my daughters and i are new to this horse stuff :) the people were amazing as well as the customers around in the store :) the gentleman even offered to drop my hay off since we only had a small car. i didn't live far but he was amazing they were all helpful and prompt. Thank you for the smiles at the end of that day .

I have been a long time customer at Mountain Feed, regularly buying hay for my horses. Have to go in on weekends as I work M/F. I have not had the "friendly staff" experience noted by others...maybe 3 or 4 times over 3 years has someone been friendly. They do greet you and ask what you want, but their affect is more akin to someone who has just returned from a funeral...kinda zombie-like with selective mutism. But then my experience has been almost exclusively with the weekend crew.Their prices may be a little better if you pay cash, but the overall experience of doing business is not.Case in point...I arrived at 3:56 pm on a Sunday when they close at 4. The worker (not someone new) was in the process of locking the gate. I told him to check the time...I had 4 min to 4 pm. He continued to lock the gate saying the cash registered was already closed. As he walked away I took out my cell phone, which read 3:58.Mountain Feed defines their business hours...I arrived within those established parameters and was turned away. I don't know what closing before the stated time does for them, but it cost me not only the gas and time to get there, but the time I'll have to take off of work, if I can, to get the horses fed.This all speaks clearly to business priorities...customer service not being one of them. I can't afford to go back.

The staff here is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They are well stocked with a wide variety of animal feeds and supplies. They also are well stocked with a variety of healthy plants that grow well in the mountain climates. The prices are VERY fair on all of the animal feeds (large or small animals), and plants.MUCH better to shop here with personal service and good quality products, than to drive to a large warehouse store. :)

The only place nearby since YLP hardware store closed. They would load the 50 lb dog food into my car. I really miss their service. Mountain Feed does not offer that.

I called this feed store this morning and asked if they had bass fish food.The girl said she had to go check and put me on hold.When she returned she said they had it.It took us about 30 mins to get there and when we did were told they have none.The young girl and the young man giggle like kids thinking it was funny to drive there for nothing.It just easy to go to box store rather then shop local.Just sad that these employees are running of customer instead of help them.
