I am an older man in my mid 70's who was visiting my adult daughter in Corning. When we tried to fix a flat tire on her new rototiller, I realized that the wheel pins were too long to get the tire back on the rototiller.I visited the hardware store looking for a shorter pin for my new rototiller. The pins for wheels were a little bit too long. The Ace hardware guys were VERY helpful in finding replacement pins but they were too long, too. The assistant manager named "Tony" realized the problem and went to the trouble of taking the new pins and cutting them just a little bit shorter so that they would work just fine. The shorter" pins worked great when I put the repaired tire back on the rototiller.I wanted to state how GREAT my experience was with the original helper who had such a pleasant and helpful attitude. But I especially want to state how GREAT Tony was for going way above and beyond his job for helping me out by cutting the new pins to make it possible to get the wheels back on the new rototiller. I couldn't have done it without the help of Tony.Thanks again.

I really like this store all the staff know there stuff. Plus it seems like each staff have their own area of expertise. They have a lot of animal care products and guess what? They even have a animal care expert ( unofficial expert ) but they know there stuff. I would buy again 10/10

well for starters I had at least every employee there asked me if I needed help finding anything made me feel like I was being watched because I'm a thief well if I need help with something I'll ask just like anybody else nobody likes that and the cashier was rude Don't spend your money here

I love shopping at mcoys the garden center in the back has some unique plants cost just a little more but it's worth it.ill show you one i bought it's a 🌵 but it so soft you can touch it feels like a short cruecut.and the rest of the plants i got at Mcoys.

The place overall is okay, but if you are going specifically for plants this is not the place. Some reviews from years ago show otherwise, but that must of changed with whoever is in charge now. All plants are heavily overwatered causing them to all have root rot. The succulents seem to be watered daily, most plants are dead before buying so be careful.

I love this place I tend to buy gifts for my family here because they have a beautiful selection of jewelry, among other household knick-knacks that my family enjoys. An absolute must if you have pets, they always have the pet supplies I need. They also have lots of snacks you can find I love Ace hardware on South avenue.

So disappointed in the customer service at McCoy's today. The 2 female employees couldn't tear themselves away from chatting with each other. I asked them where a specific item was and got told it was "on aisle 18". I asked where that was and one of the girls pointed at the top of aisle, told me the numbers were right there, to keep following the numbers and it'll take me there. So I wander through the store following the numbers while they stand at the front chatting with each other. Then, when I'm back by the counter I see a rosemary Christmas tree and asked how much it was, they said "I don't know, pick it up and look at the stake in the pot for the price". Am I just expecting to much from them now? Maybe I just don't like change, because the employees used to escort me back to whatever it was I was trying to find/interested in buying or would at least havw come over to where I was and helped me find the price of something. I would have bought the rosemary Christmas tree, but instead I got mad and left. It must be nice to get paid to chat with fellow employees instead of helping customers.

At 2;10 pm, I called to ask if they had 12 ga. Shotgun shells, and get a price quote. The lady gave me the information I requested, And I told her thank you, I will be right there, I arrived within 10 minutes, waited in line, and when I got to cashier, I was told they cannot sell me ammo because the person that could, leaves at 2:00. I explained, that I had JUST called, before coming directly there. She asked the other cashier, who shook her head yes, but repeated. No, we cannot sell you any ammo.It would have been really nice, to have known that, when I called, not after I drove there, my reason for calling ahead, failed. As did, your cashie I will take my business else where

I always receive knowledgeable and helpful service when I shop here. The only thing I have encountered more than once though which is a bit frustrating, is looking to see if they have item in stock online and it shows that they do, then to drive there and find out they don't

The manager helped me get what I was looking for. I'd come from another town just because the website said it was in stock. Unfortunately, it could not be located but the manager promptly ordered some. I felt like I was a valued customer and didn't mind taking another trip to this store.

Very unhappy with this location. Went in to buy a 70 dollar space heater.had a coupon for $10 dollars off $40 or more item.the salesperson said that my item was not eligible for the discount but could give me no good reason.i asked to speak to a manager who said the coupon states some exclusions apply.the heater was not on sale so I asked him why it wasn't eligable.he stated that it was because ace didn't make any money on the item.ace hardware loses a customer over about $8 when I probably spend $2,000 a year there. Not a happy camper.the heater was for my 84 year old mother trying to stay warm in an rv.

It's a good store it's well stocked and employees are always there to help you prices are a little high as every other store but being the only game in town we really have no choice but to drive to Chico or Red Bluff so pay the price save a trip but overall the story is nice and clean and employees are very helpful

I had an issue with a transaction in there store I was charged twice on two separate credit card both accounts showed money being taken out because there system showed the first transaction being declined. I spoke with the manager the that day he passed the buck to the next manager the following day. I returned to speak with that manager who then passed the buck along to the accountant. I do not live in Corning and explained that to both managers I was there for business. The second manager assured me they would have the accountant take care of the issue on Monday and I would be receiving a call from her. Today is Monday and I did receive a call from a woman who was rude and would not let me explain anything to her. Everytime I tried to speak she would speak over me. This is not how anyone should treat a customer. I still have more business to do in Corning but will drive to Red Bluff so I don't have to do business with such rude uncaring people.

they should really change the name on google and put Ace Hardware first in the title. Because if someone comes to corning from somewhere else and looking for a ace hardware, its that they are going to see that the other location is closed and not know their is a nother one here , do to the fact sometimes this one don't show up when you just put Ace Hardware . then they would go somewhere else and can not help local community stores
