no cell service except at the gas station and restaurant so make sure to download any map locations tour trying to get to.Walkability: The gas station is about a minute walk and the restaurant is right next to the motel. I would definitely not call it a resort.Food & drinks: I described this in my review.Noteworthy details: The view is the best part!

We stayed in a cabin that was good. The towels looked like they were 10 years old and the shower leaked all the bathroom floor because they don’t have the proper shower. I would not stay more than one night if you need internet or access to your phone. We booked two and left after one.WiFi/cell service. There is WiFi at the restaurant and the general store. Not in the campground or the cabins. You have to walk to the store or restaurant to get service. There is no cell service in this area.

Super cute motel and grill. There camping and rv pitches too. The motel is pretty basic but incredibly picturesque. The grill is open for lunch at dinner until 9 all year around. Also for breakfast but when the park closes, breakfast options are limited to the had station.Staff are helping and friendly.Peaceful place to stay.Food & drinks: Restaurant and gas station open from 7am till 9pm (restaurant may not be open for breakfast during low season)

It's a good location, but the service is not the best. The tent is really basic, just a tent with beds, towels, pillows, & blankets. No electric. The service is the worst. The employees at the gas station weren't helpful at all when we asked questions because they are all seasonal workers that don't know or don't have any information. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars because of the service, but the location and rooms are okay.Rooms: They're okay.

We had no expectations booking the rooms here, but when we arrived, and walked into the room,It was like an episode of criminal minds with some creepy guy watching your every move while you’re in the room. We arrived hungry, tired, and in need of a shower. The restaurant was small, expensive and the food was less than good. I had ribs which were definitely cooked in a crockpot. They had absolutely no flavor, except for they were slathered in barbecue sauce. After paying our bill, nearly $90 for two dinners we went to the room. It was absolutely horrible. The walls were so then you could hear somebody fart in the next room. You could barely take a shower the stall was so tiny, rust and mold on the walls and the showerhead was aimed directly out of the shower stopped by the shower curtain. There is this disgusting carpet on the bathroom floor and it remained wet the entire time we were there, outside the shower. The shower kept leaking as did the sink the entire time we were there, even after telling the staff about the leaks. I would not recommend this place. there were two plugs in the wall, one of which had a lamp and a portable heater plugged in in the other you could may be used to charge your phones, but it was not in a very convenient place. There was one bedside table and a double bed no hangers to hang your clothes you could barely walk by the end of the bed , the room was so tiny there’s no where to even put your toothbrush in the bathroom

I am leaving a review for the tent camping section (using your own tent) We camped here to explore Death Valley and it had some 5 star quality and some 1 star quality - so I decided to split the difference - and am giving them 3 stars! 1 star because it is really close to the main road going into the park and it can be a bit noisy. The tent spaces are extremely close together and are in a grid with nothing dividing you from the next group except a few rocks on the ground. Sites are a bit small and have zero privacy. The last issue I had was there was a group of 5-8 and they were obnoxious and loud pretty late into the night and obviously nobody from the resort was around to ask them to be quiet. 5 star - $15 a night to camp is very reasonable especially when there aren’t many options in or around Death Valley. There is running water to each site - not sure if it is potable or not - we used it only for cleaning. Has flush toilets and showers which is always a plus. Great stars at night! Each site has a nice heavy duty picnic table and a nice fire ring. They do sell firewood but it’s super expensive so bring some if you can! We had a site right next to the single flush toilet - the lady working said we wouldn’t hardly smell anything. I’m quite a woodsman so it doesn’t bother me too much but you can definitely smell it if you are at a site close by…

We visited the restaurant and the store at the resort. The staff demonstrated kindness and genuine interest in our travels. They even made helpful suggestions for travel.Nearby activities: Excellent hikes within a short driveFood & drinks: The food was exactly as described.

Review is for gas, glamping tent, restaurant.Gas.Coming from Furnace Creek, my wallet had slipped between drivers seat and center console without me knowing when trying to get gas at Stovepipe Wells.Stovepipe Wells doesn't have Tap to Pay, and their general store was closed, they closed at 4:30 pm and it was now 6:30 pm so I couldn't go in to see if they had tap to pay inside.I was S.O.L.I drove to Panamint Springs because I knew their general store would be open (I'd called Panamint to verify they were open).Got to Panamint, their Tap to Pay was inside and was iffy. But! After multiple tries (meaning that they were really, really, helpful), including powering off and on their machine, my phone and their machine got in the groove and I was able to get gas. (Immediately after getting gas, I found my wallet). Their gas was $5.89 (Stovepipe $5.79, Furnace Creek $8.20) as of yesterday, 10.19.23.Regarding the "hotel". I stayed in one of their glamping tents, so will only comment on this. Clean, beds made upon arrival. It even had a storage locker. There is a fire ring and picnic table right there. Very nice. Showers down the way. Restaurant and general store, across the street.Food & drinks: Regarding the restaurant.I sat on the outdoor patio which was pretty full at the time. This is about 7:00 p.m. at night on October 19th. While the patio was full, Shawn welcomed me, was friendly, and efficient. It had been a long day for me so I asked for a very large glass of water. She gave me a Stein of water which was brilliant!I had the Greek Salad w chicken, which was Delicious, (and a side of onion rings). Disclosure: the salad was so filling that I ate my onion rings for breakfast on my road trip)Practically speaking, this place shaves off about an hour from my drive. The truth is, it's a quirky little hole in the wall that if you blink, you'll miss it.Don't blink.

Me and my friend bought expired products from the general store on 20th October 2023. We figured that out after we left the store, we sent them an email with pictures of the expiration dates and the receipts with what we bought. They replied really quickly, thanking us for notifying them, they said they will process the refunds and remove the items from the store.Nothing happened for more than a week, we sent them a reminder, we still have the money spent for expired food that we threw away.

Look, if you are wanting a Waldorf experience this ain’t the place! If you want quaint, cool, quirky, minimal with fun….this is the place!!! Love the bar and restaurant!!! The food is awesome, and the chili they had was to die for (didn’t have it the last time I went). You can meet people from all over the world if you want to make new friends and talk adventures. You can rent rooms in their cabins, camp in the campground, eat, drink, and get gas. Kind of like an old stagecoach stopover, I love this place!!!!!Go spend your money there and keep it alive.

We didn't stay at the resort but the people there were very nice. I'm not sure if the gas station worker is a part of the crew or not, but we owed him big gratitude. Our tire leaked and we had to stop to change it right before driving across the Death Valley. He was so helpful to provide us all the essential information and let us use his wifi when our phone had no signal out in that middle of nowhere. We've made it safely to the next town, which is 115 miles away thanks to his assistance.

We stayed 2 nights in the tent camping spots. It was first come first serve, but there were many spots still available. The $15 includes showers in an enclosed and tiled central bathroom. Wifi at the restaurant was good for basic uses. Restaurant was good and has a solid food menu along with a menu of 200 bottled beer choices available.
