Now this is how coffee shops should be! Higher Grounds is a very cozy, intimate, community-based spot with fantastic drinks/food and great seating both indoors and outdoors. The girls working here was very kind and attentive.They have a nice selection of seasonal coffees and breakfast menu options- the breakfast sandwich was very good! Everything is so reasonably priced.

Real coffee enthusiasts!From entering you could tell Higher Ground knows coffee. Super friendly staff, amazing selection of roasts and very good pricing.We grabbed 4 drinks, two bags of coffee and some coffee bread. The coffee bread was flavorful and moist. The coffee, blown away by the flavor profiles. Definitely a local hidden gem.Tons of space to sit inside or outside. A lot of parking out front and the right of the building.Defiantly our go to spot when in town. Will be back!

Mid experience, surprised considering how good the reviews are. One of the counter ladies has an attitude, but the rest are lovely. Every cookie I ever had here was dry and yucky. Tea was delicious and so is the matcha. The rest of the pastries and the food are a huge disappointment. The sandwich is bland, bagel is depressing, scones aren’t even scones… only the macaroni salad is delicious. Cozy spot but definitely overpriced, way overpriced, for the quality and portion sizes.

I tried their brown sugar cinnamon latte (seasonal flavor) which was recommended by the sweet lady who was taking my order. It was good and I’m surprised of how reasonable their prices are. Aside from drinks and pastries, they also offer soup. The vibe inside is very chill with a lot of windows for natural lighting. They sell paintings from local artists and offer books to read inside the store.

There is something special about the mountain communities. The crisp air, the sense of community and the unique shopping opportunities. This shop encompasses all of that. Right on the corner, a former gas station.Just looking for a good cup of coffee we stopped in here. We ended up getting an Americano and a tea , both were delicious . The food menu was so enticing that we had to try a few things. We started off with avocado toast which was seasoned well. They had a build your own sandwich menu, you fill out a slip to build your sandwich. From the delicious bread to the thick slices of meat and fresh produce, the sandwich came out amazing. The display had a decent selection of sweet treats. I was enticed by the cinnamon roll, but ultimately ended up ordering a coffee cake and a seasonal selection of a pumpkin cupcake. We were both super satisfied with the pumpkin cupcake. The cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting was flavorful but not too sweet.We're really glad we stopped in to try this local treat.In addition to the food being great, the staff was also sweet and talkative. In particular, the gentleman making the sandwiches seemed very excited to serve what he had created for us.We sat inside where there is limited seating but did notice that they did have an outdoor patio area with additional seating.Vegetarian options: Avocado toast.Dietary restrictions: Dairy alternative for coffee drinks for an additional charge.

We always support local coffee shops and this little mountain town provided a nice little stop on our way out! We like that they support local missions and churches. Coffee with a purpose. Wish it had more seating on the inside. Overall it was great!

I don't normally write reviews but after waiting literally 20 minutes for two drinks I have to say this place has extremly slow service. The sloweset service of any coffee shop I have ever been to. Three people that ordered after me got their drinks before me. One time the barista forgot I had an order until I reminded him 10 minutes after. He hadn't even started making it. Really need to improve the turn around time on orders. 20 minutes for 2 drinks is insane

I'm a patient person, I really am. But here's the thing, this place is hit and miss with a strong track record of miss.For some reason there are at least three new women a week who work here, and they've obviously not had training on how to make all the drinks, or operate the espresso machine.So beyond getting your order wrong, which they do because they always seem to be overwhelmed and forget what people ordered, they will do bizarre things like give you an iced americano made with drip coffee.One person knows how to make a cappuccino, and as much as he seems try and teach the others this will never stick when there are new hires every week.The beans aren't great to begin with, so knowing how to pull an espresso and above all *grind the beans properly for the weather* is essential. I see no timer around the machine so I know they never do a morning pull to see if they need to adjust the grind for the weather when it's foggy etc. I really wanted to give this place a go, and I've been here more than 50 times now but I give up. Someone please get some consistency here. And speed! It shouldn't take anyone more than 45 seconds to make a drink! A plain coffee shouldn't taste like it's been in the office thermos for a week at six in the morning.I am aware that I may be pickier than most as I have worked as a barista in several shops, but when you pay $5+ for a coffee, most people DO get this picky. We'd like the correct order, within a reasonable timeframe.Spot is very cute though and the baked goods are good, on the days when they are good. Like with the coffee, it's hit and miss. Everyone who works here is sweet and cheerful, but that only takes you so far when all I want is a proper coffee.

Leah and Chad are very kind and provide wonderful service. This was our 3rd time here and everything we’ve had is great. Our favorites are the iced Oat Milk lattes & the Ham & Cheese Puff Pastries & the Breakfast Sandwich. Another guest said that their Chocolate Pastry was the bomb. So next time, we’re definitely getting that.

How aren't you going to go to a coffee Shop, on a mountain, called Higher Grounds if you aren't a waste of space? Love the service, I love just sitting in and sipping on my drink. Lovely baristas in a lovely town.Its a shame I could only go while I was down there for some work, but I'm glad I found it. Hopefully I can find a reason to back there.

Ty Higher grounds! ☕️ ☕️ ☕️**Update!**After living up here in the mountain for over a year, this place has really provided Good customer service AND also community care and atmosphere. Thank you Chad for always being a good host, and also allowing the community to come together through open mic in the summer season on the outdoor stage at night, and also hosting Game night! It was so fun last time playing games, video games - Mario Kart and smash brothers indoors with the community!This place is more than a coffee shop, but a central hub to connect the community with great Positive people.There's artist who also display their artwork here on the shelf, and they sell their artwork every month. Their is an artist of the month beginning of every month.I also had the pleasure and opportunity to be part of a group here which met 1 time per week, this place is very versatile and open.There is parking here, and it may seem limited, but there is also other parking spaces around the area. The quick walk to the coffee shop is well worth it, and there is also a bulletin board where people can post their business and also make connections there. The possibilities at this location is big, and it's a must visit if your in the area, or want to experience mountain life here in crestline.Again, thanks for supporting the community and also bringing the people of the mountain closer like family, and also closer to God!Chad is the man!!Kid-friendliness: Yes! Definitely kid friendly, and also ask Chad for the game nights with indoor video games and activities!Indoor stays warm all season, and its a nice and cozy spot.

Great potential, good coffee.Terrible service, unhappy employees (even rude I’d say), the property is a mess and not well maintained and honestly a bit hazardous in some places. Either the business owners are not present enough or not business minded people. I’d guess a combination thereof.In the years they’ve been here I’d have expected more improvements, instead it’s just run down and slow slow service.Unfortunately this was probably our last visit here. 10 minutes to get a plain drip coffee, 30 full minutes for a bagel with egg and cheese. And it was really not that busy.I understand good help is hard to find and high schoolers need a first job but one well paid, experienced barista could have easily done the job of all 4 employees present.

Delicious coffee, phenomenal service. I got their iced rose latte which is a special seasonal flavor of the shop that Shea crafted beautifully. I also got a bag of beans to take home that is absolutely delightful. Chad helped me to pick the perfect bag and he ground them for me.Don't forget to pick up a punch card while you're in the shop, you'll definitely be going back for more like me! :D

Amazing sandwiches!! I had the roast beef on rosemary garlic bread and it was epic. Staff was super friendly, seating area is small but charming, with a large patio for outdoor dining. Regardless of what sandwich you order, you have to add the special deli dressing, it is perfection.

I ordered bacon, eggs, ham sandwich because I am lactose intolerant. I also bought a mocha coffee with almond milk. This place deserve five star with their awesome lactose free option. Also the sandwich I got wasn’t on the menu, but they made it taste delicious anyways! 😍

This is such a cozy place and a new stop for me everytime I'm in the area. Their menu is great and the girls that were working when I was there were so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help me. I ordered an Iced Americano and it was exceptional. I also ordered a sandwich and it was delicious. You can tell that they have a sustainable business built on care and quality products.

Cozy local coffee house - with EXTREMELY good pastries (i recommend the bacon and cheese scone or the ham and cheese pastry puff). The coffee is excellent - my favorite is the Americano (iced and hot are delicious). there is an outdoor seating area that is perfect for those warm days. They also carry great local artist merchandise available for purchase. Definitely a must stop when in Crestline!Just added a pic of my turkey, lettuce, onion, pepperjack sandwich on rosemary & garlic bread (the pic only shows half of the sandwich. Comes with chips. Very filling and DELICIOUS!! Pair this meal with a cool drink and enjoy it in the outdoor patio.

We had the best service from assisting with picking put an amazing bag of coffee, professionally ground to our liking to the wonderful preparation and taste of our custom coffee drinks.Higher Grounds offers all of the Los Angeles dairy alternative accouterments all served genuine, inviting, warm, small mountain town hospitality.This is a coffee shop you don't want to miss while visiting Crestline.

Best coffee house on the mountain!! Chad and Shay are amazing!! I have milk allergies and can no longer have my favorites white mocha and white mocha and they invented a great drink that I love just as much and no tummy ache!!!!! Such a happy fun atmosphere!!
