This past weekend our friends and family booked 9 rooms for our wedding. I also reserved a suite with 2 rooms for my DJ and his mother. For starters reserved rooms were erased from the books and manager Dani had to come to the rescue on Friday. This first night, televisions did not work in 2 rooms. The next morning I showed up to pay for the suite I reserved. Surprise IT, amongst several other reservations had been erased. The guy at the counter played the I don't understand English card so I asked for Dani. He walked away yelling for Dani who was across the way putting out fires from the night before. She was dealing with a service tech and another gentleman when this counter guy started yelling at her and even physically pushed her. He told her to deal with me. I was soon informed the reservation I made a month in advance and confirmed the day before had been given away. Dani said someone erased the book. The counter guy, whom I assume is one of the owners had a oh well attitude and offered to put a roll away in a basic room. Not satisfactory, after a not so nice conversation I was given 2 rooms for the price of 1. To add insult to injury he attempted to over the charge me $20. To summarize the inadequate performance of this establishment: 9 rooms of which 2 more had to be compensated bringing the total to 11. 5 rooms had NO television. 2 rooms had NO HEAT. I will submit one positive note, Dani did make an effort to overcome the overwhelming chaos. She passed me a handwritten note apologizing for the mishap and said she was resigning the next day. I HOPE she did. This place makes our community LOOK BAD!!!

This is a mountain motel so yeah its older and not fancy, but it was clean and comfy. It had a fridge and microwave. Great place to stay if you are going to Columbia!Nearby activities: Columbia State Park

The building is not new, as a matter of fact it is an older building. But it was clean and smelled fresh when we stayed. We dealt directly with the owners who were very personable and nice.We originally asked for 3 rooms to accommodate the family members we were going to have staying in Columbia, but 3 weeks before the trip, 3 members cancelled. So we had to take our reservations down to 2 rooms. No problem at all as we were able to provide plenty of notice.As for the facility, it was quite nice. Very convenient to Columbia State Mining Park and all of the shops and restaurants there. Parking was no hassle and included with the room. The bedding was clean, the beds were comfortable, and as we had called ahead by a couple of hours, the in-room refrigerator was plugged in and cold. The AC was on and the room was comfortable.Would we recommend Columbia Inn Motel? Yep! Would we stay here again? Absolutely.

I usually stay at a Hyatt or Best Western. With all the bells and whistles but none of the wonderful people who operate this location. I received a call before I arrived to let me know the a/c was on and my room was ready. Just so down home and friendly. I pulled up to enter my room and the most friendliest employee greeted me. You can't find this service IMHO anywhere. I selected this motel because I grew up here. Wonderful. Thank you

Unbelievable customer service this is a quaint little place with clean rooms and a really nice place to lay your head . Just what we needed after an 8 Hour Drive. They stayed up and waited for us to arrive at 2o’clock in the morning so that we would have the comfort of a good nights sleep. They were still very helpful from that point forward with all of our needs in the fact that we came here and short notice in an emergency I only wish other people could have the same generosity and kindness that this inn offers you.

It was a last minute stay that was great! Really helpful staff and knowledgable! The rooms were clean and freshly remodeled and looks and feels great! This isn't a fancy motel but it is above average for the cost. Rooms are clean, roomy and warm or cool as you prefer. It is a bit old, sometimes the floors creak but everything seems well taken care of. Plus the office dogs and cats are a hoot. We have stayed twice while visiting family and will be back again.

Was really surprised. Was a little nervous after reading the previous reviews. Decided to give it a shot since it has gone under new management. Motel was extremely clean and the owners where super nice. I felt very safe. It was very quiet and I actually slept really well. I would definitely stay here again.

I just love ma and pop type of establishments. The room was very clean and the environment cozy and welcoming. These folks deserve business. We will absolutely be back by when we're in the area to say hello to their cute little dog Nugget. ♡

coming West out of Yosemite and looking for an affordable "special place" to wind down and found Columbia Inn online. What a wonderful surprise. The property is exceptionally clean and very savvy re: covid. We stayed in room 23 - Horse theme - and had a most comfortable sleep on the king size bed. Plus - the little town is a gem. Husband and wife owners very helpful- suggested walking distance restaurant - St. Charles Saloon - also perfect.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were extremely clean and very well maintained. I can say for the price (unbeatable) this place has very good value. The bathroom was also extremely clean and brand new. The amenities were also very good. This place is a hidden gem. It is also run by a lovely couple.

It is rustic and charming with a gold country theme. Very comfortable and reasonable in price. The best bed yet to sleep on...at least in #23. Its location is just a stone's throw from Columbia historical park. The owners are great hosts.

This is a very quaint motel that is within walking distance of Columbia's historic town (area). The beds are comfortable, each room has a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee pot. The brothers that own the motel are incredibly kind and highly attentive. I truly like supporting the family that owns this establishment and plan on returning the next time that I want to stay in Columbia.

This is a great, affordable place to stay in Columbia. Our room was very clean and the owners were so nice. They even changed the beds from room to room to accommodate us. We were able to keep the car parked at the motel and walk throughout Columbia. Very enjoyable and would stay here again.

Stayed only two nights, was doing a small group excursion with mining group. The rooms were nice for the $, and my husband and I want to know the brand of the bed we slept on, more comfortable than a pricey sleep # bed. The place is ran by the owners, they are a married couple and they live on site, so if you need anything, Rob will make it right.

To be clear, this is not a five star luxury hotel, however, for a budget Motel it gets 5 stars. I travel for work and stay in hotels for about half the year. We typically stay at Best Western or better lodging. While working in the Columbia area the choices were very limited. I was hesitant to book a room at an economy lodge and almost opted for an extra hour + drive. I'm glad I did not. We had a wonderful stay at the Columbia Motel. The rooms were clean and did not have the typical odor found at most budget Motels. The owners live onsite and take great care of their Motel. Extremely friendly. Step back in time with hand written check in, no computer bookings. The owner is a very proud Veteran. He patrols the parking lot through the night, I was able to sleep without worrying about my truck. The swimming pool was clean and a perfect temperature for the hot day. They have a gas bar b q at the pool that I assume is available for use. There is not a lot of food options but we found a nice little Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Definitely a place I would stay again. If you decide to stay, be sure to ask the owner to introduce Nugget. Family dog.

This is a true hidden gem in Tuolumne County. If you are planning on doing a trip here I Highly recomend this inn! First things first Rob and Cheryl are the coolest owners ever they are kind and caring about giving you the best stay possible, Two, the rooms are excellent and very comfortable, Three, you are in walking distance to Columbia State Historic Park home to shops and a few restraunts including my personal favorite the St. Charles Saloon. This place is very great and is in a wonderful location. Rob and Cheryl I can't thank them enough for how wonderful their sense in quality and commitment to their guest and the hotel and they are truly amazing people.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Very Clean🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Our very first step out of our car we were greeted by the owners of this property. We were overwhelmed by there warm Hospitality.. Husband and Wife run place that is absolutely WONDERFUL. The night view from our room is a huge lit up cross atop an old brick church. This is just a beautiful and gives such a since of peace. Perfect place for us and gotta love the QUIET....(This is not a party place but you can enjoy and entertain to your hearts content! Awesome Business. Under new ownership, the owner is ex-military police. I remember when this was full of druggies and prostitutes. Now with Rob as the owner non of that fly's. All in all this is a good safe place to rest your head for the night or the weekend, and the prices are not bad ether.

Rob and Cheryl are wonderful people. They helped my family out beyond belief after we had to evacuate due to a fire. Thank you both for being such nice people. We need more like you.
