Use to go here to pick up crickets for my frog. It always smells terrible and most of the animals aren’t kept in very suitable enclosures. Some of the employees where helpful when I had questions, but the conditions of the store and animals upset me.

I went here to get mice for our snake and I held the rats. Who I must add are very sweet. My father knows the owner of the store so he would have more to say on this than I do. But anyways I fell in love with one of the mice I got and couldn't feed him to the snake so he is my pet now and good lord he is the sweetest thing overall 5 stars in every category

Bought a Mexican king snake from them ,very sweet snake they hooked him up with a nice cage ,taught me how to care ,handle ,feed etc for the snake...my sons in love with his pet he named him Rameses the great snake ...and the snake is very friendly and calm with being handled by my 7 yr old son ....thanks Hoffmans they really care about their animals and their customers they treat like family

Came here because I found this arbeol salamander in my house the gentleman was so friendly and told me about these amphibians. I definitely would recommend them for any reptile questions or if your thinking about investing in a reptile . I initially went to pet smart don't know what I was thinking you know because they sell some reptiles they would have known however this wasn't the case.

The animals are kept in depressing conditions. Some showed signs of respiratory distress. We left the place feeling deeply unsettled.

I just adopted a bearded dragon and the employees helped me get new lighting and live food for the little guy. The lady at the counter emphasized I could call any time for any questions. I felt very welcomed

This store used to be great but recently I’ve seen bad mistreatment of their animals. There’s a massive lizard living in a cage for one that should be tiny. It hurts my soul. Theirs geokos with no hides, water bowls, or things to lay on. Its just cruel

Under new ownership. The owner is a young man just starting out. Got lots of cool baby ball pythons corn snakes and many other snakes and lizards. Any food you need for your animals they have live and frozen.

Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I have never had any problems.The store is clean, cages are well kept and the reptiles are healthy ans happy.The workers treat each of the critters as their own.Love them.

staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. they have excellent rats I like that they aren't sickly. when I lived in Colorado the store i went to there had sick feeders and got snake mites from them too.this store doesn't have those issues at all. excellent store.

Stopped in today to pick up some food for my leopard gecko while I was in the area. Depressingly small enclosures without proper hides, substrate or lighting. Maybe it's a marketing strategy to get people to rescue the poor things? Please don't shop here.

I haven't been here in quite some time but needed to stop by for roaches. I was actually really surprised that the tanks had very poor husbandry. They were very dirty, the water bowls were murky and filled with poop and dead insects, and many of the the reptiles didn't have hides or furniture in general. It was really sad. But the customer service was good and they had what I needed.

Absolutely amazing and professional! They have answered every question we’ve ever had as new frog parents, and more importantly the answer them with kindness and patience. Never have I once felt like I was a bother and I ask them questions CONSTANTLY! They are so kind, so knowledgeable with all their animals and they take good care of their animals!! I will never step foot in a Petco or Persmart for frog food/supplies ever again if I don’t have to. They truly have all of your necessities for reptiles, amphibians and arachnids!! Definitely go to them if you are looking for a reptile pet or supplies!!!

Nice employee that helped, but thas the ONLY good thing. absolutely horrid conditions that the animals are kept in. No husbandry at all. Feces piled up in cages, not correct hides, overpriced feeders. I'd be embarrassed to have my name on the front of that store.

Very small and cute. However, I stopped in to look into getting a leopard gecko and when I asked about the bundle promo they had going on and what size enclosure it included, the girl "Alysia" I believe was her name informed me it included a ten gallon tank that could fit " two or three geckos" .... That was an immediate red flag. Geckos should not only be housed alone for safety and ethical reasons but should be in minimum 15-20 gallon tank. Also, sand as a substrate 😐. Unfortunately I won't be choosing Hoffman's for my gecko needs. I truly hope they better educate their employees for their reptiles sake.

Overall, a very nice and good looking place with good looking animals. I bought two baby rats a couple weeks ago, and since I've had them, one of them has been having some issues with her nose(a lot of access perforin and snot and almost constant sneezing). The other rat sneezes but is fine other than that. I'm not sure if that's just how they are but this could be because they weren't living in a proper, clean environment prior to when I got them. I may take them to a veterinarian just to be on the safe side. Besides that, it's a great place that I would definitely recommend.

They have live feeder rats & mice l. If I didn't need the live food for our snake I wouldn't shop here. They have too many reptiles in one aquarium and they need cleaned more frequently. I feel sorry for the reptiles they have in this store!

This place is small and has no parking but there is some street parking.The place is filled with reptiles which is nice to see, but from all the reptile shops I’ve ever been to this one has the strongest smell! Obviously of course there’s always that smell but this was really overwhelming.And lastly, the price! The prices are fairly high compared to the what I’ve bought across the bridge. I guess being the only spot near by they take advantage of that. The only other spot on this side is in Tracy. If anyone has any recommendations I’d gladly take them.

My Bearded Dragon was not in a proper cage and didn't have the correct lighting. His liver was failing and I didn't know what to do. After taking him to the vet and getting the medicine I needed I was referred to hoffmann's reptile shop. They got me set up with the cage, lighting and everything I needed to nurse my bearded dragon back to health. I go there for everything now Dan Mark and the other people there are extremely intelligent can inform you of everything you need to know to take care of your reptiles. I love this place I bring my kids in there can't say enough good things about it.

I don’t want to come off as a hater, but this establishment is bogus. We’re talking about extremely overpriced pets, sad; very sad animals with terrible stinky enclosures, and last but not least they have almost no selection of reptiles. Everything there for sale you could purchase at a Petco or Petsmart for 50$ instead of crazy rates starting at 199$ for a basic ball python.

Only place in town where you can get live feeder mice which is a bummer, because the skinny bald guy that always wears tank tops hits on my wife so now she refuses to go in there because he makes her feel uncomfortable. The only people I enjoy working with is the older guy, the owner and the girl. The other employees will just stand around BSing when they have a rush of people rather than trying to help more than one person at a time and the bald guy has a smugness about it that you just want to slap out of him.

If I could give zero stars I would. This reptile store is inhumane with their pets. There were so many snakes in one tank. Most of them did not have fresh water. Non of the snakes had hides. They all looked very stressed. The worst part was the tortoises. There were three large ones kept in a 40 gallon. I asked one of the workers and she told me they are kept in there 24/7. I don’t understand. That’s cruel. Some of the pets were kept well but others it was devastating. Also, feeding live is not the best method. It is not safe for all animals. The workers need to do some more research and educate themselves because clearly who ever is running this place has no idea what they are doing.

Workers are polite and all the reptiles seem to be healthy. I recently brought home a baby lepord gecko from them along with some substrate I noticed once I took it out of the bag that the substrate was sand with a little bit of dirt mixed in. When I got the gecko they said no sand and sand would cause impaction but as I got the substrate I found it to be sand wondering if they gave me the wrong substrate.
