The staff is really friendly and do their best to help you find what you're looking for. The staff isn't bent on making a sale and are willing to guide and suggest other stores or veterinarian hospitals that may have a better suited item for your pet's needs. They are awesome!

A really great store all around. They care for the fish really well. I tend to always see them caring for the fish whenever I visit the store and the place is well maintained. They have excellent customer service. Putting in an order for fish and calling you over once the fish ordered is there is a service not any other pet stores offer. Price range is very nice compared to local pet stores specifically in the aquatics area. I tend to go here to pass time. Which proves how great the store is. I recommend going here for fish that’s pretty common in the hobby over going to Aquarium and Reptile depot. If you’re a beginner especially, it’s better to come here since my experience proves that their fish are healthier than those that are in Aquarium and reptile depot. Also price wise it is much more expensive in Aquarium and Reptile depot.

I stopped at this location to pick up some cat litter and their registers went down so I had to order online so I could get what I needed. The whole transaction was fast and easy and the litter was actually cheaper so I'll probably keep ordering online and picking up when convenient for me. Love it!

I recently visited this store for the 1st time after living in Citrus Heights for 7+. I had no reason to go to any pet store until I decided to get Bettas.•The staff is super friendly and helpful.•The store setup is nice.• I did notice that the Pet Grooming area can get busy and quickly.• Parking is good. Haven't had any issues.• Huge thank you for calling cashier backup when needed!! A+++Overall, my experiences have been great.Thank you Petco and Staff.😜👍

Stan Lee the German Shepard requested a different teeth cleaning chewy. He asked me to please not get the chewies that he can eat through in minutes and because of cost-of-living makes shopping skittish, he wanted to buy me something from Petco. Very thoughtful dog.

I went in today to buy some fish, the young ladies that assisted me and explained fish care that I was unaware of, were outstanding! I wasn't the kindest but I definitely wasn't the worst, lol, I was stubborn at first, but they politely and kindly explained and I thank them for that! 100% <3

The cashier was very helpful and very nice and knowledgeable. I appreciate her taking the time and doing what she did for me. This was my first visit to the Greenback petco but it won’t be my last. Came in the other day and met Jojo and Audrey (I hope I am getting their names right). Jojo was shadowing and Audrey was doing a wonderful job helping customers. They have most things customer service isn’t so good. After buying things my 2 year old had to use the restroom I asked if they had any and she said no I tried explaining it was my two year old but then she said they lost the keys and all the employees go to grocery outlet (which was 4 stores over).. why is there no public restrooms here?

Manager Alan refused sealed exchange for product purchased at another Petco west Sac store even after I presented a screen shot of purchase proof from online bank acct to prove Petco purchase on 12/19/23…horrible attitude . I have been a regular customer and spent a lot of money at his Citrus Heights store since I got a new puppy 2 months ago and was shocked by his exchange refusal and rude attitude . Worst retail experience to date . I will take my business to Pets Mart now .

I love grabbing new little outfits for my doggie. She has so many. I went in only for dog food which I love the brands that they carry yo leaving with a ne wardrobe for my girl. Lol. Staff was staff. I didn't really speak to anyone until I was checking out. Lots of dogs when we went in so it's nice to feel welcomed in with your little pup.

Emma in grooming wasn’t very willing to assist in a walk in for a nail cut. That there was no time due to near the weekend on an early Thursday she said. So I had to take my business elsewhere. NP . OTR trk drivers as myself can not always live through appointments only (for something so fast).

My pickup order was ready very quickly, and I was greeted immediately upon arrival to the store by a very friendly associate (sorry I didn’t catch his name!) who carried two heavy bags of food to my car. I might go slightly out of my way to visit this location in the future!

I have been nothing but disappointed with my recent experience of receiving (or lack thereof) dog training services. We were initially receiving dog training services at the Antelope location and had completed 2 weeks of the 6 week course. Upon arriving for our Saturday morning classes, we walked in to find that the training services at the Antelope location had been terminated. There was no communication to us regarding this change. So, we were told that they would then be transferring our training classes to the Citrus Heights location. About one hour later, I received a call from the Citrus Heights location. After letting them know my availability, the dog trainer, Desiree, stated that there are no classes that she can put me in for Saturdays or Sundays. She said that the best she could offer would be to schedule a time and start a new class. However, if another dog parent does not sign up for the same class, then the class would be cancelled - thus postponing another week of lessons. When speaking with Crystal, the store manager, she stated that if a training class is scheduled and another dog does not sign up, then the patron who has already been scheduled will need to be cancelled as a “private” class cannot be done because it “costs a lot more.” So, if I had already cleared my schedule and made an appointment for a training session, it can still be cancelled at any time as they are not willing to accommodate the customer. In addition to the inconvenience, this is a disservice to our puppy. This class is meant to be a buildable class -building knowledge on a weekly basis based off of the training completed the previous week. If consecutive weeks are lost, this contributes to learning loss for the puppy. This customer service and lack of continuity of care is appalling as the customer is being cast aside as the staff are not willing to respect the confirmed schedule .Lastly, Krystal (the store manager) told me to take my business elsewhere. Well, I can assure you that is exactly what I will do. I will also discourage my friends and family from patronizing this company if this is how their leadership treats their customers.

I went here to buy a hamster and found my wonderful friend and most of the supplies needed for him. What really was awesome was Lisa who obviously loved every animal. She was so nice and made sure we knew everything we needed to and I genuinely think my hamster is nicer because she socialized him. Thanks for the rad pet and the awesome service.
