BE AWARE!!I ordered for my pet a large automatic pet door. It looks good but doesn't really work properly. Later on I ordered additional door tag for my pet. I ordered it on 6.10.2023 and still did not get it. I emailed several times with no reply back. Today I called them again, the guy asked me for my website.. I told him that I do not have one. I guessed that he is asking for my email, I gave it to him and his reply was: "talk to somebody else" and he hangup on me. This is customer service that you get, their own face!! Shame on you!!!! You took my money and did not deliver the product = you stole my money! You deserve 0 stars!!!!!!!

I have Had 2 doors from him for years now. They are the largest ones. For over 2 weeks now I have Been trying to get parts for one the doors. The motor and pulley is broken. I have spoken to a multiple times and each time I talk to him he doesn’t recall the last conversation. He asked me to email over my confirmations I did that and we had to do go over that twice. Over two weeks later now, still no parts and can’t get in touch with him. I think he is losing his mind. And I was charged for all my parts. Not sure what to do or how to handle this. I guess I will have to call my credit card and have the charges reversed. anyone have any idea of how to get in touch with this man? Prior to that the doors have been great. I have five dogs ranging from Frenchies to great Danes. So they’ve been great. But now that I need parts, I can’t get them.

A16-lb door shipping UPS ground from CA to TX - costs $235? This is half the price of the door.Customer service & response to questions about replacing the door we have (which has been great! Just worn out) has been poor - seems very annoyed with basic questions on size & clarification before placing an order.The products are great - the service and support are NOT.

The door works using ANY old magnet! Even a kitchen magnet opened the door. It isn't any kind of special magnet. Why is a magnet costing $40 with $20 to ship it. I can get a magnet anywhere. So can a burglar! I am a little freaked out by this.Follow up: Pretty much anything with a rechargeable battery will open this door. I was able to open it by waving my cell phone in front of it and then my earbuds and then a kid's toy. I think anything with a lithium ion rechargeable battery will open this door.

I called and asked if i could pick up the door direct instead of having it shipped because i live nearby and he went on a rant on how i am trying to avoid paying taxes and put him out of business and then he hung up on me. i was willing to pay to have it shipped, i was just checking. Now there is no chance i am buying from them. I am very confused

This is a long, overdue review of a product that we absolutely love!! We purchased our Solo Pet Door back in 2005 and except for replacing a spring, we have not had one problem with this well made, quality product! Not only does it keep critters out of our house, our Solo Pet Door changed our lives by giving our pets the freedom to come and go as they please and us a peace of mind about their safety. The pet tags are also well made! 14 years of service is a true testimony to the quality of the product and we would buy another in a heartbeat! Highly, highly recommended!!

Hank Solo is the most unprofessional individual. Poor customer service. I ordered a door in November. When it arrived I found out it was the wrong one. I tried calling the number on file and no answer. After a few attempts he finally answered and I explained the scenario. He was helpful at first until I said I needed to return the door… I initially asked for an exchange. And he hesitated. Then he hung up. I tried calling, and calling, no answer. I thought I legit got ripped off. I called my bank to report it. They refunded me the payment. And I sent the old door back. Come to find out he sent another door. A really small door! I asked him why he sent another door... I asked for a refund? He stated there was a confusion. I called my bank and to dispute and come to find he charged another $38.50 with out approval or authorization! The representative said some smaller companies do this to keep the payment and they can show they sent the product via confirmation of delivery. I contacted the state for them to further investigate this business. I highly not recommend this place. Very unethical practices. Definitely will never give my business to this individual or this company.

I purchased a Solo pet door and loved it, so I am ordering one for our new home. I ordered 4 extra magnets this time, so when my daughters come I can tag their pets. Last time I didn’t do that, but I was able to find some inexpensive collar magnets through Amazon that worked just as well, and the shipping fee was very small.Our first home was in Colorado, it worked great even in below 0 degree temps.

Type: Through Wall for Large Dog. Not to discount anyone's challenging experience, I just wanted to share my luck with this auto door. I had it installed by a handyman. Took most the day. The thing he missed was mounting at the correct elevation. It's higher than recommended, but still works fine for my dog. Since it was installed 4 years ago, it has NEVER failed. I don't know if I'm super lucky OR this particular model is amazing! I do need to get another magnet for the dogs collar.

I have had solo pet doors for ~17 years and love the ability of my dogs to go outside as needed to relieve themselves. I recently moved to my retirement home and my son put in a solo pet door first thing for my dogs! I recently adopted a rescue dog and she was not house trained and within a few days she was completely trained and no accidents inside whatsoever. My son also purchased one for his home.

I had the almost 60"H x 20"W door installed by a handy man when I was adding a sunroom to my home summer of 2015. Believe me when I say that I designed the sunroom and 9 large windows placement around this door. Needless to say, I wanted this product to WORK!I have 6 personal dogs from 3.5 lbs to 70 lbs. and have fostered close to 200 dogs thus why I got such a large door. I had the door hard wired to an outlet and have had NOTHING BUT SUCCESS with this door. I don't necessarily buy replacement magnets from Solo because any magnetic collar tag will work (or the ones I have purchased have worked just fine). I gave it a 4 for two reasons; I feel their magnetic tags can be better wrapped and also because it doesn't offer a wi-fi/app feature to turn the door on and off.I am about to break ground on a custom home and have a designed a dog room with dog suites for my babies and have purchased two more Solo doors for that house. I've been told by my GC that they can hard wire it to one of my "smart" outlet and I should be able to control it via my smart panel app. I have integrating a "smart" panel into my home so my devices work seamlessly AND my designated outlets will be "smart".Hopefully this review helps some people decide whether this door is for them or not.

1-The directions are almost non-existent. Installation requires an electrician that knows far more than what is explained in the directions.2-The product does not work as described. When the sensitivity is set too low, the dogs cannot use it. When the sensitivity is slightly higher, the door opens 3-4 times per minute throughout the day allowing other creatures to enter3-Customer service is terrible. The person is condescending at best. He blamed me for the malfunction, saying that I had 'stripped' the delicate screw that controls the sensitivity.4-I had to purchase another Mechanical Box (total cost now over $900). The directions that were sent were for a different product. So, I am paying my electrician hourly to sort out their error.5-Still the product does not work and it constantly opens when the dogs are no where near the device.6-The hole that is needed for the unit removes 8 inches of insulation and the door is not sealed. Heat escapes making the room VERY cold (I live in Michigan)

The absolutely best dog door on the market. Our first door is 15 years old and still works perfectly, we bought another door last year for a second home and again, it works perfectly. I highly recommend their doors!

Door works for the most part. No real issue with the door. However, I have an issue with the shipping practices of this company. The last time I ordered replacement tags, I was charged $26.10 for shipping two tiny magnetic tags that don't even weigh an ounce. The guy there told me they are no longer able to ship via U.S. mail due to the pandemic. I don't see how the pandemic would affect shipping magnets. They were shipped via UPS. At that time the tags were $12.50 each, so I paid more for shipping than I did for the tags. Unfortunately, when the order is placed, they don't give you the total price including shipping, so you don't really know what you are paying for shipping until after it has been shipped. I see on their website now, that they have raised the price of the tags in the past 2 weeks, so now it will cost even more plus their obscene shipping price.

This product spoiled our entire family! Not ONE problem in 6 years. I had a handyman install & he did a fantastic job.Now we moved, unfortunately closer to mountains, so for us electronic door essential. We don't worry about her going out when something may get her. She sniffs very carefully before jumping through.We need another door installed in new housd, but old installer gone. The area we picked may be too small for a solo, so we need guidance on smaller product.Will miss our solo...

This door is amazing and perfect. I spent a lot of time looking at other doors but this one is the safest for my pet. The others have bulky collars that emit ultrasonic noise. It’s not ultrasonic for my dog!The door goes up and down instead of swinging which is sturdier and cleaner. I wouldn’t buy any other dog door!The only suggestion I have is I wish it had the alarm hooked up to some sort of on line app with maybe a camera option (like ring doorbell) so we could see what’s going on when the motion sensor goes off. But none I found has that yet.

I have had my solo door since 2009. I had to replace the motor once since it was install, but it continues to work for my animal without fail, and it keeps out other animals like raccoons. I love it.
