He handed me a REAL ROOM KEY!Wifi is terrible, no Verizon signal, no ice machine. In room TV, bed, refrigerator, A/C, heat. Clean and decent.As it is in most things, the personal interactions are most important. On that account, Laura Lodge gets TEN STARS.I am visiting from a south eastern state, I live on a rural mountain l depend on my neighbors for support as a necessity, in turn they depend on me.You could pick up Laura's Lodge, drop it in my town, it would fit right in. The innkeeper was kind and helpful, personally checked the room, and bade me a goodnight.Then : He handed me a REAL ROOM KEY!Thank God for the little things that make these moments precious, and life enjoyable. A key is solid, uncomplicated, and everyone can work one. No flimsy plastic to loose, no beep and guess.Even I can do a key.

Edit: the three star review but I am now changing it to one star because upon checking out of this place after all the inconvenience, he decided to charge us more per night than what we originally agreed upon and tried to say that we owed him $15 even though we were leaving three days before our original date, and the reason we are leaving is because he kept trying to change what room we were in. Communication was not clear at all.I would not recommend staying here as the person who is running this place obviously does not know how to properly manage a business fairly to all patrons, definitely avoid.Original review:I was very happy with the location, price, and size of the room, but definitely don't recommend staying here for more than one night if you have kids. Unless your children are completely silent and you have a baby that never cries, other guests will complain about it and you'll get moved around. Instead of staying somewhere I feel my family is unwelcome we chose to go to a different motel in town. It's a shame because the location here is great. Probably best for a single person or very quiet couple.

PROS: Hotel is off the main road so it's quieter, but within easy walking distance of restaurants, downtown and it has an Ace Hardware on the next block over, there are plenty of amenities nearby. I had a single bed room that was clean and had a large closet, the manager was a cool dude that put me on the second floor which is a little quieter then the ground level rooms and has less foot traffic.CONS: Parking lot is a little small, there is also a lot behind the building but I don't recommend parking there overnight because none of the rooms have windows facing that side of the building and it looks pretty sketchy.

My fiance and I used Booking.com to book a single night stay on our way to San Diego, which is a long drive for us. It specifically states that the hotel is pet friendly on the Booking.com page, however the owner turned us away because of our dog. He was very rude and said that we "tried to pull one over on him" by not listing our dog but we got the room from Booking.com and they don't give you an option to add a dog. So how am I supposed to add a dog? Also I'm mentally ill and my dog is an Emotional Support Animal, and now I have to find somewhere else to stay day of when I booked this room last week. Don't give this guy your money.

We stopped here to take a rest after being on the road all day picking up our new puppy. The desk clerk was helpful friendly and accommodating in getting us through a very exhausting day, safely . His kind and friendly manner allowed us to relax and get some sleep in the middle of a day which then allowed us to return home without incident. Not the most modern or luxurious Motel but for where we were it was acceptable. the door locked, the window treatments completely covered the windows and provided adequate privacy. The doors locked the room was clean and staff was extremely accommodating.

This place is in a sketchy area. As soon as got off the 5fwy I was uncomfortable. Booked online even had confirmation from booking.com. got there and no one at front desk.They had phone and laptop there. No one came to service me.called number from a different location. no answer. I highly questionthe great reviews. Be careful trying to book from this place!! It's down a very dark road. A car followed me closely even though it was initially going the other way. Then another one came and passed me. I was sandwiched all the way.My little self was terrified!Thanks to motel 6. I am safe and sound.0 is my rating g!! Be safe!!

There is no way this can be considered a three-star hotel . The rooms are missing the most basic amenities—no hand towels, glasses for water, no coffee pot, no tissue dispenser. The desk was painted plywood and dirty. One of the outlets didn't work. The toilet isn't bolted to the floor. The door keys are metal keys and there's no deadbolt. The sheets, the towels, the bathmat were all stained. There's no light in the shower. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. The room looks nothing, nothing at all like the pictures. There is no phone system and no alarm. We arrived late slept in our clothes and left as soon as we could.

I stayed at this Motel in the Beginning of this year for I believe a little over a month. I really enjoyed my stay there. The Managers/Owners Really Keep to themselves they don't mind anyones business but there own, and they are willing to do whatever they can to make there guests stay more enjoyable. The first room I got was really large and had a walk in closet, which came in handy because i had a lot of stuff and even the bathroom was roomy Next the Laura Lodge is Conveniently Located in the Heart of Coalinga. I didn't have a vehicle so I was able to walk wherever I needed to go with incredible efficiency. To this day whenever I get a Motel Room the Laura Lodge is where I stay!!!!

This is one of the worst places I have ever seen. Needs immediate remodel. Ceiling is leaking the water doesn't come out of the shower head and the toilet ran all night. When I told the owner that the toilet wasn't working she had advised me to turn the water off under the toilet. LOL. She got angry and confrontational when I told her the ceiling is leaking and she tried to cover herself by saying you think I would put you in a room if I knew it was leaking? And once we went back to the room she tried to justify the ceiling leaking by saying her plumber told her it needs to leak otherwise it will block the pipes and to just put a towel on it. So I said this conversation is over you just got defensive saying you wouldn't place me in a room if you knew the ceiling was leaking and now you're telling me what your plumber told you??? I don't care I almost slipped on the tile floor and I would have sued you. I walked out and was told I wasn't welcome back. TRUST ME I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Disgusting hair all over the floor when I first got in the room. But I checked in so late I didn't want to complain. But NEVER again and I would NEVER recommend this place.

There were not a lot of choices for hotels in the area. The bathroom was almost unuseable, the shower was a hole in the wall with a curtain, the bathroom door was once white but it was so dirty I was afraid to touch it.It did not have a dead bolt on the door which was a hollow bedroom door. NO COFFEE ANYWHERE. The saving grace was the starbucks just down the street. I would have stopped at walmart but it was closed down. I paid 60.00 for the room, in which they charged 10.00 for the second bed.

Modest, basic, yet with some amenities, such as wi-fi, microwave & mini-frig. Soft towels :-). Fine value for the price. Would benefit from washing the doors. Some people have said it's in earlier decades. That's not always such a bad thing - unpretentious, honest. Doesn't pretend to be fancy. Reminiscent of the Hitching Post in Santa Cruz.

This was a last resort on our way to southern California. No water glass, one towel, no shampoo or hair dryer. I think there may have been a small bar of soap. Dirty and stained rug. But then again we had two dogs and it was only $40. I guess you get what you pay for.

I had to check in late at night and the owner was so polite he even let us choose between 2 rooms. The beds were brand new, and very comfortable! I am going to stay here next time I have to head that way.

This by far is one of WORST rooms I've ever encountered! FILTY! It was room #4 ! Pulled back sheets stain on one bed the other did the same found bed bugs! Key was stuck in door and mngr couldn't get it out says we can leave it like that until morning he will change it. I said HELL NO! The only other lock was a chain lock not very safe at all! Asked for another room so he put me in #5 which the door had been kicked in and tape was on molding to make it seem it had been repaired. This room was also very GROSS! Expedia was contacted by myself and relocted me to another hotel. BTW this lodge says they have room phones but guess what didn't have one in either room! Stay at your own risk!

This motel is quite old. The room was as clean enough and the wifi was free and had a strong signal. I paid 52 for the room. I thought the TV had lots of channels. The room had a fridge and microwave.

For the price, this was awesome! Clean rooms, easy parking, free WiFi, and a very friendly hostess who even helped us find late night mexican food! I'll likely be back

The room was hot and that's with the AC on the bathroom door nob gone the closet door nob hanging on half way and door didn't close ... I told the manager about the TV not working and told him he could check it when my husband got back he asked who is there now I told him no one and don't go in to our room iv already have personal belongings in side .... I get back and he popped out from the room under mine yelling at me y didn't I tell him we have a dog ... I did speak to him other then to tell him about the TV and I know my husband told him about our service dog .... he went in to our room with out permission

I made a reservation at the lower Lodge 2 weeks ago when I show up he tells me he doesn't have my reservation tells me to come back in an hour and a half and he'll have me a room but I had to pay cash cuz his card machine wasn't working now Friday 10:15 I made a reservation earlier in the week but he's not honoring it because he says he doesn't have any rooms because the field workers well I obviously made my reservation before they came in so he doesn't want my business and he probably doesn't want yours either if I can give him a zero I would

very nice place clean and very nice people. we visit coalinga 3 times a year and seem to stay here for the go to spot. its centrally located for why we go. nice mexican food joints and most stay open late.
