The staff here is lovely. And we are all so sad. You don’t serve coffee anymore. I am sad because you’re blaming it on homeless people don’t be so greedy. Coffee is not that expensive. Everyone is a potential customer. And a lot of people that are on EBT like to drink coffee too. EBT sales are still sales. $$$$$$$ Get with it. Safeway on w Sacramento Avenue. My suggestion is some sensitivity training for the staff so they have less anxiety about people who are in a house in flux. No coffee. Not okay Safeway. Hospitality is key. I was ready to buy coffee and no hot coffee? Yikes! Chevron across the road. Make sure I got some hot coffee. Thank you Chevron maybe you could talk to Safeway.

Thank you to the customer service. My mother comes there regularly and just earlier today Oct 11th, 2023, my mother came to me because she doesn't speak English and said that she gave a 10 dollar bill for a gallon bleach she bought but was rung up as a 5 dollar bill. My mother and I went back to go check but went back to the customer service instead because the cashier was busy and I didn't want to interrupt business. The gentlemen was really understanding and knows that my mom goes to that Safeway and does her shopping and pays her bills there. The gentleman made it right. Thank you for so much. 5 stars.

I just recently visited and I had a very rude cashier.I asked him for his name he said it was Jackson but he was not helpful at all. He yelled at me when I didn’t know my phone number.

It's a very big Safeway. And it does have a deli and plants and a pretty good selection. The workers are very nice and helpful. Fruit and produce is very nice. Also they have a really nice floral section and bakery.

Man it's a great store whatever whatever but it's way too dark I fell and hit the ground so hard and not even one person said man are you okay or anything or even laugh for that matter or even they just all walked by me and it's weird strange people are getting stranger by the moment I guess it ain't stores fault but they definitely need a little bit more lighting ..

Almost all the bagels in the bakery cabinet were dark brown, overdone, burned.I've worked in food service/kitchen for 10 years and I would have been embarrassed to present that to customers.The cart locked up on me while I was still in the Safeway parking lot trying to load my groceries, I wasn't even on the Walgreens side. That was kinda annoying. Had to drag it out of the way.

Of course, not recommended if you're looking for the best price. But they are very good for their produce. I've never had problems with it, it's always perfect for me. Staff is very friendly and checkout is never a hassle.

I always feel superior when I enter a Safeway store. It is just so well-stocked and well-staffed. A young African-American woman who works at the store on Nord (Hwy 32) observed my agitation at one of the self-checkout stands. It was delivering a message that was very oddly configured. She jumped right in and saved the day. She was so capable and competent. Once in a while they have a deal that's a real value. Savings galore.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Horrible and uneducated employees. Firstly, I wait 15 minutes in line since only 2 workers are working at the time with no sense of urgency or work ethic. Secondly, I am purchasing a bottle of wine and steaks for my girlfriends birthday and she happens to be in line with me without her wallet since I am the one paying for her birthday, and the employee who is supposedly the store manager refuse me service since i am 21+ but my girlfriend who is present doesn’t have her ID present. I then told him and educated him that there is not a California Law or a statute that states that when buying alcohol you must see whoever else is with you ID unless the shop was 21+ older. THIS IS A GROCERY STORE. He then continued to refuse service. I Will never be going here again. Disappointed with uneducated and unexperienced employees at this Safeway location.

I have been shopping at this Safeway for the past 10 years. Some of the employees here might not been the hardest working bunch but were at least kind. On 3/13/2023, as I was checking out at the self check-out line, there was this employee, push me away to let the white man behind me to go first, even that customer knew he came to the line after me. This was quite racist. When I left, he still acted like he did nothing wrong. I have asked other employees about this particular employee's name and if the store manager wants to know, I can provide his name.

Just went into Safeway this morning and there was an elderly woman named Rana working. She was very sweet and nice and had a positive attitude. She definitely made my day!!! Great customer service skills

Well it is a Safeway. It has doors to enter and also, doors to.....um...exit. Also, it surprised me they have grocery items. May seem sketchy at first sight when shopping at night, but the roughs are harmless unless you are in opposition to their gang of homeless. So, short of the long, FLY THE RIGHT COLORS amd you'll be fine! Woot woot, as it were! Magic

Rachel from the Bakery department at this store was so helpful. She answered the phone when I called and assisted me with an order for a birthday cake and was professional and kind. Will be ordering again from this store!

The bathroom looked like a homeless person was living in there. I had my cart half full and went to the bathroom for 5 minutes only to find dirty clothes and garbage all over. No toilet paper. Came out to find my cart gone and already restocked. Maybe clean the bathrooms instead of restocking people's carts that are stuck in a dirty bathroom with no toilet paper. I am done shopping at this location. Homeless have taken over.

I want to start off by acknowledging Tyler H and Debbie for having a positive attitude and having great customer service. It started off with Tyler working the Delicatessenslammed with customers, while waiting in line I noticed Debbie working at her station and asked if there was any way she could assist Tyler, Right away without hesitation she rushed over and started helping him. This made my day so I thought I'd share my positive experience at Safeway :)

This review is coming from someone who spent 26 years in upscale SERVICE industry. YOUR employees need big training in service and customer service. After traveling many times overseas to what we call '3rd world countries' I've realized that the service is MUCH better in those "3rd world countries". Service in America is becoming really bad. Employees looking at you doing nothing. AREN'T you getting paid to do a job. then do it. on those '3rd world countries' service is much much faster and better. let alone cheaper and tastier food. This is terrible. thanks God I'm leaving America after 33 years. It was one big fake COMPANY. that's what America has become. Just names of big corporations who care only about profit and not service or product. FIX your company before it all collapses like many other things collapsing in the good OLE U>S>A> GOOD LUCK.

It was okay. When I was at the checkout, I could not understand the guy behind me. Maybe he was nonverbal. But anyways, I was going to Safeway to get Chow Mein but they didn't have any, so I got Chicken Strips instead. My God do Safeway Chicken Strips Fill You Up! I am also not the biggest fan of their location as well. The area around W. Sacramento Avenue is dirty.

Bought some donuts that were supposedly made fresh daily. Had mold on all 4 of them. Went in to tell them and workers didn't seem sorry or surprised. At least we got our money back but that's honestly the bare minimum.

A shout out to one of the managers there. His name is Mike R. and he is so super helpful anytime I shop there. He knows where everything is unlike some of the checkers but that's ok. Their security guy on duty plays on his phone instead of keeping an eye out for single female customers like myself going out into parking lot at 1am but other than that the employee I mentioned above and his great personality and helpfulness is why I come to this Safeway. He is great!

They always take good care of us. Most or many of the customers are college students, but there's still some senior citizens that live in a senior mobile home park near by and I feel that they try extra hard to accommodate our needs. Our most frequently used market as it is close to home. I would give it 5stars but it is often cold in there for us great grandparents.. Still no complaints. They are great!

A lot of people from here in chico, have been shoppong here for over a decade. Freshest produce (local), the choiciest meats (the deli will also cut/slice your preferred style for the evening), also a delicious delicatessen/bakery and fully stocked shelves (the night crew comes in between 2 and 6 am every morning) throughout the store. There is 4 self-checkout registers, usually a quick, easy, and efficient, operable, and clean! The checker team is solid and dedicated to their positions and super friendly. Except for LP. Moving on and furthermore the store is in my opinion a 9 outta 10. Also, the prices are ridiculously so low after you punch in your Club card number, you usually save half of the original total on your purchases. Thats right.. Way low prices and a great friendly crew in a clean and organized store. Great team and management! But not LP.

Went to put a cup full of penny's in coin star. Macine malfuncted and the manager told me he had no idea what to do. Not his fault. But didn't take my name or anything for when it was fixed or whatever. it was like 10 or 5 bucks or something but still you should grab someone's info when a machine your business holds malfunctions like that. If it were any more than what I had brought I would have made a big fuss

Ok. No carts. Cart I got had that wheel locked. Has some great deals and some items I can't find at my Raley's. No bagger. I don't care if I have to bag myself but it felt awkward trying to get bagged up and out while there was a line. The reason I visited the location was to fill a friend who lives nearby fridge and cupboard after falling on hard times. Keep at it. Overall, slightly above average.

This Safeway is super expensive just because of it's convenience to college kids. It's really nice inside, the workers are really friendly, and so are the other patrons. There are constantly "shady" homeless people outside however, and it's almost always busy. It's good if you need to just grab a couple things but other than that, there are plenty of other places that cost way less and feel safer going to and from your vehicle.
