Quaint, mountain cafe that serves a wide variety of food dishes. Decorated for the holiday. ;) Portions are large and you can share. We went to the restaurant with a local. Young server really "appears to not like her job". She doesn't remember requests well and doesn't seem to care. Full stack blueberry pancakes were great, Over medium eggs, Sausage and hash browns were awesome. Eggs Benedict looked great but eggs were undercooked and whites clear & runny. Requested eggs over medium. They did remake them. They were very good then. Amber, was training another server but came over to check on us. She made everything good. We stated all was good now. We enjoyed everything very much. $10-$15.avg pp

Cozy atmosphere. We tried the lasagna special and baked salmon. The tomato sauce had too much water and was too greasy. Flavorful, but just work on getting the sauce down better. The fish was flavorful, but a tad salty. We'd return for sure.

Had to ask for ice water three times. My wife had to grab an extra set of silverware from a neighboring table after asking multiple times. My kids pancakes came with no chocolate chips after ordering them with them. Waitress took them back to the kitchen and sprinkled a couple chocolate chips on top then brought them back then went on to give attitude when we asked if they remake them the way we ordered. Came back with burnt cold bacon on the plate and condescendingly asked me if I wanted to recheck the pancakes to see if the were done to my liking. Leaving a one cent tip and probably never coming back here for breakfast which sucks because I live in Crestline and this restaurant use to be good.

Staff would constantly forget to bring stuff, forcing us to either ask other staff or ask again. They did not return my debit card.Food portions are small, sauces, and condiments skimpy, but they were tasty after we finally received them.Honest opinion, if the service was better, we would consider coming back, but for our first impression, it was not worth our time and money to return.Note to management, you had what I assume was a bus boy. Young man skinny blonde hair. He did a better job than all your waitress and waiter staff consider promoting him. :)

Loved the place. Great atmosphere and while the service and most of the staff i spotted seemed to be working hard, all the millennials working there need to concentrate more on paying attention to the lob than talking so much and forgetting what they were doing. I watched it happen a half dozen times. As to the meal?! My chicken fried stake was great, and the biskets and gravy were great 👍.As to the price. They are just as outpriced nowadays as everyone else. $25 for my meal and coffee. Not good. The food was great. If you can afford it, it's a nice place, but be prepared to spend at least $100 for an average family of 4.Sincerely, the not so rich , not so stuck up , Amateur motorcycle food critic.

Friendly, fast service! First, we ordered a cup of French onion soup. It was delicious, full of flavor with a gooey cheese top! Then we ordered the Best Western burger with sweet potato fries and The Logger burger with onion rings. The burgers were cooked perfectly, and the fries and rings were crispy. A delicious and satisfying meal. The place needs a cosmetic makeover, but I will overlook that fact because of their amazing food!

So glad we stopped at this little gem. The hostess greeted us, and we were promptly seated. We were there for breakfast but my husband had lunch instead. They were accommodating when my husband asked to have a hamburger(no bun) with grilled onions, the french fries were crisp and he enjoyed both of them very much. I tried there fresh biscuits and gravy, and their Machaca, which was delicious. Definitely a must stop if your in the area.

This place is a great small town Cafe located in the town of Crestline in the mountains up State Highway 18. The service is great and food has very fair portions. I have enjoyed many great breakfasts at the Cafe. I have not had lunch or dinner options but have been told those a very good as well. If you are corned beef hash fan, the Cafe makes a couple corned beef hash plates that are amazing, Mountain Benedict (my favorite pictured below) and Country Benedict. I have also had the garden scramble and make your own omelet with bacon, sour cream and quacamole (pictured below), delicious. If you like steak and eggs, give theirs a try you won't be disappointed. I'll be eating here again soon and will post more pics. If you are up for a drive to the mountains for some breakfast, I highly recommend Crestline Cafe. Enjoy

Wonderful! Had breakfast here today (Thursday). We were greeted and seated promptly. The two servers were very kind and attentive - excellent waitstaff! I ordered the Big Texas Breakfast Burger with country potatoes and it arrived quickly. My meal was very tasty, and was presented well (from it's menu description, I expected a messy dish). I tried a bite of my partner's chorizo and eggs and it was also delicious. Green and red Tabasco were on the table, and when I asked about additional hot sauce options, I was brought Cholula and a DELICIOUS house sauce made with Trinidad Scorpion peppers. It was a great experience, and every interaction with the servers left a smile on my face. Definitely recommend!Parking: Plenty of free parking.

Came here a few weeks ago for some good old breakfast when I escaped to the mountains for a weekend with my boyfriend. It was a really really nice restaurant. Came early enough before the crowds. They had an amazing cherry French toast. They had a good variety of syrups to choose from. The waitress was busy but super pleasant. The only bummer thing is that the credit card machine was down and had to walk to the atm right behind the building to pull out money. Overall very pleasant restaurant. Food came out hot and delicious. Would a hundred percent recommend to anyone especially if you are looking for a home style meal.

The food and service was AMAZING! Go here! I had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious. My husband had the steak and eggs with hash browns and he was not disappointed. Hats off to the chefs.Kid-friendliness: Even though my kids were the only ones there, everyone was very friendly and just like a good ol’ diner. Family oriented.

Hello everybodySoooo, I really wanted to love this place, but I didn't.The food was greasy (not saying greasy food can't taste wonderful)and didn't taste good not even the fries and I love fries lol...The service was mediocre and the bill was pretty high for the bad food and service. If I were you, and looking for a decent meal, I would definitely try a different place.

We had the dog on a leash and took advantage of the outdoor dining area, on a lovely day, with umbrellas for shade. We got take out, including a dish of water for the dog. The Crestline Burger beats the Bear House burger hands down! The Monte Cristo was crispy fried and filling. Hot fresh fries rounded off a nice lunch.Update 8/4/21: today we returned and I got a wonderful patty melt with onion rings.YUM! Spectacular service and tasty food!Update 12/13: Delicious breakfast with selection of hot teas.

Specifically want to note that they had gluten free buns! Super important for those with a gluten allergy. I had the Monterey Chicken Sandwich with the GF bun (it usually comes with sourdough) which was delicious. Props on portion sizes, the side salad was huge. Others at the table had the Mountain Climber which was also a large portion! Unfortunately the fries are not GF (not fried in a dedicated GF fryer). Overall great service with knowledge of such an extensive menu.

I went with my best friend and my girlfriend. I had never eaten there before, and everything was fantastic. We started with Bloody Mary's, which were incredible. (I think we had 3 or 4 each.) LolThe food was hot and delicious and served quickly even though they were busy. In fact, we had the owner wading our table. Everyone in there was incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. 🙂

Friendly local diner. It is always nice to be in a place and see the servers talk with people as if they know everyone, even if they only know about 2/3.An omelete with house sliced pastrami, swiss, and lots of jalapenos. My server and I both enjoyed coming up with that creation.

After a visit to the Heart Rock Trail hike this stop hit the spot. Restaurant is following COVID-19 guidelines so there’s minimal tables open. Expect a wait however, it wasn’t long before we got our table. Pancakes were nice & fluffy. Waiter (teenager) was a bit forgetful possibly new hire. Food order came out quick. Chile Verde omelette was delicious the green sauce was flavorful with chunks of pork and country potatoes were cooked right.

Great place, but the service was a little lacking. I feel like this is how it is everywhere now. The old service standards for dining out are far gone. We pay more for much less. The bacon was burnt. Our order was switched. I know in California the wait staff gets paid a minimum wage, so tips aren't their livelihood, but yet you're shamed and called a Karen if you complain. I always tip in full and never complain. I just waist my miney on a bad experience and go home and feel like I can't go out to eat ever again. Make your food at home. Like, who wants to pay for burnt bacon and cold food and then be called a Karen because I didn't want it. Who does that? Barf.
